A linking book is discovered, it leads into a jungle age. You use the link and you find yourself at what seems to be a campsite of some kind. You look around and you notice your all alone aside from a few curios animals. near the edge of the site near some supplies is an old sea chest, you open it and find among other things a journal of the people who last used the site You start to read it and you realize the campsite is all thats left of the explorers that where conducting research on the civilization that used to inhabit the jungle several hundred years ago,

The researcher disappeared just like the ancient civilization, without explanation. but before the ancient civilization disappeared they built mysterious machine to exploit a power source that seems to violate the laws of physics. This is what the explorers were researching. As you read farther threw the journal you discover that several pages are missing and for some reason your Relto book is not working................................

what happens next???

As you investigate further into the jungle, you discover the fallen KI of one of the Explorers. On it is a snapshot, but it's blurry and hard to make out, as if it was taken while moving. There appears to be something glowing in the background, and the focus of the picture is on a dark figure, roughly humanoid in shape. Near the KI is one of the missing pages from the journal, detailing that the machine appeared surprisingly well kept considering that it had been abandoned for hundreds of years. As you move further from the campsite, you can see a fresh trail, presumably formed by the explorer group that was previously here. Even though you've walked a significant distance, your Relto still appears to be inoperative, and your KI is having trouble (well, more than usual) as well, the screen flickers when you bring up the holographic display and the chat feature isn't responding. When you look up, however, you can see a tall structure in the distance...

Continuing to walk toward the structure your KI becomes completely useless and the linking panel of your Relto book is beginning to heat up and becomes unbearably hot so you put it down on a large stone, where you notice other linking books that seemed to have the same problem and another page from the journal near by stuck to a the thorn of an tree that you remember seeing in the Haven age in one of your previous journeys. The books are chard almost beyond recognition as if they had succumb to the same force that has effected your book. The Journal page is one of the last entry and it discribes the whole group having the same issues that you have just encountered and suggest that they may be in the structure that stands before you. You look behind you and try to see the camp site in the distance and realize your only hope may be in the structure ahead. So you walk up to it and start looking for a way in and instead you find....................................

... that you have lost your lunch. The full impact of having lost your Relto book has hit you, and you are beginning to feel very sick. You hear a voice to your left. You turn and look. You think that you see Yeesha. She is very faint, though. The seems to be straining to tell you something. You think that you hear, "Monsters from the Id". She fades. You wonder if it was just a hallucination. On the rock next to the books, you see a marshmallow. It is starting to roast from the heat of the books. You think you hear a voice, "Use it wisely, friend. No second chances".

You break a stick off of a nearby tree to skewer the marshmallow before it start to burn, having misplaced your lunch it might be a good snack to tide you over until later, but instead of skewering the marshmallow you knock it over and it rolls onto some dry leaves, so you try to put it out my stomping on it expecting it to stick to the bottom of your boots, you realize its not a marshmallow at all in fact it seems to be rather solid. A white marshmallow shaped stone that burns?? Then a dark humanoid figure turns up although you cant quite make out who it is from a distance, it seems to be shifting from one shape another (more hallucinations)?? by looking at its face it seems to be straining as if it is having some kind of problem the strange dark figure can't seem to hold its shape and keeps on changing from one shape to another. Not being sure what to do at this point you pick up the stone marshmallow as the figure you where just watching is making jesters as if the problems its having is suddenly started to restrict it from speaking it seems to be suggesting that the burning stone marshmallow is or may be part of a puzzle used to gain entry to the structure. Then the dark figure fades away leaving another page with drawings on it.

As walk around trying to make sense of everything you have just seen, you find a rather large stone alter and a hole just big enough for the stone marshmallow to fit into. In front is a design on the wall of the structure that may be a door, remembering the voice you heard Use it wisely, friend. No second chances you realize that this may be a security lock and without any chance to Panic link you must get it right the first time. So taking a deep breath preparing your self for anything you place the stone marshmallow into the hole in the alter the alter seems to absorbe the stone marshmallow, the ground starts to shake as what seems to be a Myst like Puzzle presents itself. using a pen and a pad of paper you picked up at the camp ground the jounel and anything that may have been a clues to solving the puzzle you sit down and try to figure it out.

The first thing you notice is that a couple of symbols are etched into what seems to be a stone panel. The first of these is what looks like a tallish isosceles triangle in a circle with a line through it diagonally; to the right of this is what seems to be a crude drawing of a lightbulb. Beside these, on the stone itself, sits no marshmallow.

of course this was only one small part of a very large puzzle lock, if I where to gain access to the structure I would hafta not only study but decipher all of the many aspects of the puzzle lock, figure out how they interact and preform all of the actions needed in a spacific order..............the first time, and find some Graham crackers and Hershey bars for all these know marshmallows that keep turning up. :- )

You suddenly hear a loud noise similar to thunder after a very close lightning strike. In fact, there is even a flash of light. When you turn, you realize that it wasn't a lightning strike. A red Isuzu Impulse has appeared, and it is heading in your general direction. Initially heading at a good speed, it begins to slow down. It strikes the remains of a square column that had once been part of the structure that housed the altar. Something is dislodged, and lands a few feet away. It bothers you that a piece of what seems to be 20th century technology has invaded this world. Yet the familiariy of the object also piques your curiousity. You figure that it's just one of the many possibilities that could have happened in this world.

Before investigating the car, you look around where the object landed to see what it was. It appears to be some sort of KI. It doesn't appear to be functional, though. You keep it with you. You walk toward the car. The car smacked the column pretty good, but it isn't damaged too much. The structure seems to have been made of some pretty hard material as well, so it seems mostly intact. The car seems to be unoccupied. The keys are in the ignition, but they are hot to the touch. There is a parachute in the passenger seat. Having seen Back to the Future, you think that this vehicle was probably designed as a time machine. Aside from being an Isuzu, the equipment seems definitely inspired from the movie. Nothing is working, though.

Through the windshield, you notice a feature that you hadn't noticed before. There seems to be an alabaster arm protruding from a small stone pedestal near the alter. There is a hand on the end of it. You have an idea, but you decide to move the car first. You are able to put the car in neutral and push it out of the way. You push it into a small depression about ten feet away. It's just deep enough to keep the car from rolling. Before leaving the car, you check the glovebox. It contains a pair of gloves, and a tire guage.

You shove the gloves into your pocket and you take the tire guage. As you are about to skootch out of the car you happen to glance at the rear view mirror in which objects are closer than they appear. The mirror is strangely smudged and you cannot resist using your sleeve to clean it. Upon doing so, you feel a strange tingly sensation and begin to feel a bit ill again. Looking into the by now clean mirror you notice something strange.

In the mirror, you can see the arm, the altar, the stone panel and even the symbols, but there is no marshmallow.

Carrying the tire guage with you, you run back to investigate.

But before you do you look into the back seat and notice a box of graham crackers and a package of Hershey bars, in you ill state the frustration is to much for you to bear and you let out a scream AHHHHHHH WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO ME. After gaining your composer, you take a second look threw the mirror and realize the reason why the puzzle was so difficult is because it was all backward so you take the mirror off of the car, thinking it may help and return to the puzzle. You notice the damage to one of the column that dislodged something has revealed another clue but in your ill state you suddenly feel weak and before you have a chance to analyze the clue you slowly fall to the ground on a soft patch of what seems to be moss and pass out.

All the marshmallow references has acted like the power of suggestion and, in the dream your eating a giant marshmallow. The dark figure walks out of the distance as your sleeping, it turns out to be a strange looking Bahro with green eyes, he walks toward you and watches as you continue to eat a large clump of moss that in your dream is that giant marshmallow. He continues to watch is curios amusement ur uh amazment and

He asks, "May I Bahro your watch?"
"Just kidding.", he adds.

You then realize that you are a lot sicker than you imagined. You are pretty sure the bahro did not say that. You do get the impression that the bahro is trying to communicate with you, but you're not sure that you can trust your ears. (or even your eyes) You try to remember if you have at least brought some asprin. You can't shake the impression that the bahro is becoming even more amused. In your delirious state a feeling of panic hits you, and you think, "Where's my pillow!"

You are apparently still dreaming. As soon as the thought occurs to you, the world fades and transitions somehow into an entirely different place. You are standing on top of one of the buildings in Teledahn. A bahro appears atop one of the other buildings in the distance and starts dancing. Another one appears on another building and joins him in the dance. Soon, more join him (or her). You hear a sinister voice say in a heavy whisper, "Bahroes, Bahroes, Bahroes, Bahroes..." The voice gets louder and starts to sound like laughter. You hear Yeesha shout, "Escher! Escher!" Escher appears with a look of malevolence. He walks toward you, and his intent seems to be ending your life. You look for a place to escape, but there is none. The roof is fairly large, though. You probably could evade him, but it's also possible that you could fall off. The roof is somewhat curved and slippery in spots.

You then hear Yeesha yell, "Watch out! He's a snake!" Escher's eyes start glowing yellow, and his pupils elongate into snake-like eyes. He lunges toward you, and you grab for his neck. With all your might, you attempt to strangle him into submission. Suddenly, you hear a loud crack. You suddenly return to your senses. Your hands are closed tightly around the alabaster arm, and somehow you have managed to place the spare KI onto it. You are covered in sweat, and you can hear and feel grinding beneath the earth.

You look at the KI on the alabaster arm and you notice its working but its producing bright red letters that say run, so you run down the path toward the old camp you arrived at , you turn around as a dome similar to the fire marble puzzle back at Riven rises up from the ground, the ground starts to shake even more from the grinding beneath your feet, as you notice where the site once was is now a large starry fissure, you start to panic as you notice the linking books by the large stone, you use the gloves to sort threw them without burning your hand in hopes that one of them might still work, you see a panel on one of the books is working and you link out as you hand starts to burn threw the glove. Then when you arrive you look around and find your self exactly where you started, at the camp site, but its not the same Jungle, in fact its not a jungle at all, it actually looks like Teledahn but it was only a dream or was it? you realize that this is a part that had been inaccessible, you had never seen before as if it was never opened to people. You start to take a walk-about to see if you can get your bearings, to find out where in Teledahn you are and you soon find out why this part of Teledahn was not opened to people. Its a place of celebration.........for the Bahro. After translating the Text that had been written in the old D'ni language (which they learned in our absence) you realize the Bahro where celebrating the reopening of the Caverns. Apparently they missed all the visitors they used to have, and even thought WE seldom saw them THEY had apparently saw us quite frequently, and very much enjoyed the watching the glitch hunters according to the D'ni text they dubbed one of them the Glitch Queen.

and then
