Tomorrow we will be having a follow up meeting at 10KI. If you are interested in being a moderator, please join us. I have plenty of KI time slots to fill and would love if I could have some people from other countries help out. Thank you! :D

*bump*...

Things have been falling into place and I think we're ready to kick the Party going
in some 48 hours or so... Starting time Saturday 23rd is set for 08:00 KI Time
and who knows when or where it all will end!

PLEASE JOIN US IN THE INTERNATIONAL HOOD!!! AS THIS IS A PARTY
FOR EVERYBODY, FROM EACH AND EVERY CORNER OF THE WORLD!!!

/// Pop in at any convenient time for you! And if you can't
come... please promote the event anyways! Thank You! ///

We'll hand out KI Mails with useful Links, Streams etc...
And you can also look here: http://www.urutunes.com/

So here are some rough guidelines regarding the music that will be played during
the event. All times approximate! We'll follow the Time Zones, as the day / evening
/ night progresses. Generally, the first hour will be perhaps more traditional & folk
tunes. The second more upbeat & dance friendly!

Session #1... See below!

Session #2... 08:00 to 10:00... Music from Australia, NZ and Oceania.
Also from China, Asia and India etc. Drums and Bhangra, anyone?

Session #3... 10:00 to 12:00... We move westwards. Middle East, some parts
of Africa, Turkey, Greece, Balkan and not to forget Russia!... Crazy Gypsy Bands
and some Brass Horns!

12:00... Time to take a breather!? Opening Speeches etc...

Session #4... 12:20 to 14:00... All over Scandinavia. Finland, Sweden, Norway,
Denmark, Iceland. Maybe also some more obscure stuff... And how about some ABBA?

Session #5... 14:00 to 17:00... Time to let AlanDJ take over. My guess for this set:
a lot of English / Irish / Celtic tunes and for good measures stuff thrown in from all over
the place. Cape Verde perhaps? France, Germany, Portugal, Spain and the rest of Europe.

Session #6... 17:00 to 19:00... Moving westwards... reaching South Americas.
Most likely we'll get a bit of a Carnival!? Brazilian Samba, Caribbean rhythms, Salsa,
Reggae, Sounds from the Jungle... who knows.

Session #7... 19:00 to 21:00 [?]... Here we are a bit 'open ended'. And in USA,
Canada and South America. So keep on swinging or rocking, eh?!

Session #1 has become #11...21:00 to ??:??... This has been moved, more suited
so if we get visitors from Australia, Japan or New Zealand! So we'll round this all up, by
of course playing some stuff from those parts of the world, or related to it in some way!

So come join us!... Put on Your Red Shoes and Come Dance away the Blues...

Um... well, I thought it clever [and more confusing  ] when moving Session #1
also rename it to #11, and not #8... And IF the DJ's got their steam up they're
free to add #8 to #10 if they wish!!!

And yeah, I hope [most of it at least] will sound great...

Thank you all for coming yesterday! It means so much to me! Because so many people liked this event, I would LOVE to have another one just like it, with lots of cultural dance tunes and fellowship. Again, thank you all for coming! I'm so excited for the future!

I will be adding my speech here soon. If you would like to translate it for other forums, please do. I'd really appreciate it!

International Hood Opening Day Speech

Hello/Hola/Hallo/Ciao/Privet/Salut/Kon Nichiwa.

Welcome to the International Hoods Opening Day!

Thank you all for coming, and Im so excited to see you all here!

I would like to give you all a short descriptive speech on what this hood is about and my goals and plans.

The goal of the International Hood is to help bring people together. I know some of you struggle to find friends who are from your country or that can speak your language well.

My hope is that this hood can help narrow down your search. On the imager I have a list of KI #s under the language that they speak in hopes that newbies will come in and quickly find someone that they can message.

Im always looking for more people to add to that list, and as you can see, its currently small. The bigger the list is, the better!

I also have a hello in multiple different languages as well, in hopes that it will help non-native English speakers feel welcome to the MOULa community.

Lastly, I have an events slide on the imager and I also have a slide that displays information about other hoods. If that information feels inaccurate, Id love for someone to help me update it. Also, if there is something you feel needs to be added to that slide, please feel free to message me after the speech.

With all this information, Im really hoping to help people quickly find their native language group and to feel welcome and like they fit in. I want everyone to feel like they belong and are at home. We want this to be a comfortable community!

Looking towards the future, Id love if we could host some events in here.

Some ideas would be: your country has a music night of their sole language, if you have a holiday your country would like to celebrate then you can host it in the International Hood, we hold a parade in the city where everyone wears their flag color, and you can host special events in this hood.

This is just the start of a list that I would love to have grow!

I want this hood to be open to hosting parties for different countries. In this, we can bring each country together and we can better understand each others culture.

If you ever have a party you would like to be hosted in the International Hood, please let me know. We would love to have you celebrate here.

Or, if you ever have any ideas that the hood itself could host, please bring it to my attention. I want to bring everyone together as best as I possibly can.

Welcome to the International Hood and thank you all for coming! I am so grateful to see you all here and I hope you feel as much at home as I do here!

Well... I hope all you people enjoyed the Event. And maybe Snick & Co can arrange
something similar in the near future in the Hood. But then perhaps not an Event with
some 14 hours of music in one go... But a bite sized 2 hour or so session? Perhaps only
from one region or continent at the time?

Anyways, the music played was to great parts selected by "yours truly" and the playlists
had music with an intended diversity, many languages and several styles from different
parts of the World! And different countries, and I think at least from these [and then
some more, I'm sure]...

Algeria, Argentine, Armenia, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cape Verde [Portugal], Cameroon,
China, Colombia, the Cook Islands [New Zealand], Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, Ethiopia,
the Faroe Islands [Denmark], Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guinea-Bissau, Iceland,
India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique,
the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania,
Russia, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Tuva [Russia], Ukraine, United
Kingdom [England, Scotland, Wales etc.] and Uzbekistan.

A big Thank You to Magic Joker, who DJ'd the most parts of the event without any big
issues! And a Thank You to Team Radio Free D'ni... AlanDJ, Malaclypse & EdisonRex.
Great stuff, as always! And Thank You Snickuster and not to forget, all of you
volunteers in the Hood during the event and all you others promoting it everywhere!!!

And lastly... Thank YOU.... the Audience!!!

I’ve been asked about the possibile presence of a translation bot for similar events. I remember seeing one recently, but I think that was a one-time experiment, wasn’t it?

I can ask Stone if he could come in but 1) Stone has to be willing and able to lend us his bot and to come in and 2) the bot has to be in a private instance, which could cause for a problem. Not sure how it would work. Just getting people there and all.

I've also heard that Stone has to pay for the bot. I would LOVE if he could attend some of our events, as it would make it easier for everyone to understand, but also, I understand he has a rl as well and I don't know all the requirements of using a bot.

For possible future events, I'll offer my Silk Road music. Originally intended to expand Kitaro's 1.5-hour Silk Road soundtrack into an evening of music, it has since become a 19-hour in-depth journey across China, central Asia, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. It's in 9 parts, and is made from local music. Last performed in Second Life, under the auspices of Shiva's Whisper, summer of 2015, on a succession of Thursdays.

The Western-influenced music that used to form the Musical Journey has been hived off into its own sets. The Transcaucasus Fantasy was the first of these, and then recently I made the Silk Road Trip parts I and II. They're all 3 hours each.

The music changes while the core idea remains. Travel! Adventure! Camels! Desert winds, moonlight, music around the fire in a caravanserai somewhere under the stars. Let me know if you're interested.
