Early on, I deleted my book and went hoodless for a while. The "balcony bug" would drop you in someone else's hood if you linked to the neighborhood balcony using the Gahreesen stone after you deleted your hood book. I ended up once in a one-man private hood and gave the owner (who was there) an unexpected surprise. That didn't create a new neighborhood for me, though. Later, I did create my own private hood (which is now long-gone) and I don't recall anything unusual about it.

In any event, the balcony bug was fixed in Live 3 (early March).

I remember hearing about the "generic neighborhood" issue too. IIRC, it resulted from some link-sharing from the balcony under those conditions (I never experienced it) but the deal was, you ended up in "Neighborhood" not "<name's> Neighborhood", and it was bone-stock empty. So how one might create a vid-approved "<your-name-here>'s Neighborhood" is still something of a mystery.

I remember that too. I wish they would keep it that way, because Originally there was just one "Bevin." Bevin is NOT a D'ni word for 'hood, so there's really no reason as to why all the 'hoods are being labeled as "Bevins."

I may be remembering wrong, but I think a while back there was a 'bug' with which you could get a "[name]'s Neighborhood" by creating a 'hood using one of the Bahro stones instead of the Nexus, but you wouldn't get any of the extra random stuff that way... Does anyone else remember this? Or am I losing what's left of my mind?

The big KI looks like this:

It created a new age ("Neighborhood") in my KI ages list when I took this KI shot.

I don't know about PM's - I think my neighbors are currently frozen with lag but I'd bet they will say "Neighborhood" not "Bevin".

Odd. One thing I noticed, it's got "Yeesha hand" lamps instead of the "beehive" lamps I see in my own hood and Kirel. Does that make it a "Seret?"

Interesting... I had seen those before, several months ago, but never really thought much about it. My initial thought was that someone just named an avatar "Church of Ralph's Neighborhood" and the Nexus actually says "Church of Ralph's Neighborhood's Bevin", but you can't see it because it's cut off... but you say the 'hood imager only says "From: Church of Ralph"... interesting...

What does the big-KI say when you look at it? And what do your messages say when you PM someone from there?

Something odd I have noticed about the Nexus. I believe that when an invite is sent or a hood is made a link is created in the nexus. When its created the name for that link is generated (like a file name). Which menu the link goes in is separate from the name that is generated for it.

Simply put in the vault the names of the hoods are not Avatarname's %
%= system automatically puts "Bevin"
But is: Avatarname's Bevin

I say this because I found something odd a while back. Gahreesen used to be mispelled in the Ki and Nexus. It was fixed a bit after launch. But, before it was sent someone sent me an invite to their Gahreesen which I still have. The text for the link in the Nexus is still misspelled. So from this I surmise that each link is "named" upon creation instead of the system generating a name from where it leads when the Nexus is accessed.

However, why this only explains how the Neighborhood names can exist in the Nexus, not how they got there.

In Church of Ralph's Neighborhood you can look at the Visitors list and it shows "From: Church of Ralph". That means he did not have "Neighborhood" in his avatar name.

So was this changed briefly and is now reverted again?

Furthermore, if there is going to be a correction one day it must be applied to all neighborhoods and not just new neighborhoods.
