the best way to do it is remember how you did it back in primary school with your A-Z. One of the easiest way to remember is to use a word in place of each letter. That is all well and good but then we have another problem, how do we look at a D'ni letter and recognise it as g or t or U?

Firstly, you need to know your D'ni letters themselve and how to write them. The easiest of all ways is to follow this guide. If all you have to remember are four letter stems and four letter feet (taking a few odd characters into consideration), then being able to write them and remember the alphabet should be a breeze. Remember which once are accented is a little harder. You jsut have to remember these. There are eleven and are at letters, 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 16, 19. 1 being 'v' that is.

Once you have learnt your letters to being able to write from 'v' ro 'n' in D'ni, now it's time to learn what each letter sounds like and what it's latin equivilant is. As explained above, the best way to do this is to remember them as the starting letters of words. This is what I used (I decided to learn the traditional way and not the new standard since remember the new standard is a joke. Why should I make it hard by remembering that þ=Alt+231, ð=Alt+208, ç=Alt+135, et cetera. It just seemed like way too much work than was actually required).
vacant tears sicken jurors. years keep asking for ignorance. experience real men Thinking thereabouts. hearing only changes whispers until, Xavier looks at zero negligence.

bitchy Sharon gasps! Karen, I protect Ethan. Aden's Dreamcast. Oysters ooze.

I'm sure you could come up with somehting of your own but that's what worked for me. Now important things to note about mine. Firstly, not all words I have used there corrispond with a D'ni letter exactly. I have tried to represent the sound each letter makes rather than just the letter used. For example, ooze is in fact an uppercase 'U' but because of the sound it makes the word 'ooze' was used instead. Here is a list of those words: 'Thinking' = 'T'; 'thereabouts' = 'd'; 'changes' = 'c'; 'Xavier' = 'x' and makes a 'ts' sound, as in bets; 'Sharon's' = 'S'; 'Oysters' = 'O'; and 'ooze' = 'U'.

One very important thing to notice in the sentances I've used. 4-5-5-5-5. These corrispond to the D'ni letter structure of 4 letters without a letter footer, five with the ridged 'u'-like footer, five with 'n'-like footer, five with the rounded 'u'-like footer, and the final five with the little oil lamp-like footer. Each sentance represents a set of letters as explained in this guide (which is why it's important to have a look at the guide and learn how to write the D'ni v-n before you start learning the sounds and latin letter equivilents). The accents are split up in the same manner. Once you've got all that down pat then you can go here to practice those skills.

I hope this helps things, don't try this without the D'ni font to practice…
