Im not completely sure if i am missing something here or not but when i press the button in the library elevator it just makes an alarm type noise but does not move. Am I missing a step to activate the elevator or am I having a bug type issue? I have played Myst before and do not remember having to do anything to get the elevator to move. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

It won't move if the elevator door is open. That gets me once in a while too. You have to close the door, then press the button
