For the upcoming Re-reopening of the Cavern anniversary and the celebrations this weekend, the fireworks have been turned on in the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, the DRC could only afford one banner, so "Happy New Year" will have to do.

There are fireworks (well, there were fireworks up to a few minutes ago) and a Happy New Year's banner in Bevin! Is Cyan celebrating the Chinese New Year?

Well, right back when the cavern reopened they said that the DRC was effectively disbanded, and that if they visited in future "it would be as ordinary explorers". You could read that as meaning either that they'd be incognito in the way Karkadann mentions or that from an IC perspective they be visiting without carrying the "authority" that the DRC previously had. Personally, I took it to mean the latter, but there's nothing to say that the former hasn't been going on all along.

Cyan might be more "hands off" these days but i don't suspect that means they're not interested in the goings ons down there... this is their baby, i'd say of course they're interested...

(just not interested in the attention logging in under the username "Rand" or "Dr. Watson" might garner)
