A lot of people have asked me about the future of Heritage Night, now that we've completed the story. I talked about this at the end of our finale but I should probably post something here for the people who weren't there, since that part isn't part of the log.

I would love to see Heritage Night continue. The general consensus on how that would work seems to be simply going back to where we started--the Great Scream and starting over, following basically the same format as before. I myself will probably not be AS involved as I was before--life is about to become busier for me and I probably won't have the time to host--but I'd love to see others take up that responsibility. DimensionTravelerCalum, who was Heritage Night's first major supporter and who was invaluable in setting it up and running it, has expressed a desire to continue the event and I suspect that if no one else steps up, he'd be happy to host more Heritage Nights.

I do have a couple of words of advice for those who continue the tradition, if they do. First, have HN at a different day and time. There were many people who wanted to attend but were unable to make our time slot, so it would be nice to accomodate them in the "second cycle". Second, to any new hosts: pay attention to any advice Calum has. After me, he's the one most experienced with the event and he's had a chance to learn what works and what doesn't. Third, regarding who should be allowed to host: we may want to loosen the requirement a little. Previously the rule was that the host had to have been present at some point during Gametap MOUL. However, these days there's not nearly as many explorers who were around for those days (which is why we started HN in the first place), so my suggestion would be to let newer explorers host as well--however, anyone who WASN'T around for the original events should at least be a veteran of Heritage Night itself (i.e. attended several of the presentations), and should be willing to do enough research. Even then, I still think it's better to have someone who can share their own personal experiences from those days.

It looks like if we do continue, it won't be until after the New Year.

Post Posted: Sun Jan 02, 2011 7:18 am — Post subject: Any interest in making a Quest Game using History?

I attended the first meeting and it was really good and well done.
But when I came for the following meetings it became a hit or miss event were nobody showed up and it eventually conflicted with other established events.
I eventually fell away mostly due to forgetting when it was as with other cavern events.
Is it going to continue and start again with additional history content added?

I started out in the Beta game of the GameTap MOUL, last all the way to the end.
In fact, My Quest Series of Games Story was based upon events of explorers that had stayed behind after the cavern closed down. Although the quest stories are edited down versions of my original 2008 AGE Story I wrote for Open Source back when we all believed in OPEN SOURCE as a reality soon to be.

Although I don't recall every part to all of the episodes I have good basic knowledge.
I kept notes and even took down a Roll-Call of explorers at some of the events.
I guess that list would be sort of a Who's Who now of MOUL. again, though fewer and fewer of those explorers are around.

I was going to create a Clue Quest Puzzle game for my Quest Game Series of games using the MOUL in-game Journals & Book of Kings Content as the material. I thought some of the content could be made into some clue text markers to a D’ni History solution game. Sort of a D'ni History Mystery Quest Series of Quest Game Puzzles might be developed.

I was wondering if there were any in the Heritage Cavern event interested in collaborating with me of developing a Clue Quest game using D'ni History to a Mystery Theme Clue Quest? Ki# 065 95 122

I am wondering if perhaps you got the day or time wrong? We never had a problem with attendance--we pretty much always had 20-30 people there by the middle of the event, although we usually started with only about 10-15. I am also unaware of our time conflicting with other events--we picked the Tuesday 16:00 time because no other events were scheduled with the Messengers for that time, and it seemed that there was never anything else going on when we started other than the usual (people playing Marker games, trying to get on top of the tent, etc.)

I did mention I likely could have forgotten the correct day & time and had it wrong and thus thought it was when another event was, when it wasn't. I wish Ae'gura City had an Imager that could post in-cavern regular events for us to check.
I assume you have posted the time & day in the bevin imager? Now if I can remember to go there and look!

So we are to find a way and make a home. By this it is understood that we make a home in D'ni and find a way of ending the Bahro war by making and exploring new Ages? How exactly will the new Ages help?

cedward1--good question. Dr. Watson told us in his speech that Yeesha was visiting every Age she could find in a desperate search to find something--anything--that would end the Bahro war, or at least afford us some protection. Watson also pointed out that statistically, with every D'ni Age she explored, it became increasingly unlikely that anything would be found in the D'ni Ages (because every time she searches an Age and fails, that's one less Age that might have something that can help). According to Watson, this is why eventually we would need NEW Ages to search, and so he encouraged explorers to seek out, to Write, and to explore new Ages.

Now, from a purely OOC (out-of-cavern) standpoint...we're actually not going to find anything to end the Bahro War until such a time as Cyan is able to put resources back into the Uru story. So, although the goal "inside the story" is to Write new Ages and explore them for anything that would help resolve the Bahro problems, we actually already know "outside the story" that that won't happen anytime soon.

Hope that helps.

Posting on behalf of Cal:

"I'd have put this up myself, but things have piled up a bit... First, the MOUL forums keep refusing to send emails, so I can neither reactivate my old account, nor make a new one, and secondly, any chance to sort it out after the last HN got blown out of the water by a randomly appearing cold."

(01/25 18:03:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Okay then
(01/25 18:03:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: For those of us who were just in Ae'gura
(01/25 18:03:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: You will have noticed the bahro there, swarming the arch
(01/25 18:03:41) hoodedwarbler12: They sounded mad
(01/25 18:03:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: The last time I saw something like that,
(01/25 18:03:4Cool Lynnutte nods
(01/25 18:03:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Was nearly three years ago now
(01/25 18:03:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: In the time of the last URU
(01/25 18:04:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: We knew what those bahro wanted, but, we don't know what these ones want
(01/25 18:04:16) Dra: hey
(01/25 18:04:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Except, maybe
(01/25 18:04:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: To pass along a message
(01/25 18:04:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nothing is normal.
(01/25 18:04:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: You see,
(01/25 18:04:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: normal, as the dictionary says
(01/25 18:04:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Is defined as "Perpindicular to a Tangent"
(01/25 18:05:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: You may wonder, then
(01/25 18:05:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: What is Normal?
(01/25 18:05:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: There are two ways to interpret it.
(01/25 18:05:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: One is that, perhaps, nothing is always the same
(01/25 18:05:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: That is what I will go with, yes.
(01/25 18:06:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: December 19th,
(01/25 18:06:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: 2007.
(01/25 18:06:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC had returned to the cavern,
(01/25 18:06:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: And brought with them new funding, in the form of Cate Alexander,
(01/25 18:06:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: This period was known as "D'mala"
(01/25 18:07:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: And it was about to end with a scream
(01/25 18:07:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: A very, loud, powerful scream
(01/25 18:07:19) DaVinci: booo Cate
(01/25 18:07:23) Dra: haha
(01/25 18:07:34) DimensionTravelerCalum rolls his eyes
(01/25 18:07:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: anyways, you all might know what this scream was
(01/25 18:07:54) DoveArrow: Nope.
(01/25 18:07:56) DoveArrow: Can't say I do.
(01/25 18:07:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Considering, that we've been hearing lots of similar ones this past week
(01/25 18:08:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a bahro.
(01/25 18:08:07) hoodedwarbler12: It broke a wall in Gahreesen.
(01/25 18:08:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Screaming so loud and powerful,
(01/25 18:08:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: That it was heard across ALL Ages
(01/25 18:08:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Even on the surface
(01/25 18:08:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: It didn't matter where you were,
(01/25 18:08:40) hoodedwarbler12: that's loud
(01/25 18:08:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Kemo, Relto, Ae'gura,
(01/25 18:08:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was heard nonetheless
(01/25 18:08:4Cool DoveArrow: That's creepy.
(01/25 18:08:51) Dra: very
(01/25 18:08:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: And it's effects were still long lasting
(01/25 18:08:54) Dra: you should see the video
(01/25 18:09:01) Mireena: it was awesome
(01/25 18:09:03) Jayim Duinara: That must have been one powerful Bahro.
(01/25 18:09:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: You see,
(01/25 18:09:0Cool Dra: or several Bahro Smile
(01/25 18:09:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC were holding a town hall meeting,
(01/25 18:09:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Right here in this very room, I suspect
(01/25 18:09:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: Anyways, it was rather sudden
(01/25 18:09:42) DoveArrow laughs
(01/25 18:09:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Laxman opened his ki, recieving a KI mail from someone.
(01/25 18:10:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: He barely managed "What the...?"
(01/25 18:10:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Before the scream errupted
(01/25 18:10:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, with out a single second to react,
(01/25 18:10:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: Everyone was linked
(01/25 18:10:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Out of their ages, even off of the surface
(01/25 18:10:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: Right to a Relto.
(01/25 18:10:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: December 19th, 2007, the day of the Great Scream
(01/25 18:11:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nothing would ever be the same again
(01/25 18:11:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Normality, as it were, was shattered.
(01/25 18:11:1Cool Jayim Duinara: To a specific Relto? or to their own Relto?
(01/25 18:11:20) Dra: empty Relto, that is?
(01/25 18:11:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: To their own relto,
(01/25 18:11:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yes,
(01/25 18:11:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: Empty of all rewards,
(01/25 18:11:31) hoodedwarbler12: oh
(01/25 18:11:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Relto wasn't the only thing affected either,
(01/25 18:11:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: All the ages were reset
(01/25 18:11:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: As if we had never solved them
(01/25 18:11:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Teledahn? Powerless
(01/25 18:11:56) hoodedwarbler12: *sniff*
(01/25 18:12:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: Gira? Lightless.
(01/25 18:12:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Kadish? Locked once more.
(01/25 18:12:14) Jayim Duinara: Ouch. That would not have been pleasant.
(01/25 18:12:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yes, it was rather annoying.
(01/25 18:12:22) hoodedwarbler12: hmm-mmm
(01/25 18:12:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, it was something,
(01/25 18:12:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: And it would become our new "Normal"
(01/25 18:13:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Ae'gura, over the following months,
(01/25 18:13:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Would be restored to it's former, pre-scream glory,
(01/25 18:13:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, it too, was changed
(01/25 18:13:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: Rocks had fallen, buildings weakened
(01/25 18:13:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Earth quakes had taken out the bridge
(01/25 18:14:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Again.
(01/25 18:14:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: the DRC were concerned,
(01/25 18:14:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Why had a scream done so much damage?
(01/25 18:14:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: We would never find out, I suspect.
(01/25 18:15:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a month after the scream that The DRC tried to restore normality of a new kind.
(01/25 18:15:0Cool Dra: (the screams, however, happen when Bahro use their powers. might be that)
(01/25 18:15:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: They released a new age, Eder Delin.
(01/25 18:15:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: A beautiful garden of trees and and plants
(01/25 18:15:45) hoodedwarbler12: And snow
(01/25 18:15:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: It had already been delayed twice already,
(01/25 18:15:49) Jayim Duinara: It is beautiful.
(01/25 18:15:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: Once because of a massive freak weather storm,
(01/25 18:16:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: The other, well, humorously enough,
(01/25 18:16:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: Due to a distribution error
(01/25 18:16:24) hoodedwarbler12: That'll do it
(01/25 18:16:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Delin and Tsogal had been released at the same time at once,
(01/25 18:16:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Quite the mishap
(01/25 18:16:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: Both books were recalled,
(01/25 18:16:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: And it wasn't later in the day that Delin officially was released.
(01/25 18:17:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then, We found ourselves faced with a challenge right off the bat.
(01/25 18:17:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: A puzzle unlike any we had seen before,
(01/25 18:17:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Seven cloths, one door,
(01/25 18:17:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: And yet, they didn't react the way we expected.
(01/25 18:17:49) Jayim Duinara: I've been trying to figure that one out at the moment.
(01/25 18:17:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: This was the first of many "Ring" Challenges that came about
(01/25 18:18:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Tsogal was tied to this puzzle as well,
(01/25 18:18:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Due to those lucky enough to link through durring the time it was available
(01/25 18:18:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: We saw the same cloths, and we knew the ages were linked
(01/25 18:18:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: But we didn't know how.
(01/25 18:18:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: The puzzle was soon figured out,
(01/25 18:18:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: And we all claimed out first ring wedge,
(01/25 18:19:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: i still don't know what they do.
(01/25 18:19:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: In any case,
(01/25 18:19:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: As Carl said in the first HN last year
(01/25 18:19:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: We were rather, dis-connected
(01/25 18:20:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Just look at the Liason fiasco
(01/25 18:20:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: And this puzzle was to teach us Unity
(01/25 18:20:15) Lynnutte nods
(01/25 18:20:25) DoveArrow: Oh yeah. Wait... the what now?
(01/25 18:20:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Liasons, I'm not going to go into it, but it was a HUGE mess.
(01/25 18:20:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: bluh bluh.
(01/25 18:21:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: I think, now
(01/25 18:21:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: This will be a good time to move to our Tsogal

{Linking Shinanigans Occur, invloving atleast TWO avvies linking to an empty Tsogal}

(01/25 18:25:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: Righty,
(01/25 18:25:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: don't look at the sun anyone
(01/25 18:25:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: It's rather bright
(01/25 18:25:26) DaVinci: ahhh! I am blind!!!!
(01/25 18:25:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Okay, so...
(01/25 18:25:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Tsogal here was released proper
(01/25 18:25:3Cool hoodedwarbler12: Is that the real sun? I though we were under the ground
(01/25 18:25:47) Dra: we are, but only in D'ni
(01/25 18:25:47) hoodedwarbler12: Ah, shade
(01/25 18:25:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: We knew the puzzle for this, via Delin,
(01/25 18:25:55) Dra: these Ages are different universes
(01/25 18:25:57) Jayim Duinara: Different world now.
(01/25 18:26:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: And our second ring wedge was taken
(01/25 18:26:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: One second, seems someone else got the wrong tsogal
(01/25 18:26:37) Dra: should we do a small demo until that is sorted?
(01/25 18:26:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Right, then
(01/25 18:26:41) Dra: or at least explain it?
(01/25 18:26:4Cool DoveArrow: Please.
(01/25 18:26:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: Okay okay
(01/25 18:26:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: I'll explain the puzzle

{Puzzle explanations Later}

(01/25 18:29:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: The next ring challenge was began shortly after the release of tsogal
(01/25 18:29:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: With the release of the Pod of Negilahn,
(01/25 18:29:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a jungle,
(01/25 18:29:42) Jayim Duinara: Those pods are creepy.
(01/25 18:29:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: And supposedly filled with wildlife
(01/25 18:29:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, upon arrival,
(01/25 18:29:49) hoodedwarbler12: I saw a bird
(01/25 18:29:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: We and the DRC noticed a sever lack of animal life.
(01/25 18:30:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: And they were concerned
(01/25 18:30:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: Not a DAY before the release,
(01/25 18:30:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: The population around the pod had been normal
(01/25 18:30:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Why the sudden change?
(01/25 18:30:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: To answer that, the DRC hired Douglas Sharper
(01/25 18:30:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: To investigate
(01/25 18:30:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: He went out to explore,
(01/25 18:31:00) hoodedwarbler12: I've seen videos of bahro killing pod anima;s
(01/25 18:31:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, near the pods...
(01/25 18:31:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: Right... um...
(01/25 18:31:21) hoodedwarbler12: sorry
(01/25 18:31:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: That's not really possible, because I don't think anyone would want to see what happened to those poor creatures
(01/25 18:31:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: See
(01/25 18:31:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper found a body
(01/25 18:31:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Shredded
(01/25 18:31:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: To bits
(01/25 18:31:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Like minced meat.
(01/25 18:31:44) hoodedwarbler12: Ugh
(01/25 18:31:46) May Locks: Oh my
(01/25 18:31:4Cool Nocpo: seriously?
(01/25 18:31:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Enough to make anyone look away in horror
(01/25 18:31:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: I am not joking.
(01/25 18:32:00) hoodedwarbler12: Ugh again
(01/25 18:32:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: Some creatures,
(01/25 18:32:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: Like the Urwin,
(01/25 18:32:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: Had their heads, literally exploded right off of their bodies,
(01/25 18:32:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: This... Predator was so fast
(01/25 18:32:23) hoodedwarbler12: ugh a third time
(01/25 18:32:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the DRc were worried
(01/25 18:32:33) Lynnutte: Getting kinda graphic there aren't you Cal?
(AN: Sorry Lynn!}
(01/25 18:32:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: WE were worried.
(01/25 18:32:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: A predator that had spontaneously been introduced into the environment
(01/25 18:32:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: And what was worse?
(01/25 18:32:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was killing for the sake of killing
(01/25 18:33:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Besides mutilations,
(01/25 18:33:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: The bodies were perfectly intact,
(01/25 18:33:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nothing had been taken
(01/25 18:33:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: This... thing... was killing them for Sport.
(01/25 18:33:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: An so, time started to move on,
(01/25 18:33:39) hoodedwarbler12 is overwhelmed with confusion.
(01/25 18:33:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, despite our panic,
(01/25 18:33:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: A new puzzle revealed itself.
(01/25 18:33:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Literally involving time itself.
(01/25 18:34:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: A shimmering portal of light appeared in negilahn,
(01/25 18:34:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Across all the instances,
(01/25 18:34:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: noone knew what triggered it,
(01/25 18:34:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: or how to controll it's movements,
(01/25 18:34:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: All that was known, however, was that it lasted only a minute.
(01/25 18:34:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: So, our normal for this time became trying to figure out what the puzzle was,
(01/25 18:35:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: And what the predator wanted.
(01/25 18:35:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Dereno, the ice pod, was released next
(01/25 18:35:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the puzzle began to form in our heads,
(01/25 18:35:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: A second portal began to form in the pod,
(01/25 18:35:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Not a short time after the first in Negilahn
(01/25 18:36:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: And we realized, there was a noticble gap of time between them
(01/25 18:36:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: Dereno, you'll notice, is at the north pole of it's planet
(01/25 18:36:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Negilahn, is somewhere near it's world's equaitor
(01/25 18:36:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: We could not figure out the puzzle,
(01/25 18:36:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then,
(01/25 18:36:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: A map was given
(01/25 18:36:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: It showed a world,
(01/25 18:37:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: A planet,
(01/25 18:37:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: With Pods on it;s surface
(01/25 18:37:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC explained that the D'ni had written a Museum world,
(01/25 18:37:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: For these pods,
(01/25 18:37:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: And,
(01/25 18:37:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Believe it or not,
(01/25 18:37:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Negilahn and Dereno were on the same planet,
(01/25 18:38:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: The third pod, of the desert, Payiferen, was released next
(01/25 18:38:03) Jayim Duinara: What was the name of the Museum world?
(01/25 18:38:0Cool Dra: no idea
(01/25 18:38:17) Dra: we just know the pod names
(01/25 18:38:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: Occasionally, we call it "The great Pod planet" in D'ni.
(01/25 18:38:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: ^_^;
(01/25 18:38:35) Dra: lol, do we?
(01/25 18:38:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well, that's what it is,
(01/25 18:38:45) Jayim Duinara: Makes sense. =)
(01/25 18:38:46) Dra: yeah
(01/25 18:38:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: Anyways,
(01/25 18:38:50) Dra: but i never heard anyone say that Razz
(01/25 18:38:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: Payiferen was released,
(01/25 18:38:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: And our Key was revealed
(01/25 18:39:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: i'll skim on the specifics,
(01/25 18:39:13) Lynnutte: Me neither Dra, but it's not really important right now.
(01/25 18:39:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, one glance at the floor is all you need to know.
(01/25 18:39:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: That is the key for it,
(01/25 18:39:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: That,
(01/25 18:39:31) DimensionTravelerCalum points up
(01/25 18:39:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the sun
(01/25 18:39:42) DoveArrow: Gah!
(01/25 18:39:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Sorry! >_<;;
(01/25 18:39:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Didn't I say not to look up?
(01/25 18:40:01) Mireena: lol
(01/25 18:40:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Erm, right, before we go blind from sun gazing,
(01/25 18:40:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Let's head back to the bevin now
{LINKING OCCURS}
(01/25 18:42:2Cool Jayim Duinara: Gah, I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut. I'm way too disruptive during things like this.
(01/25 18:42:39) Heritage Night: it's no problem
(01/25 18:42:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: Link in pile up >_<;;
(01/25 18:42:52) Mireena: lol
(01/25 18:43:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: welcome back everyone!
(01/25 18:43:52) DimensionTravelerCalum peers out over the audience
(01/25 18:44:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: ah, I see some seats open in the middle row...!
(01/25 18:44:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: so, then,
(01/25 18:45:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: as the mystery with the predator deepend, our concern grew
(01/25 18:45:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: you see,
(01/25 18:45:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: it wasn't just Negilahn
(01/25 18:45:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: but Dereno, and Payiferen as well
(01/25 18:45:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: Whole populations of animals around the pods, just suddenly... dead
(01/25 18:45:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper brought in Nick White, an old friend of his durring the Early days,
(01/25 18:45:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: To help him investigate
(01/25 18:46:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Ah, Nick Nick nick.
(01/25 18:46:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: *shakes his head*
(01/25 18:46:09) Dra: early: 2003
(01/25 18:46:10) Lynnutte: nick LOVED the ladies. lol
(01/25 18:46:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nick white was, yeah, Lynn,
(01/25 18:46:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: that.
(01/25 18:46:27) Lynnutte giggles
(01/25 18:46:27) Dra: he also liked talking nonsense
(01/25 18:46:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nick was what you'd call... a "Skirt Chaser"
(01/25 18:46:33) Dra: x_x
(01/25 18:46:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, well,
(01/25 18:46:42) Mireena: lol
(01/25 18:46:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: he was all sorts of trouble
(01/25 18:46:45) Lynnutte: Lol
(01/25 18:46:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: at the time,
(01/25 18:46:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: there was a group
(01/25 18:46:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: called the "Anti DRC Movement"
(01/25 18:47:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: the ADM wanted nothing more than to know what was going on,
(01/25 18:47:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, if I recall,
(01/25 18:47:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: were rather concerned about the predator,
(01/25 18:47:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: their leader was named Sydney, and, as you might guess, Nick was all over her. (/lame pun)
(01/25 18:47:5Cool Lynnutte rolls her eyes at the thought of Sydney
(01/25 18:48:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was, well, a huge mess (Bluh Bluh)
(01/25 18:48:16) Lynnutte: Understatement
(01/25 18:48:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sydney pryed Nick for all the info she could get out of him about the DRC
(01/25 18:48:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, for all his efforts,
(01/25 18:48:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nick got fired.
(01/25 18:48:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Once things got heated enough.
(01/25 18:49:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a truly horrible mess.
(01/25 18:49:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: That's all that can be said about it.
(01/25 18:49:22) Switters: than say no more
(01/25 18:49:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: So, yeah, While Nick was getting a pink slip,
(01/25 18:49:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: The fourth,
(01/25 18:49:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: And final,
(01/25 18:49:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Pod was released: Tetsonot.
(01/25 18:49:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: Oh Tetsonot.
(01/25 18:49:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: How we hated thee.
(01/25 18:49:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: And still do,
(01/25 18:49:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: How many of you have been there?
(01/25 18:50:03) Lynnutte: i hate minkatah more
(01/25 18:50:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: You know? Big, wet? Under water?
(01/25 18:50:07) GracelenRose: me
(01/25 18:50:10) Mireena raisees her hand
(01/25 18:50:10) Switters: black, without light....
(01/25 18:50:16) Lynnutte raises her hand
(01/25 18:50:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: that's Tetsonot in a nutshell
(01/25 18:50:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: yeah,
(01/25 18:50:37) knytt: ditto
(01/25 18:50:3Cool walt raises hand
(01/25 18:50:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: I think it's better off said that we wanted nothing to do with that place
(01/25 18:50:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: Obviously, we questioned the DRC's motives.
(01/25 18:50:56) Mireena: spooky
(01/25 18:50:56) Lynnutte: It was creepy
(01/25 18:51:03) Lynnutte: Lol
(01/25 18:51:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: what exactly happened to Tetsonot is still not known
(01/25 18:51:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: and the DRC wouldn't say.
(01/25 18:51:17) Dra: i still don't know why they released such a potentially dangerous Age
(01/25 18:51:1Cool Mireena: broken
(01/25 18:51:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: apparently
(01/25 18:51:24) Dra: DRC was all "safety first"..
(01/25 18:51:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: it was deemed "Safe"
(01/25 18:51:34) Dra says DOH!
(01/25 18:51:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: but,
(01/25 18:51:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: really,
(01/25 18:51:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: the ADM was all over THAT like a sack of potatoes....
(01/25 18:51:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: *bad metaphor*
(01/25 18:51:56) Dra: xD
(01/25 18:52:01) Mireena: Smile
(01/25 18:52:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: in any case,
(01/25 18:52:04) Switters laughs
(01/25 18:52:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: the final portal appeared,
(01/25 18:52:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: and we all were ready for our trials to end
(01/25 18:52:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: too bad, though, we never found out what the puzzles were teaching us,
(01/25 18:52:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: yeesha had left no speaches whatso ever
(01/25 18:52:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: we had no clue what she was up to,
(01/25 18:53:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: and the most we ever heard from her were those pre-recorded speaches.
(01/25 18:53:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: We knew the first was "Unity"
(01/25 18:53:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Seven cloths, a door, and eight explorers.
(01/25 18:53:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: But the second?
(01/25 18:53:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was time.
(01/25 18:53:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Patience.
(01/25 18:53:33) Dra: right
(01/25 18:53:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: We had to be patient for our rewards,
(01/25 18:53:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: our simple little ring wedges
(01/25 18:53:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: so, we waited
(01/25 18:53:57) Dra: funny, considering how many people wanted the DRC to be faster Smile
(01/25 18:53:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: We waited,
(01/25 18:54:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: we waited and waited
(01/25 18:54:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: but, some of us weren't inclined to wait
(01/25 18:54:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: you see,
(01/25 18:54:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: some explorers banded together,
(01/25 18:54:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: in sil_oh_wet's bevin,
(01/25 18:54:29) Mireena: I was there
(01/25 18:54:31) Lynnutte: lol yeah we were
(01/25 18:54:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: they formed a Hand Symbol, the Preafter Journey,
(01/25 18:54:36) Lynnutte: me too
(01/25 18:54:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: on the fountain/plaza floor.
(01/25 18:54:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, after hours of waiting,
(01/25 18:54:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: something happened
(01/25 18:54:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: it wasn't much,
(01/25 18:55:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: but it was something.
(01/25 18:55:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: a glowing flicker of light,
(01/25 18:55:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: and then the form of Yeesha appeared on the fountain,
(01/25 18:55:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: it was a hologram,
(01/25 18:55:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: but it was a sure sign to us,
(01/25 18:55:25) Francus N. Stein: exuse me I could not hear you
(01/25 18:55:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: She was waiting, she was watching,
(01/25 18:55:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: and so, we waited more,
(01/25 18:55:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: and finially,
(01/25 18:56:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: a crack in the illusion of the "Normality" that had fallen upon us,
(01/25 18:56:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: a crack that signified so much,
(01/25 18:56:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: and so many things. Horrible, horrible things.
(01/25 18:56:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: we waited at this crack when it occured,
(01/25 18:56:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: and we waited, united as one group.
(01/25 18:57:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: for... for the Scars that still remain on some of us.
(01/25 18:57:26) Lynnutte nods
(01/25 18:57:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: This is our heritage, You know?
(01/25 18:57:44) Dra nods his head
(01/25 18:57:46) Switters rubs his scars
(01/25 18:57:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: so many important events lead us here,
(01/25 18:57:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, here we are,
(01/25 18:58:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: I mention a scar that occured,
(01/25 18:58:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: and it reminds me of something more, something recent.
(01/25 18:58:30) Jayim Duinara: I'm sorry that I came in so late to events in the cavern. I would have liked to have seen and experienced all that stuff myself.
(01/25 18:58:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: we do not know what those bahro were thinking last Tuesday when they reappeared
(01/25 18:58:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: I mean, they made the sky change colors.
(01/25 18:58:50) Lynnutte: I hope it's a good sign
(01/25 18:58:52) Dra: fog, not sky
(01/25 18:58:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: It makes me think of someone else,
(01/25 18:58:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: actually,
(01/25 18:59:01) Jayim Duinara: You mean the ones flying around the arch?
(01/25 18:59:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: someone a bit... crazy...
(01/25 18:59:03) Lynnutte: Who?
(01/25 18:59:07) Lynnutte: phil?
(01/25 18:59:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: but, that's a story for another time, I'm affraid.
(01/25 18:59:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yes, Lynn,
(01/25 18:59:14) Dra: they also messed with the Arch and the Age a bit
(01/25 18:59:19) Lynnutte: Ah ok
(01/25 18:59:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: but, while these bahro in Ae'gura,
(01/25 18:59:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: while they seem friendly,
(01/25 18:59:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: while they have only commited... parlor tricks, essentially
(01/25 18:59:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: we do not know what they have planned.
(01/25 18:59:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: or what they're about to do.
(01/25 19:00:03) Lynnutte: We never do
(01/25 19:00:04) Dra: you can't tell bad bahro from good ones
(01/25 19:00:10) Dra: so be careful
(01/25 19:00:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: "it's not like the have red eyes."
(01/25 19:00:1Cool Lynnutte: Very careful
(01/25 19:00:27) Francus N. Stein: you cant tell a bad person from a good one
(01/25 19:00:34) Mireena: I will have faith that they are 'good' until they act otherwise
(01/25 19:00:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: so, I'll close this evening with a message
(01/25 19:00:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Normal" is not what is normally assumed when the word is said
(01/25 19:00:55) Lynnutte: Me too Mirrena, but proceed with caution. lol
(01/25 19:00:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Usual, Standard, unifed, unchanging"
(01/25 19:01:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: this is easily reminded by those bahro,
(01/25 19:01:17) Lynnutte: Cautioos optimism. lol
(01/25 19:01:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: they added yet another crack in our illusion of "Safety"
(01/25 19:01:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: a deception that they themselves put in place.
(01/25 19:01:37) Dra: an illusion which was kept for us,
(01/25 19:01:40) Dra: for a long time
(01/25 19:01:44) Dra: by certain people
(01/25 19:01:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: yes, Dra,
(01/25 19:01:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: so, I will simply end with this,
(01/25 19:02:00) Dra: but that is for a long time from now, isn't it? Smile
(01/25 19:02:02) Switters: sometimes, normal is the opposite of "normal", in all cases....
(01/25 19:02:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: yes, Switters,
(01/25 19:02:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: exactly.
(01/25 19:02:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: that is the nature of D'ni
(01/25 19:02:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: in all my time here,
(01/25 19:02:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: I've never had a day exactly the same as the last,
(01/25 19:02:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: each day when things were happening here was fresh, new, exciting,(01/25 19:03:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: you will always find that, somewhere, there is a bit of change, always different.
(01/25 19:03:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: and that is what they reminded us of all those years ago,
(01/25 19:03:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: and what they re-remind us of today
(01/25 19:03:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: shorah everyone, and have a good night
(01/25 19:03:42) DimensionTravelerCalum bows

(01/25 19:07:20) ...Chat.log stopped.

Tonight's HN.

Scars in the Cavern

(02/01 18:03:15) Chat.log started...
(02/01 18:03:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: so, with out further adue,
(02/01 18:03:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: the week of Scars.
(02/01 18:03:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: This was a week of tradgedy,
(02/01 18:04:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was a week where we were all tested, to a degree,
(02/01 18:04:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: It started out innocent enough,
(02/01 18:04:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Douglas Sharper announced that he was going on a trip to Negilahn, to hunt the predator that was killing the animals.
(02/01 18:04:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: We were concerned, yes,
(02/01 18:04:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: but Sharper was a trained hunter,
(02/01 18:05:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: he could handle himself,
(02/01 18:05:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was just shortly after that that the first reports of siesmic activity came in from Ae'gura,
(02/01 18:06:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: It wasn't much of a surprise, really,
(02/01 18:06:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: considering all the damage done in the great scream months earliar,
(02/01 18:06:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: so, we and the DRC meerly ignored it,
(02/01 18:06:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: atleast,
(02/01 18:06:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: until a physical crack manifsted itself,
(02/01 18:07:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: in the Kahlo Pub, in a far corner,
(02/01 18:07:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: there was now a small crack,
(02/01 18:07:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: that night, we all went to bed expecting nothing out of the ordinary,
(02/01 18:07:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: how wrong we were.
(02/01 18:07:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: the next day, Sharper had left for Negilahn with Nick White,
(02/01 18:08:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: and Willow and her friend Rosette Taylor were down in the cavern,
(02/01 18:08:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: running Marker Missions,
(02/01 18:08:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: blasted things.
(02/01 18:09:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC had closed off the Kahlo Pub for the time being, and warnned explorers to stay away,
(02/01 18:09:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: we explorers were warnning Wheely and Rosette to do the same,
(02/01 18:09:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Wheely just laughed,
(02/01 18:09:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: "My father's being overcautious" Or something like that.
(02/01 18:09:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, when the time came for them to go to the city,
(02/01 18:09:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: they seemed to heed our advice,
(02/01 18:10:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: and ignored the Pub's markers for the time being.
(02/01 18:10:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well,
(02/01 18:10:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: I can imagine you all realize that Wheely was an explorer at heard,
(02/01 18:10:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: heart*
(02/01 18:10:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: and wasn't going to let some silly little crack get in her way,
(02/01 18:11:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: no, she was bound and determined to explore it.
(02/01 18:11:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: after all, wouldn't you if you had the chance?
(02/01 18:11:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: to be the first to see something brand new and exciting?
(02/01 18:11:27) Chrisman: definitely
(02/01 18:11:34) DaVinci: yep
(02/01 18:11:35) Termostat: amen
(02/01 18:11:36) Cactus Wren nods
(02/01 18:11:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well, Wheely used that same logic,
(02/01 18:11:55) Cactus Wren: How old was she?
(02/01 18:11:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: and tricked those of us trying to keep them away from the Kahlo Pub into heading towards the library,
(02/01 18:12:00) From frances: where is this kahlo pub located?
(02/01 18:12:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: erm, pardon me for a moment while I answer this PM I just got,
(02/01 18:12:27) frances: kahlo pub?
(02/01 18:12:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: the Kahlo Pub is in the city, on the side of the stairs,
(02/01 18:12:49) Carl Palmner: Cactus--Wheely was 14.
(02/01 18:12:59) Cactus Wren: Oh.
(02/01 18:13:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yeah, just a kid.
(02/01 18:13:03) Carl Palmner goes back to quietly observing
(02/01 18:13:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: In any case,
(02/01 18:13:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: I was casually listening to neighbors chat when, all of a sudden,
(02/01 18:13:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Someone cried out
(02/01 18:13:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Hey, Wheely just discovered a crack at the Library!"
(02/01 18:13:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Or something similar.
(02/01 18:14:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: you'll forgive me for not remembering exactly, my mind's a bit foggy about the exact phrasing,
(02/01 18:14:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, the moment I'd heard that,
(02/01 18:14:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: i knew what Wheely had done,
(02/01 18:14:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: I doubt that even I had managed to make it to the Kahlo Pub,
(02/01 18:14:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: within a reasonable amount of time,
(02/01 18:15:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things still would've remained unchanged.
(02/01 18:15:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wheely had used her DRC altered KI to 'ghost' her signal to appear by the Library,
(02/01 18:15:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: While she and Rosette were really in the Kahlo Pub,
(02/01 18:15:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: They went into the crack,
(02/01 18:16:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then their KI signals vanished.
(02/01 18:16:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: the DRC were call- pardon me for a moment,
(02/01 18:16:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yes, right,
(02/01 18:16:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC were called in,
(02/01 18:17:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: To investigate the crack in the Library,
(02/01 18:17:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: But they couldn't find any,
(02/01 18:17:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, with the rumors quickly running that the two girls were now missing..?
(02/01 18:17:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: They began to pannic.
(02/01 18:17:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: at first,
(02/01 18:18:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: Engberg thought that Wheely and Rosette were just playing around
(02/01 18:18:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Teenage antics,
(02/01 18:18:12) DimensionTravelerCalum shakes his head
(02/01 18:18:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: The city was soon locked out of the nexus,
(02/01 18:18:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: And a KI mail sent out
(02/01 18:18:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Declaring Willow Engberg and Rosette Taylor to be missing.
(02/01 18:19:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things,, I guess, only went down hill from here,
(02/01 18:19:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explorers were annoyed that they had been locked out,
(02/01 18:19:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: But they were persistant,
(02/01 18:19:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: They would soon find ways to circumvent the city lock out,
(02/01 18:19:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: And make their ways into the city,
(02/01 18:19:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: As the DRC and Restoration Engineers searched the city for the two girls.
(02/01 18:20:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: nick White returned from Negilahn early,
(02/01 18:20:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: At the KI mail reporting the girl's dissapearance
(02/01 18:20:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: He pleaded with explorers to leave the DRC alone,
(02/01 18:20:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Especially Engberg,
(02/01 18:21:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Who undoubtably was having flashbacks to his wife's death in a climbing accident, years earliar.
(02/01 18:21:24) Cactus Wren: Dear Lord.
(02/01 18:21:39) DaVinci: omg
(02/01 18:21:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: he also told us that Sharper was still in Negilahn,
(02/01 18:21:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Still hunting the predator,
(02/01 18:21:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Still watching,
(02/01 18:21:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: Still waiting,
(02/01 18:22:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: nick, despite also being fired the week before,
(02/01 18:22:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: Still had some good points with the DRC,
(02/01 18:22:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: He was allowed into the city at one point, If I recall, to help talk out the explorers there,
(02/01 18:22:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Um, Carl? Am I remmembering that right?
(02/01 18:23:02) Carl Palmner: Sounds right to me
(02/01 18:23:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: okay, we'll go with that,
(02/01 18:23:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: He managed to talk the Explorers in the city to leave,
(02/01 18:23:25) Carl Palmner: I believe he still had his DRC KI and everything, allowing him to go even where most normal explorers were prohibited.
(02/01 18:23:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: *nods* ok
(02/01 18:23:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Thanks,
(02/01 18:23:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, the DRC realzied that it would be impossible to keep the explorers out,
(02/01 18:24:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: So, they reopened the city,
(02/01 18:24:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Albeit at a lower population density than before,
(02/01 18:24:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: The very next day,
(02/01 18:24:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: When there was actuall news
(02/01 18:24:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: A KI Signal had been detected,
(02/01 18:24:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Behind the crack in the pub,
(02/01 18:24:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Now steadily worse than before,
(02/01 18:25:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: laxman had turned the KI on remotely,
(02/01 18:25:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, lo and behold, Wheely was fine,
(02/01 18:25:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Dazed, tired, and weak,
(02/01 18:25:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: But alive,
(02/01 18:25:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: And trapped.
(02/01 18:25:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: she was in a bahro cave.
(02/01 18:25:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: And you all know how those caves mess with our Relto books.
(02/01 18:26:1Cool Chrisman: was willow with her?
(02/01 18:26:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Willow = Wheely,
(02/01 18:26:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wheely is her nickname,
(02/01 18:26:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: but if you mean Rosette?
(02/01 18:26:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well,
(02/01 18:27:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: We wouldn't find out the string of events until wheely was conscious again,
(02/01 18:27:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: But Rosette had touched a Bahro glyph on the wall,
(02/01 18:27:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: There was a bahro scream,
{BAHRO SCREAM}
(02/01 18:27:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, reports varry,
(02/01 18:27:43) Carl Palmner: Whoa that was eerie
(02/01 18:27:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Either there was a bahro in the cave that touched their books,
(02/01 18:27:54) Carl Palmner: He said "Bahro scream", and then a Bahro screamed.
(02/01 18:27:5Cool Carl Palmner shuts up again.
(02/01 18:28:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: or there wasn't one in there until the glyph was pressed
(02/01 18:28:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: In any case,
(02/01 18:28:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: The wall Rosette had touched collapsed,
(02/01 18:28:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sealing the crack,
(02/01 18:28:44) DaVinci: yes the glyph ws pressed first
(02/01 18:28:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: And knocking Wheely unconscious,
(02/01 18:28:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: rosette...
(02/01 18:28:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Was crushed by the rubble.
(02/01 18:29:13) DimensionTravelerCalum takes a few moments,
{ANOTHER BAHRO SCREAM}
(02/01 18:29:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum smiles weakly at the bahro scream just now

(02/01 18:29:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: coincidentally enough,
(02/01 18:30:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: From the moment the crack had appeared in the Kahlo Pub,
(02/01 18:30:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: bahro activity had been increasing in the City,
(02/01 18:30:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: You could hear their screams increasing in number,
(02/01 18:30:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, at some points,
(02/01 18:30:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: You could even see them on the rooftops,
(02/01 18:30:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: One, most noteably, on the Library rooftop
(02/01 18:31:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: Of course, their CURRENT level of activity is way much enhanced than what was there then,
(02/01 18:31:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: We would only catch glimpses of them from time to time,
(02/01 18:31:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: But for many of us, they were rather close,
(02/01 18:31:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: in any case,
(02/01 18:32:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC had began excavating from the top floor of the Kahlo Building,
(02/01 18:32:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: it would be a long,
(02/01 18:32:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Hard, and tiring dig,
(02/01 18:32:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: But they would reach her,
(02/01 18:32:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: on the first floor,
(02/01 18:32:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: From the very top,
(02/01 18:33:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: It wouldn't be fast enough, though,
(02/01 18:33:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: Just, not fast enough.
(02/01 18:33:3Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: They dug for a whole day,
(02/01 18:33:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: All the while, periodically recieving messages from wheely,
(02/01 18:34:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Strange things happened over the course of that seemingly infinite span of time,
(02/01 18:34:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: One of which, was that Wheely's KI suddenly reported her location as being in several different ages,
(02/01 18:34:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Despite the coordinates and actually signal broadcast location being the same,
(02/01 18:34:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: ae'gura, behind that crack,
(02/01 18:34:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Before finally going offline.
(02/01 18:35:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: When her KI came on next, she had just woken up
(02/01 18:35:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: And seemingly refresshed,
(02/01 18:35:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: she was no longer tired,
(02/01 18:35:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: And any thirst she had before hand was gone,
(02/01 18:36:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: She was healed, apparently.
(02/01 18:36:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: How or why or for what reason?
(02/01 18:36:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: We do not know,
(02/01 18:36:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Perhaps it was due to her drawing the rain glyph on the floor?
(02/01 18:36:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Oh,
(02/01 18:36:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Stupid me
(02/01 18:36:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: I just realized I forgot one of the most important details,
(02/01 18:37:07) DimensionTravelerCalum smacks his fist into his head, muttering dumb dumb stupid dumb
(02/01 18:37:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: There was a Bahro in the cave with her,
(02/01 18:37:19) Carl Palmner: You're fine Smile
(02/01 18:37:23) Cactus Wren: This is hardly easy for you, Calum
(02/01 18:37:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: right, well, moving on, I suppose,
(02/01 18:38:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wheely had noted almost early on that there was a pair of blue eyes in the cave with her,
(02/01 18:38:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a bahro,
(02/01 18:38:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, as the excavation neared it's end destination,
(02/01 18:38:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: It grew aggitated,
(02/01 18:38:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: Although,
(02/01 18:38:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: At the time,
(02/01 18:39:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: We suspected only one bahro in the cave,
(02/01 18:39:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: It's quite likely that there were two,
(02/01 18:39:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Bahro seemingly had two sides,
(02/01 18:39:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: A helpful side, and a "scare" side,
(02/01 18:39:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: Which, really,
(02/01 18:39:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: Could only be explained by two bahro being there,
(02/01 18:39:59) DaVinci: oh yea there was 2
(02/01 18:40:12) Carl Palmner jumps in quickly...
(02/01 18:40:1Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: yes Carl?
(02/01 18:40:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Go ahead
(02/01 18:40:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: *searches quickly for something to drink*
{/me retrieves some ginger ale from his Sylladex}
(02/01 18:40:4Cool Carl Palmner: That's the theory I ascribe to as well, but just to clarify--we don't know for a fact that there were two. In fact a very important former DRC member believed there was only one, but I won't ruin that surprise.
(02/01 18:40:55) DaVinci throws Calum a can of soda pop
(02/01 18:41:07) Carl Palmner: I believe there were 2 as well, though--just pointing out we can't be absolutely certain Smile
(02/01 18:41:16) Carl Palmner: Sorry, I'll shut up now Smile
(02/01 18:41:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: No, thanks carl,
(02/01 18:41:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: *got the time to calm his throat down a bit*
(02/01 18:41:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: Okay, moving on,
(02/01 18:41:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: Simultaneously to all of this,
(02/01 18:41:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: nick recieved a KI mail from Sharper,
(02/01 18:41:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: The "bait" for the predator,
(02/01 18:42:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: An Urwin nicnamed Peggy Sue,
(02/01 18:42:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: That Sharper had been watching,
(02/01 18:42:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Had been slain,
(02/01 18:42:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: It's head ripped clean off,
(02/01 18:42:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: And dragged into the jungle,
(02/01 18:42:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: The same wounds,
(02/01 18:42:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: But a different M.O.
(02/01 18:42:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: before,
(02/01 18:43:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Predator had left the bodies intact, albeit maimed,
(02/01 18:43:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: Never before had a part been dragged off.
(02/01 18:43:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: In any case, Sharper was following the Beast, and had turned off his KI.
(02/01 18:43:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: while our thoughts did turn towards him, we were whole-heartedly focused on Wheely's rescue.
(02/01 18:44:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a... It was a long day,
(02/01 18:44:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: All of those in the city were relaying current events to their buddies and neighbors,
(02/01 18:44:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: That's exactly how I heard what happened at the end,
(02/01 18:44:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: through a relay,
(02/01 18:45:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was... 7:00 P.m., on... um...
(02/01 18:45:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: May 23rd, I think,
{/me pauses briefly}
(02/01 18:45:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Right,
(02/01 18:45:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: sorry, just taking a moment to compose myself.
(02/01 18:46:01) Carl Palmner nods his head
{/me collects himself again}
(02/01 18:46:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Okay,
(02/01 18:46:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Right,
(02/01 18:46:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: The excavation crew was nearly through,
(02/01 18:46:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: They had made a small hole,
(02/01 18:46:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: And tried to lower a linking book to Wheely,
(02/01 18:47:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: No dice,
(02/01 18:47:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: The book was blacked out inside the cave.
(02/01 18:47:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: as they hurried to make the hole bigger,
(02/01 18:47:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: The bahro inside the cave began chanting
(02/01 18:47:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: "no... no something" wheely reported at first
(02/01 18:48:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Quickly, the explorers outside the Kahlo Pub all deduced what it was
(02/01 18:48:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Noloben!"
(02/01 18:48:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: indeed,
(02/01 18:48:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: the Bahro was chanting the name of their supposed 'home world'
(02/01 18:48:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: and it was growing mad with each passing second,
(02/01 18:48:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: The hole was finally big enough, and they hooked up a ResEng to go down,
(02/01 18:49:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: (wasn't he #223, Carl?)
(02/01 18:49:14) Carl Palmner: Don't remember
(02/01 18:49:16) Carl Palmner shrugs
(02/01 18:49:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: in any case,
(02/01 18:49:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: they started lowering him down,
(02/01 18:49:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: and..and then the bahro lunged with a mighty scream
(02/01 18:49:59) Carl Palmner bows his head.
(02/01 18:50:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: ResEng223 cried out allmost immediately, "Get me out of here"
(02/01 18:50:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: Engberg was distraught
(02/01 18:50:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: "What? Where is she?"
(02/01 18:50:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: "She's gone." was the solemn reply.
(02/01 18:50:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: We, we never saw the body,
(02/01 18:50:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: nor would we want to,
(02/01 18:50:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was shredded,
(02/01 18:50:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: mangled, just like the poor creatures in the Pods,
(02/01 18:51:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: we knew right away that the Predator was a Bahro.
(02/01 18:51:12) Cactus Wren whispers
(02/01 18:51:16) Chrisman: poor Wheely to have to see that
(02/01 18:51:17) Cactus Wren: Oh dear Lord in heaven.
(02/01 18:51:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Cate Alexander ordered the DRC KI's set to a private channel,
(02/01 18:51:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: and explorers everywhere gasped in shock,
(02/01 18:51:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: it all happened within the span of a few seconds,
(02/01 18:51:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: a minute tops,
(02/01 18:51:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: and it was all over,
(02/01 18:51:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: two lives lost,
(02/01 18:52:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, the week was not done,
(02/01 18:52:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: the next day,
(02/01 18:52:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: as everyone mourned the loss,
(02/01 18:52:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper stumbled back into the lake light,
(02/01 18:52:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: He had news,
(02/01 18:52:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: the Predator was a bahro, allright,
(02/01 18:52:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: he had seen the beast dragging the head behind it like a fallen log
(02/01 18:53:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: but, it suddenly vanished,
(02/01 18:53:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: leaving the head in the middle of a clearing,
(02/01 18:53:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: sharper waited with baited breath,
(02/01 18:53:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: before he finally looked up
(02/01 18:53:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: bahro,
(02/01 18:53:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: everywhere,
(02/01 18:53:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: in the trees,
(02/01 18:53:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: all of them watching him.
(02/01 18:53:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a trap.
(02/01 18:53:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: SHarper had little time to react,
(02/01 18:54:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: for, the bahro began their assault,
(02/01 18:54:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: several diving towards him.
(02/01 18:54:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: when, suddenly,
(02/01 18:54:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: another group of bahro appeared,
(02/01 18:54:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: fighting off this other group.
(02/01 18:54:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was war,
(02/01 18:54:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: the Bahro were at war.
(02/01 18:54:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: fighting amongst themselves,
(02/01 18:54:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: Even Sharper didn't know how he survived it,
(02/01 18:55:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: he had reached for his relto book when one "dark" Bahro came towards him,
(02/01 18:55:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: two "Light" ones had jumped ontop of him,'
(02/01 18:55:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: and then the next thing he knew,
(02/01 18:55:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: he was on relto,
(02/01 18:55:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: We were stunned,
(02/01 18:55:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: so the bahro that killed Wheely was a bad one?
(02/01 18:56:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: why had it wanted to do that?
(02/01 18:56:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: we ran wild with theoreys,
(02/01 18:56:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, in the end, some would turn out true, most false,
(02/01 18:56:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: but, those are other stories,
(02/01 18:56:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: you see, for the rest of the day,
(02/01 18:57:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: the Kahlo Pub was deemed "Sturdy" once more,
(02/01 18:57:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: and Engberg was now mourning infront of the crack,
(02/01 18:57:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: surrounding it with flowers and wreaths,
(02/01 18:57:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: we gave him his space,
(02/01 18:57:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: the poor guy,
(02/01 18:57:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: still, though,
(02/01 18:58:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: the day only seemed to end with the Structural Engineer for the DRC running off to Descent,
(02/01 18:58:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: muttering only one name
(02/01 18:58:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Doctor Watson"
(02/01 18:58:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: he was declaired missing that night.
(02/01 18:58:5Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: and so, as if to give the week a "proper" finish,
(02/01 18:59:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Cate Alexander simply dropped off the Minkata Book in the LIbrary the following day,
(02/01 18:59:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: "Minkata means Heavily Scarred,
(02/01 18:59:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: it's been said,
(02/01 18:59:4Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: Quite appropriate.
(02/01 18:59:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: so,
(02/01 19:00:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: we ended this fretful week by hanging out in the desert,
(02/01 19:00:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: alone, and together,
(02/01 19:00:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: we would find our path in the stars,
(02/01 19:00:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: and we would shift through the next "ring challenge"
(02/01 19:00:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: easily enough.
(02/01 19:01:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Ugh, I think I screwed up that ending there,
(02/01 19:01:0Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: oh well,
(02/01 19:01:11) Chrisman claps his hands
(02/01 19:01:13) MystMan1102: sounded good to me
(02/01 19:01:17) Carl Palmner claps his hands
(02/01 19:01:17) MystMan1102 claps his hands
(02/01 19:01:17) Alphonse Godot claps his hands
(02/01 19:01:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: this was Scars,
(02/01 19:01:23) DimensionTravelerCalum bows
(02/01 19:01:23) DaVinci claps his hands
(02/01 19:01:24) MystMan1102 cheers
(02/01 19:01:2Cool DimensionTravelerCalum: and I hope you enjoyed it,

We had a new host tonight, GracelenRose, and right now I'd just like to say that even with it being her first time hosting and dealing with excessive amounts of Lag, she did an amazing job! I dare say that was one of the best HN's ever! XD

(02/08 16:06:2Cool Chat.log started...

(02/08 16:07:09) GracelenRose: I am having a bit of lag to night so please bare with me

(02/08 16:07:34) GracelenRose: ok....Welcome to Heritage Night everyone
(02/08 16:08:00) GracelenRose: Our discussions begins with the events of the last week of June 2007
(02/08 16:08:17) GracelenRose: "New Light in the Cavern"
(02/08 16:08:24) GracelenRose: 23nd of June 2007
(02/08 16:08:41) GracelenRose: First...there were 2 KI mails that day regarding the Great Zero...
(02/08 16:09:09) GracelenRose: the first being the ability for explorers to create their own "Quest type games"
(02/08 16:09:25) GracelenRose: upon completion of their calibration marker missions
(02/08 16:09:40) GracelenRose: and the KI guid in the classroom was also updated.
(02/08 16:10:17) GracelenRose: the second being the activation ceremony of the Great Zero which took place at 4pm Cavern time the following day
(02/08 16:10:34) GracelenRose: Watcher's Santuary Released by DRC
(02/08 16:10:51) GracelenRose: That night the DRC released the Great Tree Pub,
(02/08 16:11:27) GracelenRose: aka the The Watcher's Santuary, (the Watcher's Pub)
(02/08 16:11:50) GracelenRose: located in the J'Taeri District where once the Dni high society dwelled.
(02/08 16:12:07) GracelenRose: Explorers who once walked the Path of the Shell...
(02/08 16:12:5Cool GracelenRose: once again browsed through the five DRC-translated volumes known as the "Words"
(02/08 16:13:13) GracelenRose: of the Watcher on the second floor, and Michael Simpson's
(02/08 16:13:24) GracelenRose: DRC journal on the first floor,
(02/08 16:13:3Cool GracelenRose: describing the place's significance.
(02/08 16:14:02) GracelenRose: the Pub also served as a gathering place where Dni met to discuss philosophical matters.
(02/08 16:14:21) GracelenRose: The Watcher was born in 4554 DE (c 3343 BC)
(02/08 16:14:51) GracelenRose: and died in 4606 DE (c 3051).
(02/08 16:15:05) GracelenRose: His mother gave birth to him mid-link
(02/08 16:15:16) GracelenRose: while excavating the Mining Age of Trases.
(02/08 16:15:2Cool GracelenRose: He was said to see things outside of time
(02/08 16:15:3Cool GracelenRose: whether past, present or future
(02/08 16:15:56) GracelenRose: His main work "Word" is a compilation of sayings
(02/08 16:16:09) GracelenRose: he received from the Maker on the future of Dni
(02/08 16:16:25) GracelenRose: a coming day of destruction
(02/08 16:16:36) GracelenRose: and of a Grower who would restore things.
(02/08 16:16:50) GracelenRose: please read the journals upstairs for more insight
(NOTE: Upstairs in the Watcher's pub, that is. )
(02/08 16:17:05) GracelenRose: Followers built the sactuary on the spot
(02/08 16:17:16) GracelenRose: where he received his visions
(02/08 16:17:31) GracelenRose: and many still gather to discuss philosophy
(02/08 16:17:40) GracelenRose: With this release came our biggest reward....
(02/08 16:17:4Cool GracelenRose: the Age of Er'cana.
(02/08 16:18:0Cool GracelenRose: Cate Alexander told us that Er'cana would be released on Tuesday or Wednesday of that week
(02/08 16:18:2Cool GracelenRose: and that the DRC was working on Ahnonay and an all-new Age called Jalak
(02/08 16:19:06) GracelenRose: (which she described as a D'ni gaming area)
(02/08 16:19:22) GracelenRose: She then contininued to answer the many questions regarding Noloben and Michael Engberg,
(02/08 16:19:56) GracelenRose: who she believed was no longer in the Cavern,
(02/08 16:20:0Cool GracelenRose: nor would she verify the existence of the Bahro civil war.
(02/08 16:20:30) GracelenRose: Yet she confirmed that the Bahro were responsible for Wheely's death
(02/08 16:20:54) GracelenRose: Cate also thanked everyone for their support even during these critical funding times.
(02/08 16:21:16) GracelenRose: 24th of June 2007
(02/08 16:21:32) GracelenRose: Victor Laxman stated that the KI light
(02/08 16:21:44) GracelenRose: was working much better than before.
(02/08 16:22:04) GracelenRose: (explorers later confirmed that the KI light lasted up to one minute, and the KI machine in Descent no longer emitted sparks, and appeared fixed).
(02/08 16:23:14) GracelenRose: Earlier that evening..
(02/08 16:23:32) GracelenRose: he patiently answered many questions about Wheely.
(02/08 16:23:40) GracelenRose: On the Bahro...he stated that they have the ability to "link at will" and were the ones responsible for creating different instances of Ages.
(02/08 16:24:30) GracelenRose: He described Er'cana as "an Age for food"
(02/08 16:24:42) GracelenRose: and the next Age to be released.
(02/08 16:24:56) GracelenRose: He also described the Relto "donuts" as of Bahro origin and not Dni origin
(02/08 16:25:40) GracelenRose: That day's big event was the Great Zero Activation.
(02/08 16:26:04) GracelenRose: heeding Laxman's invitation, explorers gathered in different instances of the Great Zero shortly before 4pm on that day
(02/08 16:26:53) GracelenRose: to witness first-hand the activation of the first great structure of Dni, built nearly 10000 years ago
(02/08 16:27:31) GracelenRose: This ancient device enabled the Dni to situate and develop
(02/08 16:27:43) GracelenRose: the important buildings of the City, along with its districts and neighborhoods, and establish Dni culture.
(02/08 16:28:25) GracelenRose: About 4pm the Great Zero was activated once again,
(02/08 16:28:35) GracelenRose: its machinary roared to life,
(02/08 16:28:57) GracelenRose: and its famous "blue line" no longer remained stationary at the Great Stairs and stared to sweep the Cavern
(02/08 16:29:34) GracelenRose: Explorers afterwards received a KI mail message
(02/08 16:29:47) GracelenRose: that confirmed the calibration effort was completed, due to their efforts
(02/08 16:30:03) GracelenRose: 25th of June 2007
(02/08 16:31:1Cool GracelenRose: Douglas Sharper was off again
(02/08 16:31:26) GracelenRose: this time on a self-described "adventure of revenge".
(02/08 16:31:55) GracelenRose: He announced in the Uru Obsession Bevin
(02/08 16:32:05) GracelenRose: late that afternoon that the DRC had granted him access to the beach Age of Noloben
(02/08 16:32:26) GracelenRose: to find and kill the one Bahro that killed Wheely Engberg in last month
(02/08 16:33:0Cool GracelenRose: "I hope he's there", he stated
(02/08 16:33:24) GracelenRose: before explaining that he is going prepared
(02/08 16:33:36) GracelenRose: learning to communicate with them
(02/08 16:33:57) GracelenRose: and to ready to handle the speed at which they move.
(02/08 16:35:49) GracelenRose: Sharper said "I'll learn, I'll watch. I wont kill one of the good ones"
(02/08 16:36:0Cool GracelenRose: "I will try to find those who seem to care about us.
(02/08 16:36:24) GracelenRose: "They are fast. But they are mortal" he added.
(02/08 16:36:32) GracelenRose: The explorers reaction?
(02/08 16:36:46) GracelenRose: "I'm dissappointed" responded Sharper
(02/08 16:37:03) GracelenRose: as many cited their own fears of Bahro retaliation upon humans because of his actions
(02/08 16:37:32) GracelenRose: but Sharper stated that doing nothing only demonstrates weakness.
(02/08 16:37:52) GracelenRose: He urged them to remember Wheely and Rose, and how they could have been saved,
(02/08 16:38:22) GracelenRose: as well as the decimated animal population in Negilahn
(02/08 16:38:33) GracelenRose: Sharper remained undaunted:
(02/08 16:38:50) GracelenRose: "I will come back with a body. If I come back at all".
(02/08 16:39:39) GracelenRose: As a side note....
(02/08 16:39:54) GracelenRose: Cate Alexander was now taking position
(02/08 16:40:15) GracelenRose: on the DRC yet her priorities will always be the funding
(02/08 16:40:35) GracelenRose: of the Restoration and the possibility for branding and advertising in the Cavern
(02/08 16:40:59) GracelenRose: which was opposed by some including Dr. Marie Sutherland.

{MUCH LINKING TO THE WATCHER'S PUB LATER}

(02/08 16:47:24) GracelenRose: ok..ready everyone?
(02/08 16:47:29) GracelenRose: ok
(02/08 16:47:3Cool GracelenRose: 26th of June 2007
(02/08 16:48:04) GracelenRose: That day's big event was the release of Ercana
(02/08 16:48:30) GracelenRose: Around 11am Cavern time, Cate Alexander linked into the Watcher's Sactuary
(02/08 16:48:47) GracelenRose: with the Er'cana linking book: and put it on the pedestal
(02/08 16:49:06) GracelenRose: "Enjoy Er'cana" was all she said
(02/08 16:49:22) GracelenRose: Er'cana is a harvest Age which supplied food
(02/08 16:49:29) GracelenRose: for the people of Dni
(02/08 16:49:46) GracelenRose: and was most likely owned by the Guild of Caterers
(02/08 16:50:01) GracelenRose: And in a July 6, 2006 town hall meeting,
(02/08 16:50:13) GracelenRose: Dr. Kodama remarked that the Age may also be useful in supplying nutrients to the lake algae, to restore a regular day and night cycle
(NOTE: to his credit, Er'cana's all over have done just that)
(02/08 16:51:22) GracelenRose: Explorers also noticed that the Silo in the Industrial District of Uran was also released
(02/08 16:52:35) GracelenRose: another sign that the Silo is somehow related to pellet production
(02/08 16:52:54) GracelenRose: Uran was the main industrial complex in Dni located far away from the City
(02/08 16:53:16) GracelenRose: Uran contained many Silos that were used to store grain from the harvest Ages, one of which was Ercana
(02/08 16:53:5Cool GracelenRose: One Silo stored pellets and dropped them into the lake to feed the algae
(02/08 16:54:2Cool GracelenRose: when then glowed at regular intervals yielding a day and night cycle in the Cavern
(02/08 16:55:01) GracelenRose: In 5541 DE, Uran was renamed Ashemem after Ashem, the son of King Me-emen and a member of the Guild of Healers.
(02/08 16:55:34) GracelenRose: who died froma disease while investigating a new Age
(02/08 16:55:49) GracelenRose: It is also believed though not confirmed that ex-Guild Master Kadish also used Ercana and Ashemem
(02/08 16:56:32) GracelenRose: to justify himself as the Grower, one who could restore life to algae and bring "A New Light" to the Cavern
(02/08 16:56:54) GracelenRose: Also on that day at around 11:20am
(02/08 16:57:19) GracelenRose: explorers found Dr. Marie Sutherland sitting quietly by the flowers at the Kahlo Pub
(02/08 16:57:41) GracelenRose: Then at 1:45pm Cavern time
(02/08 16:57:56) GracelenRose: she unveiled a new explorer memorial devoted not just to Wheely Engberg who lost her life to a Bahro attack but also to other explorers who recently lost their lives
(02/08 16:58:52) GracelenRose: Their names were also included on the memorial
(02/08 16:59:13) GracelenRose: "Nothing I can say will do justice to their memories...
(02/08 16:59:25) GracelenRose: so I wont even try..but his will be a small token".
(02/08 16:59:46) GracelenRose: The DRC also issued a KI mail requesting submissions of the names of other explorers who passed away along with a description of how each contributed to the restoration
(02/08 17:00:40) GracelenRose: You can see the memorial now in the City in the Kahlo Pub.
(02/08 17:00:56) GracelenRose: 27th of June 2007
(02/08 17:01:27) GracelenRose: Sharper Departs for Noloben, Protesters Press DRC
(02/08 17:01:41) GracelenRose: That night at 8:45pm Cavern time,
(02/08 17:01:56) GracelenRose: Douglas Sharper spoke to those he called his "enemies" due to reports that some were trying to prevent his expedition.
(02/08 17:02:30) GracelenRose: "I'm ready to meet my destiny, " he declared.
(02/08 17:02:44) GracelenRose: He disclosed he had two meetings with Cate Alexander because of his tense relationship with some explorers expected to see Bahro there at war with each other
(02/08 17:03:29) GracelenRose: and clarified his mission was "to scope things out", and to "defend myself if I need to."
(02/08 17:03:51) GracelenRose: He then left without taking any questions.
(02/08 17:04:05) GracelenRose: Afterwards he visited the Watcher's Pub, Citing his trip as "almost cancelled" due to the protests of some explorers
(02/08 17:04:39) GracelenRose: he reminded everyone he was still going and that he will not kill a Bahro unless he must
(02/08 17:05:05) GracelenRose: Rils, the founder of the Dni Zoological Society and others showed their support for his mission
(02/08 17:05:34) GracelenRose: "Farewell to you all. Hope to see you again soon" he concluded
(02/08 17:05:59) GracelenRose: Earlier that evening, a group of explorers led by one called Vormaen met privately with Victor Laxman to see if they could "sway the decision to hunt the Bahro".
(02/08 17:06:34) GracelenRose: Laxman replied that the council's decision was clear. "He is to gather information only." And as to whether Sharper will actually be successful, he added
(02/08 17:07:42) GracelenRose: "If he is deluded enought to think he can accomplish that, his trip will be very short indeed".
(02/08 17:08:17) GracelenRose: he also listened to a quantum mechanics theory to reverse Wheely's death
(02/08 17:08:24) GracelenRose: which he called "crazy".
(02/08 17:08:44) GracelenRose: "But I cannot deny that I've seen crazier things in my lifetime."
(02/08 17:08:54) GracelenRose: He promised to dicuss the theory with the council
(02/08 17:09:36) GracelenRose: About 3:30 pm Cavern time the DRC issued a KI mail message
(02/08 17:10:01) GracelenRose: encouraging explorers to help feed the lake algae pellets produced in the harvest Age of Er'cana, released the previous day.
(02/08 17:10:56) GracelenRose: Extensive tests revealed that the Dni used a grain Silo in Ahshemem (formally known as Uran) to feed the algae which glowed at regular intervals,
(02/08 17:11:29) GracelenRose: thus, due to the last few centuries and because of the decimiation of dni
(02/08 17:12:00) GracelenRose: The DRC believed it may be "months" before enough of the right pellets are produced and fed via the Ashemem Silo to restore the light cycle.
(02/08 17:13:00) GracelenRose: Yet people can get "Pellet Points" for feeding algae made with the correct recipe
(02/08 17:13:19) GracelenRose: Laxman Installs Pellet Test Machine
(02/08 17:14:00) GracelenRose: Victor Laxman was seen about 3pm Cavern time that day installing a machine near the Aegura Docks
(02/08 17:14:5Cool GracelenRose: that veteran explorers believed is a machine that gauges the level of light in the lake
(02/08 17:15:0Cool GracelenRose: No statements were given at that time.
(02/08 17:15:37) GracelenRose: Please note that the Pellet Test Machine (at the Ferry Docks) has since been pulled because it was not functioning properly.
(02/08 17:16:0Cool GracelenRose: As a last note....
(02/08 17:16:36) GracelenRose: please continue with your pellet production because the light in the cavern is Brightening!
(02/08 17:16:4Cool GracelenRose: Thank you for being so patient with me tonight
{Applause, and end of the meeting}

Narameh, there are chatlogs from previous Heritage Nights nearer the beginning of this thread, but there is also an edited version here: http://mystonline.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22744

Malfhok, thank you so much! It must have been insanely exciting to be in the cavern when so much was happening all at once. I got very excited just reading through all of it. I can't help but wonder though, most of this story of course is in character. The people that died, or went mad, did they just collaborate with cyan on the story? Some of these sound like pretty intense roles to play, especially using only chat. It also showed me there are a lot of locations I haven't found yet, which makes me very happy Smile.

Unfortunately I can't be at heritage night, since I live 8 hours later than KI time, and thus 18:00 KI to me is 2 in the morning. I'll very much enjoy reading the logs afterwards though.
