Hi folks!

I'm not one of the most recognised D'nijane's that has ever been around and I don't really want attempt to be one but I think there may now be a way to get me a few more listeners.

I've set my sound system and Winamp to do voice over and had a private audience for means of testing with Lord Chaos.
He said that people would love my accent (sort of British), so I would like to give the station a little boost and go out into the big world equipped with my music and my voice.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of time left to do this. I will be moving soon and can't take my whole computer equipment with me. So whatever happens, has to happen soon.

I would like to ask the Rooftop Volunteer Group for some support setting up a party before my leave. The date I would aim for is the 10th of July. I leave it up to you to decide which time would be best to gather a good crowd. I don't mind getting up early or staying until very late. Obviously you have to take the time difference into consideration.

Hitana, I vaguely recall hearing your voice back in my greeter days and I agree that it's quite pleasant and would lend itself well to D'niJing. I think it's great that you're going to give it a try and will do what I can to support your efforts.

It seems to me that LC has always had good luck with early start times to include our European friends, so I would suggest following his example (or even an hour or two earlier):
10:00 US Pacific
11:00 US Mountain
12:00 US Central
13:00 US Eastern
17:00 UTC
18:00 British
19:00 Central European

Let me know if there's anything I can do to assist in organizing the event. I have a RL event later in the evening, but I'll certainly be at your event if/when I can. Good luck! Very Happy

Type the following address into your search bar: hitana.listen2myradio.com

Hitana!!! Shocked ... you really, in earnest intend to leave the most impressive, outstanding
cosmopolitan city in the world, our wonderful BERLIN behind for the UK???...
She must be very in love... I tell ya... Wink

Ok, seriously, I love changes, to move on for whatever reason and going with the flow... Razz

I can also confirm and I agree that she's really gifted in languages... I once attended a
D'ni language class she provided in the old MOUL days... her lessons were just excellent...

Dearest Hitana, I'm wishing you the best of luck in the world from the deepest of my heart,
and it sounds like a great idea to have a 'Happy Move-Hello UK' party... The chosen time
frame and the date are perfect as well... This promises to be lots of fun, I'll definitely be there... Very Happy

Awww thanks so much for all your wishes Jana!

Just a secret between the 2 of us: Wink There are people who don't like big, full cities.

Besides LEEDS is impressive, outstanding and cosmopolitan too. And in the middle of a lovely landscape! Very Happy

And no: I'm not in love...well at least not with someone. Just with the country. Embarassed

I have a serious request. Can you please give the time in cavern time so I can work it out. Australia really is the dark side of the planet when everyone else is awake and frolicking and I don't do the maths terribly well.

Love your description of having a 'sort of' British accent. This one has me chuckling. Very Happy

Hope you enjoy your time in Leeds: there are plenty of lovely small towns and villages for you to explore.

The cavern is in Mountain time, so the start time will be 12:00 KI time.

I don't know if I'll be able to come to your party but I just wanted to say welcome to Leeds! Hope you enjoy your time here.

As the event is getting closer things are becoming pretty funny here. We are going to sweep my flat out of the remaining furniture on exactly THAT saturday, which means that I will probably sitting on the ground with the computer on boxes (or something else) and do the show. It's all a very improvised situation and the show itself may become the same once the set playlist runs out.

Speaking of the playlist, I'd like to give some idea of what we are going to hear:

Dancing music from the 50ties to the 80ties

A set of music from the UK

Music that played an important part in my life

A few surprises and of course requests

It would be great if at least one of the "Roofies" could be there to pass the instructions on how to listen out, as well as mentioning that requests should be send by PM.

*is getting excited*

I'll be there, and I think Jane will be for part of the party. She has other things going on that conflict. I'm not sure Vinnie has gotten the word, as I've not talked with him in a while.

Hitana, I really wish I could make it, but unfortunately I'll be away on a service project all of this weekend and next week, without internet access. Good luck with the move!

Hi Hitana!

I was out of town last week & didn't see this thread right away--just wanted to say how sorry I am I can't help with the party--& even sorrier that I'm going to miss a big chunk (at least) of it. Sad I have a workshop tomorrow that runs all day--I don't get out until 5 PM KI Time. I will certainly come see if you are still there when I get home! but I know that will be getting late for you. Just in case I don't get to see you, have a wonderful time, a move as easy as a move can be, & of course safe journeys. Smile Shorah b'shem!

(Hmmm. Have you thought of (also) having an "arrival" party once you get settled in Leeds? Just a thought. Smile )
