The reason the launcher (aka patcher) is crashing on start is because it relies on http://support.cyan.com/
to get the status line that includes the CAVCON number. And has nothing to do with the last couple updates to clothing.
If you get this crash, you can do a quick check by trying to go to http://support.cyan.com/
and if that site is down then that is why you are crashing.
Personally, I don't know why the support site keeps going down but it is something that Cyan despartely wants back up because it not only affects MOULa but affects customer service for all of Cyan's products!
BTW, there is a fix by the fans for this crash that has been in the works but has not made it to the MOULa servers yet.
