Speaking of E3...

If anybody saw Microsoft's press conference you no doubt remember seeing Project Natal. I can't help but think how awesome a Myst game would be using the full body motion capture camera. Imagine waving your hand through the air and watching your avatar flip through the pages of a journal; imagine holding up your hand and pushing towards the screen to watch your avatar activate a button or journey cloth; imagine kicking your foot out and watching a cone or soccer ball go flying; imagine making your avatar dance...by actually dancing in real life. I think that would be a blast and raise the immersion to new heights. What do you all think?

And to tie it vaguely back to the original topic fan made open source things don't go to E3, they aren't commerical games and thus have nothing to gain by the costs of getting a booth. Besides, booth babe in bikini, booth babe in bodysuit, booth babe dressed skimpy, explorer dressed sensibly for all kinds of weather with a traffic cone beside, booth babe..

At risk of continuing the thread bump, I figure "OSUL" sounds something like Azul, which is nifty.

Er, anyway, OSMO here as well (again, looking at the heading of this subforum).

Either its your accent or mine, but when I say it aloud it sounds like assault, and I have a hard time already repeating myself trying to get words across, especially at work

So sadly Cyan wasn't at E3, and its getting closer to the middle of winter here in New Zealand, still no sign of anything happening with making the Myst Online Open Source Experience available.

I guess i'd better go back to swatting for my calculus exam in a couple of weeks, nothing like a 6 month break from Age making when nothing is happening other than Myst for the iPhone.
MOOSE -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moose
I like the moose analogy, as it is an animal that wanders around, much like Uru explorers in D'ni
I have been here since beta and have loved this game for years. I am just glad it has received another chance at life.

At risk of continuing the thread bump, I figure "OSUL" sounds something like Azul, which is nifty.

Er, anyway, OSMO here as well (again, looking at the heading of this subforum).

                                      I don't see 5 days as 'resurrecting' myself. A week, yes, but not a few days. Particularly not in the slow parts of the forum.

I'm also serious. Uru is best, OSMO works too if we need an acronym for life or death reasons. MOOSE is just stupid, OSUL is odd (but I could sorta live with it, trouble is it doesn't roll off the tongue).

I don't think Cosmic Osmo is going to be a worry unless Cyan won't let us call it OSMO for legal reasons.. personally I think it's fitting for many reasons. Open Source gives us a fun toybox and sandbox to play about with and explore what we can do in. How is that not a fitting tribute?
