I like to share this sad message with you:

Shadowcats has passed away. He left us on June 24th, 2010.

I took the freedom to post this message which was posted on the Guild of Greeters Forum:

It is with great regret and profound sadness that we post here to inform all friends, past and present, of these forums and these games that our dear friend, guild member and brother has passed away.

Shadowcats, The Wizard of Oz, who for so many of us personified this foundation of this guild and all it stood for, and who was for many of us our first and best introduction to this game, left us on June 24th, 2010. His passing was not unexpected, as he battled his illness all the time, but we had somehow come to believe that we would always have him with us anyway.

He will be deeply mourned across all the worlds that greeters occupy and not just for for his sense of humour, his excitement and passion for whatever it was he happened to be doing at that moment, his wonderful generosity, his innate shyness, his outrageous spelling, and the bright light of his unquenchable spirit but for his all the endless hours he put in over the years to make this guild work.

For a long time now, we have missed him standing on the fountain or curled up in his corner. Finally, we know he will come no more.

May he be purring and linking, questing and farming, and above all laughing to his heart's content now, wherever in this wide universe he happens to be.

Shadowcats was a great person. He will be very much missed. My sympathies to his family and friends.

What a beautiful tribute for a wonderful and extraordinary person... Thanks for posting that,
dear Veralun, and for the link to the Greeter's farewell thread with messages of so much love
and appreciation as well...

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all of his friends and fellow explorers for their
great loss... Wishing you all the best, dearest Cats, and much Blessings Love and Light where
ever your journey may take you further on...

Is their a chance perhaps his name can be added to the Memorial in the Pub of D'ni? I don't recall meeting him myself however I can see he has made quite an impact on the community as a Greeter.

Im sure the Myst fans who passed before him will welcome him with open arms into a place im sure he will find familiar.

I second this motion. Given that I am exactly the same, I do not believe I can do much more to add to this.
