Update, February 2, 2011

The KImail Invite

(inspired by Tai'lahr's excellent idea!)

A KI pic is circulating in the cavern. I'll be there off and on through Friday, then more on Saturday and Sunday. I know Lynutte has one to pass on!

Update, January 30, 2011
(Original post is below)

The Healers would like to invite you to an Anniversary "Welcome Home, Welcome Back" Celebration. This celebration is to mark the One-Year Anniversary of the re-re-opening of the Cavern on February 8, 2010. After consulting with the D'niJ and other members of the GoH and the community, we have decided on a day and time.

Day: Sunday, February 6th, 2011
Start Time: 2:00pm KI Time (14:00 KI Time, list of time zone changes forthcoming)
End Time: Tentatively 6pm KI Time (could go longer with more D'niJ's, hosts, etc.)

In addition to dancing, laughing, and general chaos, activities may include:
A welcome home and welcome back to everyone from everyone on the hour
A sojourn to the Ferry Dock to acknowledge the bahro (if they are still there) and invite new explorers to join us.
Sharing stories of the last year (or history if anyone would like to do so)

Several locations have been suggested:
Kirel
Watchers' Pub
City of A'egura
Healers' Neighborhood (Bevin)

I've updated the thread to indicate the above information. Please post your location preferences!

Original post:
Something "called" me to come over to the MOUL forums today, and I discovered this post asking about a One Year Anniversary celebration of the re-re-opening of the Cavern.

Karkadann, you are psychic! (Or maybe my KI is still broken. I keep hearing voices coming out of it rather like an old-fashioned party line. Remember those?)

The Guild of Healers hosted a Welcome Home celebration last year, which seemed quite popular. The limits on the City made it difficult for everyone to come who wanted to do so. While I'd like to put something together to welcome all our new and returning explorers to the Cavern, I would appreciate some ideas as to when and where. I can't be in the Cavern on Tuesday, the 8th itself (which might nix the entire idea), but I can be there the weekend prior or Monday the 7th and then again on Friday Feb 11th & on Sunday, Feb 13th. The weekend prior is best for me.

So first question is when? I am going to assume that on the day we choose the times should be either 'both early and later' or 'semi-early straight through to later' so that all explorers who wish do come can do so even on a weekday.

Second question is where? The GoH Hood is available and has lots of room. Besides the city, the hoods are the easiest for people to come to without an invite. I'm sure we can keep the hood public during the party.

Music will be provided, as will treats, laughter, hugs, and Much Running of the Amok. (Maybe even a wee bit o'psychic healing....)

Thoughts?

Edit: /laughatself Just realized I am hosting my own RL party on the 12th, so that day is out.[/img]

I'd say we'd hold it in either Bevin or Kirel, however I know some people have lag issues in Kirel so that would likely make Bevin the better choice.

Lag issues in Kirel, for me anyway, are solved if the light garden stays off.

Yes, the Guild of Healers Hood (Bevin) would be the place, other than an age or the City.

Input from Karkadann (from the Cavern Events Thread).

Quote:

OK First place that comes to mind is D'ni at The Plaza near the alley and If by chance we have more then 49 or People we can have the spill over in Kirel or Phil's Relto

I was just wondering... when you said "psychic healing", you don't mean this as some sort of psychic-healing-party, do you? I mean, no offense if you believe in that, i just don't want to attend that kind of party.

I'd love to join this! And as for the when, why not have it over the course of two days or three? That way, everyone can find a time. Smile

Ohhh, Pokemon, you seem to be quite easily to be scared or frightened... Haha... Very Happy

Someone like you, so deeply believing in GOD and so passionately loving our precious
Jesus, I would consider you to be much more courageous and brave or keen... /hugs... Razz

Ok, seriously, Pokemon, it also seems you don't know the Guild of Healers and
its awesome members yet... Not only is this an ancient and back then as well as
nowadays highly esteemed D'ni guild, but besides that, you know, the members
serving in this guild and thus us the explorers; if we'd be so inclined to accept this,
are also very very humorous and cheerful by nature what isn't exactly a bad thing
when trying to heal and uplift the condition and health of the people which would
possibly lead to a more sound health sooner or later... not so?... hehe...

Yeah, Pokemon, I hope you see, what I'd like to express is this that those wonderful
healer people love to be hilariously joking and making puns and much sense of no-thing
and after all a good laughter is the best medicine, I think you'd agree in that ... haha... Razz

So, please, take this all not too serious and join us in the GoH Hood in dancing and
laughing and giggling and just having some fun... Very Happy

/giggle No, no. It will not be that kind of a party. But often with music and laughter people just feel better and that is pretty nice, don't you think? And besides, if the Healers ever do have that sort of event it will be called what it is and will be offered with a good dose of humor (to balance all four of your humours). Wink I don't think I could host it, though, as I don't have any experience in that area.

I've enjoyed gatherings in the Watcher's Sanctuary, but a crowd might make it difficult for new explorers going for the Ercana / Ahnonay books.

Hope you can join us, Crystal! I don't know whether we have enough hosts to cover that much time, but it is an idea. Smile

Yes, I thought you would be, so I wanted to be sure you were forewarned.

Here's what we have so far

Day: Sunday, February 6th, 2011
Start Time: 2:00pm KI Time (14:00 KI Time, list of time zone changes forthcoming)
End Time: Tentatively 6pm KI Time (could go longer with more D'niJ's, hosts, etc.)

Now we just need to decide on a set location (or locations)
If we begin in the Healers' Neighborhood (Bevin) we can visit the (instan--edit, no we can't!) city if that seems fitting.

Other locations that have been suggested are
Takotah Plaza
Kirel
Watchers' Pub

Of course, we don't have to stay in one place (with some organizing, of course)

If you haven't posted your preference, I'd love to hear it!

Quite honestly, I'm just happy to participate in any kind of event like this that brings a lot of people to one space. I don't really have a preference, but would like to just make a few points to consider:

* Sorry, Ghae, but you can't take non-hood members to the hood instance of the city. Sad

* Seems to me that no one ever uses the Museum or Library for events like this - and just think of the historical significance of both!
