Hmm... even if it does auto-expand on Windows (every time you set its text, I assume), I don't think that's what it's supposed to do. What I expect it to do when you specify wxDefaultSize is that it computes the size of the text you give to the constructor and uses that as its fixed size from then on. But I'm not sure, I've always used those controls in sizers.

Who knows... Windows stuff does strange things.

Just an update on this... I was testing this today, and it seems that Windows completely ignores the width and height of the StaticText control. I can set it to something completely too small (1, 1) and the text still shows up as if I had the control set to the proper size.

By the way, I've updated the OP with some screenshots of how the program looks on my Windows XP system.

I've made a quick update to YAPP -- I'm now using sizers instead of absolute positioning, so maybe the GUI will look better on a Mac now... if one of you Mac users could test it for me I would appreciate it. Smile

Looks good now! I've updated my screenshot (may need a reload if it's still in your cache):

And the window is even resizable!

By the way, the first post still says “Download Latest Version (1.0.0)”.

Sweet! It worked on the first try! Very Happy It looks good too, if I do say so myself. Wink

Yeah, I had resizing disabled before, since I was using absolute positioning and it wouldn't have been useful, but I figured with the sizers it would probably be good for cross-platform functionality to allow it (though I did set a minimum size)

Oops Embarassed Guess I missed that one when I updated the post, should be fixed now!

Thanks for the testing and feedback! Smile

Hello Herohtar!

I just wanted to let you know, as well as everyone else, that your portal timing prediction program (YAPP) still works even after 3 years.

I just got back from Dereno, where I successfully picked up my first of four rotating stone ring sections.

A great and very much appreciated program! Very Happy

Thanks again,
Buddy

Yea it goes to one of those cybersquatter pages, I hate those things.

What ever happened to an old-fashioned client-side 404, huh?

Mac_Fife posted a link to a download mirror in another thread. I included it in the collection of available Pod Age Calendars/Portal Predictors available here: http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19549

Buddy: Thanks! It's good to know this is still working for people. Smile

Marein: Yeah, those links aren't good any more; my website has changed since then (I have my own domain now instead of the myvnc.com subdomain) and I never bothered to update the post since MOUL had been shut down. Looks like I'll have to do that now. Smile

The.Modificator: Thanks for the link! I somehow lost the compiled file and when I tried compiling it again on my Windows 7 system I found that it didn't work on certain computers with older operating systems.

Anyway, I'll work on getting everything together again and update my post.

Okay, I've updated the initial post to point to the correct locations... the source version should still work on both Windows and MacOS, however, I've had some trouble with the compiled version running on older versions of Windows, so that may be a problem until I can get that fixed.

As of today, the predictor is several minutes late, like 4 or more.

That lateness may depend on time zones or server lag. I've been using this predictor since it was released and it has always been accurate to less than a minute. I used it two days ago and it was spot on. But in the past, I've been waiting in a Pod and talking with other players and the portals arrive at different times. Normally within 10 or 20 seconds of each other but once it took a minute to reach all the players. Question
