If we miss out on interaction, will there be a section in this forum for what took place?

So if we miss the big Update on May 19th, does it mean we will miss all the stuff in the update?

What I'm meaning is: If I log in on the 20th instead, will I get the same content that I would get on the 19th?

Content will be there even after the Episode ends. Only thing you might miss is interaction with characters, but that depends on the time that the characters come in. We plan to have characters come in a lot during this time period. It should be fun. Smile

Okay, so take that time off work, invest in coffee IV... anything else? Wink

As far as announcments go this is a great one! Very Happy Getting it all in one lump stops the peekers from having any real advantage <cough>pod gate </cough>, and means you will know the next three weeks can be divoted to pounding on the new toys without worry of missing something.

Very Happy Ye'Ha!! Very Happy

Hope there is a bit of a Rod Serling plot involved with the foreshadowing....

Otherwise Nick's toast.

Who gets the night shift with us Europeans? Poor... I mean lucky buggers. Wink

GD, would you happen to know if the lag is going to be same as before? What about the "only 40 people in the City" -limit? There are bound to be queues on the release days... Very Happy

GD, I have one question.

You do state, "Between episodes, feel free to take a deep breath, talk amongst yourselves, delve into the new content more deeply, create your own events, explore with your friends, discuss and dissect everything that took place, and prepare for the next episode." And this quells the misgivings I was having prior to the announcement.

However, can we expect any interaction with the DRC or other NPC's during this time, or will it all be staged and timed? For example, should someone want to stage a sit-in to protest something or other, is there a reasonable chance that it will get a response?

Will live interacton with the DRC, et al generally increase, decrease, or remain about the same?

Oh -- sorry, just thought of a second question: Will new "sparks" still come out on the first, or with the rest of the package?

Yes we plan to have a place that talks about what happened in the cavern. I wouldn't be surprised to see fans to make movies and websites devoted to the Episodes. Smile

Hold on a minute! *Somebody* has to be a wet blanket here...

So we get intense DRC activity and new stuff on a particular date once a month. Following that, there seems to be a long three weeks plus when absolutely nothing is happening. I point out that the last few weeks of April was similarly inactive, and the Cavern population dropped precipitously.

I think this is going to result in everybody and their dog logging in when the updates are due, but at other times the Cavern will be very empty. Of course, there will be people logging in after the big rush to avoid the horrid lag.

It would be nice if there were to be small changes to the existing ages during the rest of the time.

Dunno. I am going to withhold judgment on this for a few months...

Maybe the ADM has put a hit out on Cate! Anyone else can to speculate on who's gonna bite the big one and how?

Great move. I think it'll help a lot in many ways. The episodic content model is one that has been proven effective - just look at Sam & Max.

Also, episodes make it easier for new people to catch up *heads of to MYSTlore to set up Episode wiki pages*

This just in!

Cate Alexander shot by an angered Douglas Sharper in retaliation for firing his friend, Nick White. Sharper subsequently disappeared, and the condition of Ms Alexander is unknown at this time.

Okay, not as bad as I was fearing, possibly even good. Two weeks to wait, and then we shall see. I know what comes will be well worth the wait.

A question that no-one's asked yet, though:

The matter of the pods. Is it:

a) over and done with and that's all there was to it;

b) not over yet and there will be something more;

c) not over yet because it ties in to the upcoming stuff in some way?

I've been doggedly maintaining that there was something more to be discovered about the pods. I hope I'm right.

Oh, and if we are doing the ghoulish...I'm thinking possibly Marie.

Speaking of making movies GD. If you have some free time, I'd like to talk to you about a project I'd like to do for Mysterium.

As to the changes, I'm just looking forward to the large age coming out. At last I can do a few more episodes of the DRC Public Safety Association!

I think this is a good direction. I'm pretty pleased with this.

I mean, sure, ideally we'd love to have the DRC around all the time and stuff going on frequently all through the month... but that isn't going to happen. That isn't happening now, and I doubt there's any way it could with Cyan's current resources.

I think it will save people (I mostly mean new people who don't have any deep loyalty to Uru yet) from feeling so frustrated by logging in to see if anything has changed and seeing that it hasn't. It's better for people to know what to expect.

I understand the concern about missing the interaction with the NPCs, but that happens now. I think people will actually have a better chance of getting to interact with the NPCs if they know when they'll be around. Just in general, it sounds like a good use of their content.

This is pretty much what I figured the announcement would be, and I'm feeling good about it. Smile

Nooooo! They can't kill the anthropologist off! The Cavern has too few people in ethnographic fields anyway! Anyone but Marie! Wink
