Post Posted: Fri Sep 07, 2007 11:29 pm — Post subject: The Guild Pubs

Greetings Explorers!

I received a Ki mail from Marie very early this morning. I am posting the exact text of it here (and I am willing to share it with anyone who is interested in seeing it IC)

"Reteltee,

Thanks again for your efforts in promoting the Guilds. The good news is that we're nearly ready to take another small step in the forming of new Guilds: the Guild Pubs are nearly ready for the Explorers. If you'd like to, feel free to spread the word that the Guild Pubs will be opening sometime this next week. Once open, admittance will be based on which one of the Guilds an explorer has become a supporter of by getting the corresponding shirt in the Guild 'hood.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks,

Marie"

So take this as official confirmation of my earlier statements regarding the Pubs. Yes they are coming out this week, and yes, they will be restricted by shirts (at least for now).

Feel free to ping me with any questions.

I wish you all the fondest Shorah.

Well, the obvious question is, can you change shirts whenever you want?

I'm most heavily into the Guild of Writers -- as you can tell just by counting my forum posts -- but that doesn't mean I might not want to drop into a Messengers or Maintainers meeting that might be scheduled in their pub.

You'll be able to change your shirt at any time.

...At least for now.

Er, so what's to prevent each of my four avatars from wearing a different shirt, now and into the future? With my fifth wearing my favorite Zandi shirt? If that's really all it's going to take to get into a Guild Pub, then we'll see lots more fracturing of the population into multiple avatars.

Shocked

Thanks for the news Reteltee! Very Happy

The Maintainers Pre-group is planning on a meeting in the guild pub, and it's nice to know we will not have to relocate. Very Happy

Z,

Who says the fracturing hasn't already begun?

Oh, I don't know...

Sometimes we do take ourselves far too seriously (me too).

Thanks, Reteltee for the info. I guess I'll shuffle over there and pick up one of those (color I look terrible in) shirts. If you get calls about broken glass or scuffed floors, there's a Guild of Cleaners Pub somewhere, I heard. They are always on call.

For bruises and watery eyes the Guild of Healers is a good place to start. My eyes just kept watering the other day and I couldn't get them to stop. One of the healers gave me something nice that made them feel much better.

I do think we'll work this out. I do think it will take time. I do think we have time. Under all the old paint and worn siding is a pretty solid old house. When I take a good look at the foundation, I can't help but see it was built to last.

All of the new Guild Pubs are beautiful to behold. As an original, founding member of the Guild of Greeters, it's touching for me to see the Greeter logo emblazoned on the walls of the Greeter pub. Cool

On your different avatars being in different guilds - well, they are all different personas, different representations of you. I think it makes sense that they can do whatever they want, including joining different guilds!

I think I was in all the guild halls yesterday - I kept switching shirts just so I could see what was happening.

You also don't have to wear your guild shirt to get into the guild hall. The shirt can be in your closet, your wardrobe.

Blame it one the same company that made the "Burgundy" Maintainer's Guild Supporter Shirts. Laughing
