Do you have to be a beta user to have any access to URULive and has registration for beta users been terminated at this time? I did sign up for GameTap but there is no acknowledgement that URULive exists at all on GameTap. Will I be able to renew my "first month free" if Urulive is not available in next 30 days?

You would need time travel at the moment. Wink It will be launched for the Christmas season. Beta is going on now and you can still submit your registration at any time. Cyan has said they plan on load testing at some point which sounds like it will include everyone who has signed up. The marketing engine at Turner/GameTap/Cyan has not started. Expect bigger things closer to launch time.

Before you cancel at the end of your free month, you should know that other Cyan games are coming online soon (The Manhole and Cosmic Osmo), and I encourage you to poke around GameTap and discover the other games they have.

And I'm not sure why, but it just occurred to me what this forum is missing - a GameTap ID discussion thread. Over at the Great Tree, we've been sharing GameTap IDs (mine's "MartenTW") so that we can find each other on GameTap and challenge each other to a game of Galaga or two. It's great fun when you realize there is a community aspect to GameTap, and it isn't all just solo gaming.

Chobe, go ahead and register, cause at the end, Cyan are gonna need every single tester they can find if they're going to stress test the servers properly. It would be a shame if the servers crashed right after start, wouldn't it? Razz

Beta testing is not related to having a GameTap account.

Sure, the beta test works regardless of nationality.

The beta test signup is on the front page of this website, or, you can click here:

http://www.urulive.com/betasignup.php

Beta participation is currently limited because the testing is in phase 2, a defect finding and fixing phase. Having too many people in beta during this phase is counterproductive because Cyan would end up receiving many duplicate complaints about the same defects. To avoid that problem, Cyan is adding new testers every few weeks during this phase.

But once the stress test begins (phase 3), Cyan is going to need a lot more people. So don't hesitate to sign up! I would be very surprised if anyone who signs up didn't get into the stress test.

Um... because beta hadn't begun when the signups were launched (I can't remember exactly when the start of beta was announced, but it was quite awhile after the initial signup,) I would assume he means he signed up, not got in, unless he's discovered the secrets of time travel. Wink

It was at the meeting with various GameTap people just before Mysterium.

Right, right, right. I forgot that because at the time I was stuck in various random airports all over the US trying frantically to get to Spokane, and ended up arriving a full 24 hours late for Mysterium. Ah, the memories! Wink

But anyway, it was a couple of months after the beta sign up launch, therefore he must mean signed up rather than got in. Smile
