I've tried to find the answers to these questions in fhe forum but I have not been able to find them.

I was an origional URU Beta test player, I have since purchased a full copy of URU Ages Beyond Myst and URU - The Path of the Shell and played them until the servers were shut down. I also created my own shard and played with it until the authentication system was shut down.
Can I still use these CD's with the current URU system? If so do you have instructions on how to install these CD's with the current system so they work, I tried and have had some difficulty.

I have downloaded the current software package and installed it but it did not start me at the Cleft like I expected, have you removed the Cleft from the game?

Welcome back!

The Cleft is still in the game. Did you start in Relto? If you look around, you'll notice that a few things are different from the CD Uru. Explore, and you'll find the way to the Cleft soon enough. Smile

It's a question that's been asked several times before, but not for some time, so it's not surprizing that you didn't find the answer.

When Uru Live was re-released as Myst Online: Uru Live under GameTap, a number of significant alterations were made to accomodate the use of a different Physics engine: This effectively made it incompatible with the previous versions, including those on the CD. Additionally the mechanics of some puzzles online differ from their offline counterparts. What we have here, with MOULagain, is the game pretty much as it was when the GameTap era ended.

And, as you've found, the starting point was moved away from the Cleft (a bone of contention for many people, but there was a kind of logic for it in GameTap's eyes).

The other common, related question is "Can I transfer my progress from the offline game into MOULa?" - well, the answer is no, you have to start fresh.

The other folks missed this question, kwid. NO, you do not use the URU CDs with the MOUL online game. You create an account and download the game from links in the "Play" tab above.
