Post Posted: Wed Mar 03, 2010 12:24 am — Post subject: Phil's Relto Gathering!

Hey everybody,

I got an idea: With almost 14000 accounts on the MO:ULagain servers already, I would find it funny to gather as many people as possible on such a small space like Phil's Relto.

So bring some food and something to drink for a nice PRG (I just invented this TLA). Wink

EDIT: We have a date:

PST: 2010-03-06 (March 6th, 2010) at 13:00 / 1 pm

EST: 2010-03-06 (March 6th, 2010) at 16:00 / 4 pm

UTC/GMT: 2010-03-06 (March 6th, 2010) at 21:00 / 9 pm

CET: 2010-03-06 (March 6th, 2010) at 22:00 / 10 pm

For everybody interested: Go to this web page: http://doodle.com/eeynbn8zbk4a7cpp

...and type in your name and check the times you can make it for such a gathering. (Select your own time zone from the box there.) I'll post the final date here on the Myst Online forums. Ah - and please spread this link also to other (also non-English) forums!

By the way - it would also be great if some of you Cyan guys could also make it! Wink

Cheers,

The.Modificator

I've put my name down. Very Happy

And whilst we're there, how about seeing how many people can get onto the mountainside without overlapping? Laughing

Sounds fun, let's just hope that we don't break anything. Smile
From my red zones, it looks like I have a ton of stuff to do... I don't really, I just am only really free after 3:00.
(No, don't plan it around me, I was just mentioning it for no reason.)

So in on this....just keep in mind there are other events going on this weekend so server killing might not be a good thing...

Actually I'm pretty sure that the server can handle something like this. I remember stress testing the Uru Live public beta servers during the GameTap time (as many people as possible gathered in the city)... the biggest problems were the lag (since we did the stress tests in the city there were many more things the graphics part of the Uru engine had to render - this is definitely not the case for Phil's Relto) and crashing clients of some people (so not the server crashed, but some participating players were kicked out of the game - and if I remember correctly this was not a problem with the third GameTap Uru Live beta stress test anymore, i.e. they stabilized the client in this regard).

So don't be afraid. It'll end well, I'm sure. Wink

I'm wondering... is Phil's Relto a good place for that? The Relto hut camera bug there was never fixed. So people really need to stay away from that bookshelf.

'fraid not.

KI time is MST (Mountain Standard Time - GMT - 7) because that's the time zone of New Mexico.

It's happening now and going well. Little to no lag, and over 30 people so far.
