Got the BSOD (Black Screen of Death): Not sure if this is the same as the other black screen bugs or related specifically to the compass problem. This was running on iPhone 3GS.

Game just shows a solid black screen in mechanical age in the hidden room that is between the two bedrooms in the little crawlway.

Second time I was in there just clicked on the compass but didn't touch anything. Then clicked away to look around and screen is completely black and I have no navigation. Just stuck on a black screen.

I guess four hours of Game play down the drain. Next time I will use the save games feature...

Are you talking about Stoneship? Mechanical age is the one with the rotating fortress. . . Stoneship is the one with the two halves of the ship Imbedded in rock. If it's Stoneship it is a known issue and hopefully even with the 3.0 will be resolved with the update we re all waiting for Apple to approve Laughing

* taps toe once again, wondering what Is taking them so long Confused

Yes, meant Stoneship, sorry.

Ok, thanks. Guess I will start Myst from the beginning...

Also, have you noticed the problem where it uses up a lot more battery now on the iPhone 3GS (maybe just with 3.0 iPhone OS?).

I saw this post, and thought it might help your developers locate the battery drain:

"Many developers have chimed in saying that patches have been submitted, but that Apple's approval process is backlogged even further than usual with the release of 3.0. One common theme seems to be that music or audio may be contributing to the problems due to a change in audio behavior in 3.0. So, if you are noticing problems turning off sound or music may be the first thing to try while you wait for the updates."
