It is also avatar specific btw. Perhaps some people only played with one of their avatars while the Santa hat was activated. Then their other avatars would not have gotten it.

Or maybe they just missed that there is a scroll button in their closets. It happens...

There were some people who didn't get the hat at all during that period, I think Mireena was one of them.

its a manual switch, most likely.

It was /supposed/ to be turned on the week before Christmas, not the 25th, as that was when it was traditionally turned on.

I don't know how this myth of it being activated on the 25th started - but lets end it here - the Santa hat is meant to be turned on the week before Christmas. Not christmas day - not the 27th, the week before. =P

i have a theory, that OHB can easily prove or disprove i'm sure, that someone would have had to of activated the hat on the 25th to make it avaliable that day and no one understandably wanted to be in the Cyan offices on Christmas, so they decided to activate it on the 27th after they returned from a holliday hiatus...

this dispells something i heard last night, that explorers who have an avatar made anytime before or durring the month of december get the hat when it is activated on the 27th.

apparently, this is not true as OHB has been around long before december of 2010...

Too late now. You need to log in while it is activated. I'm not sure when they turned it off. Maybe after the Jan 4 server maintenance, or maybe sooner.

it's definitely always been available before the holiday - i guess it was missed when they turned on the tree. oh, well, there's always next year!

Still no hat. I don't know where the rumour that it'd appear on Christmas day came from, but I don't remember it ever working like that before - I'm sure it was around for a week or more before Christmas.

I suspect it has to be manually enabled, and with little or no Cyan staff on over the holiday, I think it might not get enabled for a few days, if at all now .
