I just ran into a technical issue in the Compass Rose Diagram Chamber. After pushing what I believe is the correct button on the compass, the screen appears to be locked in a blackout condition. I believe that I pushed the correct button since the music is still playing (no alarm) and water is bubbling. However, the screen is all black and is not responding to motion inputs. I can move the red page that I have and access the information window, but there is no motion in the chamber. I have pasted the chamber window into one of my bookmarks. I can easily go back to another bookmarked location and it functions properly, but when I return to the chamber, it is still all black and unresponsive.

First what are the specs of the device are you using?
also can you tell me if you touched the screen as the game was coming out of the zoomed in state or did you allow it to come out on it's own?

Hey Mystdee

I am running a first gen iPhone with OS 2.2.1. I do not remember if I touched the screen as it was coming out of the zoomed state. I might have since most situations require you to touch the side of the side of the screen to get out of the zoomed state. It went black at the same split moment that the music seemed to change.

Exactly the same problem here. After entering the correct angle all lights of the compass went on and the display zoomed out. Then the screen stayed totally black and i only heard the sounds. Also bookmarking this situation and loading the bookmark of this gamesave does not help.
Please fix it with an update because i do not want to replay the whole game.

PS: Amazing work to bring Myst to iPhone! Please consider also about bringing my favorite game Riven to the iPhone!

I am hopelessly trapped in this room, I hear the water, the music, but the screen is totally black and there is no way to get any movement! For all I know I'm just zooming in and out, who knows, not so much as a little green light to help you....Nothing....black darkness! Trapped, a deep dark nothing.........No Game! Please HELP! I was sooooo excited to see my favorite game from the past on the iPhone, but as Springsteen says " but now I'm trapped"

Right now until a fix is released, it seems the only way out is by using a previous save game, or to start a new game,

Is anyone working on this issue? I restarted the game, completed all other worlds and I am re-stuck. Obviously I am here until you guys fix this issue.

I JUST ran into the same problem.

I hit a wrong button first, had to navigate the dark tunnels to get out (at this point, I could see the screen) and reset the generator, then made my way back in only to hit the correct button, it began to zoom out on its own (by the way, in answer to your question earlier, Mystdee), and then... darkness. I could hear all the sounds, I had a page on the lower-left and the 'i' button in the lower-right, but no interface at all.

So, Mystdee, I don't mind waiting for an update, but any idea when that patch should be out? I'd love the ability to keep playing the game that I purchased. Wink

I've also been advertising for this product like crazy and hope to be able to resume doing so soon.

edit: One more thing. I don't believe this will make a difference, but I'm on a 16GB iPhone using v3.0 beta 5.

Can't give you an exact date. They are working on it, and of course then I suppose it will have to go through Apple before it is available, But hopefully soon. ( yeah, I know, that's a safe answer Laughing
