No, this is a bright time in D'ni History.

We hold the power to continue the legacy of D'ni, to write worlds, to bring the history to life again.

Dark time for Cyan, but not for D'ni. The Guilds are alive Wink

But Cyan is the OOC equivalent of Yahvo! Dark time for The Maker, then.

Wow, It just hit me; that's really something that we will have that much power. Shocked

I really think we might have a chance to make D'ni more alive than ever before...I really think we have a strong fighting chance...Very Happy

I wonder how our ages will tie into the story. I doubt they'll say WE wrote them. More likely the DRC will find a forgotten library full of "apprentice" ages or something.

Face it. Writing ages seems way more dramatic when a Myst character does it.

What you need is an attitude adjustment. You're like a rollercoaster with the ups and downs. You know everything is going to be fine; you just want your "Cyan post" fix! You're just bored. Find a way to contribute to MORE and put that nervous energy to work. Wink

Nope. If you were in MOUL during the last episode, you'd know that both Yeesha and Dr. Watson made it clear that explorers need to write ages, now. The whole "find a way; make a home" thing is about us writing the ages. So, there's not going to be any story about the DRC or anyone else suddenly discovering a pile of lost books. All the player-created ages will be known to have been written by the explorers.

We should take this time to replay some of the earlier games and reread those books. That's what I'm doing. I'm also just practicing some things that I already enjoy that some people might find useful later, like making music, sketching, honing my 3D skills, etc.

Secondly, play some good games!. Try making mods with other popular games' engines too.
Find out what good design is! There is a lot of material out there to keep you busy, entertained, and educated. As you know, many mods for games are of poor quality; for example, rooms are too big or small, barren, bad texturing, artistic composition, etc. All of us care a lot about the Myst franchise and its historically high quality art and storyline. This is a great time to build your storytelling and illustration skills.

Finally and most importantly, have a good attitude. Talk to some friends about it, build some hype. Spread the love and all that. Keep posting on the forums.

P. S. I put a link to a rearranged Myst track that some of you might like to hear in the Creativity forum. Smile Maybe that'll cheer some of you up.

Well at the Guild of Writers I have published a preliminary (alpha) version of a wizard to enable things like rides (eg Er'Cana harvester).
I dunno about everyone else, but i'm having loads of fun making stuff that its almost not on my mind that it'll all be incorporated into MORE

For once,I couldn't agree more.Maybe if we will make things better with MOUL,and cyan worlds can hold on until than, than things will get better with cyan worlds? WOO! Smile

I asked about the game engine in my eirler post because all the user created ages are
for 'off line' exploring. Guess the guild of writers have one heck of a task ahead of them.
recoding(writing) every user created age to be emplimented into MO:RE.

(really wish Cyan had, had more time to learn the new phyX engine code better, maybe thats
one of the things they are doing right now!)

and... TY for correcting me Smile

:Pulls hat over face:

Any who I read something somewhere that said anything worth doing is worth doing right
and that gonna take time, I am hoping to see it open soon like everybody else, and already have some idea's for a Bevin.

This could be the one Cyan Item that brings them back to the front of the race, whether their gambling on that or not I donno, a better bet would be diversification, IE something to fall back on, A back up plan you must have, according to Murphy's law if you have a back up plan your not gonna need one because your less likely to fail. A back up plan would keep them up and running if something did not work out and would farther insure the reopening of the caverns, but it may take additional time, and Hay Whats URU without Cyan?

Murphy's law states "anything that can go wrong will go wrong" SO IF your prepaired for everything to go wrong the only thing that can go wrong is nothing will go wrong.......Right?......Right. stick that in your hat and smoke it Murhpy Very Happy

So kick back relax play something in the Myst Series brush up on your Myst puzzles and History or what ever, at the very least we can all show them our support and and that we are ready to fill the Caverns as soon as they open
