That's interesting. Was the visual effect less or more bright?

I would expect the meter to reflect the amount of "potency" in the pellet... which I had thought the numbers in the KI correspond to. Perhaps the meter is something else...

The light was actually kind of dull. Just one orange-ish ring of light appeared, instead of the expanding and blinding excitement that occurs with the standard. It did last about as long(I think, don't quote me on that) as the standard and seemed to produce a good quantity of illumination.

This, of course, makes me wonder just what the heck is going on. I'm running another bunch on the same settings to get some more data points, hopefully it's not just me developing some kind of arithmetic dementia.

I apologize for double-posting, but the results are in, and they're fantastic.

This batch has held true with the previous experiment: An average of 622 points per pellet with a baking time of 2:10. See my post on the first page for the recipe.

Yay (it's almost kinda like-) Science!

My first batch at 40-30-20 took 4 hours two minutes to cook, and yeilded an average of 479.4. I didn't time the second batch at the same settings, but it yeilded an average of 476.8. The average for the 10 pellets was 478.1. They all registered about 80% on the meter.

Sounds like the numbers from PoTS may not be right for MOUL. I too used the 40/30/20 from PoTS and it only came upto 30 percent. I guess we'll have to wait for Ahnonay so we can get down in the bottom cave and decipher the rest of the clues,

I'm not sure what's going on here. While it took a long time for my first batch of pellets to cook, I don't know how long because I left them baking over night!

I don't know if it is the combination I am trying or what. But my average points per pellet for the first batch of 5 was 823.6 for a total of 4118. The highest was 1426 and the lowest was 235. So there seems to be some variables at work here.

I just started another batch and will post here when they are scored. If the average holds true, I will post the numbers I am using.

My first batch of the standard recipe took 3 hr 59 min, and ran the meter up to about 80%. (It's kind of hard to tell with the camera angle, and it wouldn't let me shift to first-person view during the testing process, for some reason.)

I only tested four of the pellets, dropping one in the upper cave just to see what I could see. My average was 451.5 for those four.

I really don't understand how the baking times can be so wildly different for people using the same recipe. Slight differences in pellet potency between pellets and between batches made by the same recipe are easy to explain, but the behavior of a time control should be consistent unless the controls are malfunctioning. But, if there is a malf, then the recipe should not work because the ovens are not actually following the settings.

Do we need to experiment to find the recipe that will drive the meter to 100%? Count me out. That would be tedious at 15 minutes per batch, much less 1-5 hours. Especially considering that there are 125,000 possible recipes.

I think that Preachr46's scores are cumulative with the 235 being the first pellet he dropped.
My feeling is that Raniass'i is counting the black line as 10, not 5.
In short, I don't believe that there are any differences in baking times using the same recipe.

There shouldn't be I believe, the first slider will more or less dictate how long it will take to cook. But my primary objective here is not to find the best score booster (i.e. better ki score) but rather a recipie that will get something like 100% on the light meter.

Here is the breakdown on my pellets.

Not sure why there is such a big difference between #4 & #5 and the others.

They all seemed to score around 85% or so. Hard to determine exactly.
