I don't know where else to ask this, so this forum looked like a good place.

Anyway. In my signature, I wanted a link to a video I found in dotsub called Myst Online: Uru Live 102, because I found it superior to Myst Online: Uru Live 101 in YouTube.

I was able to download the 102 video and convert it into a .wmv file (at least, I think it's a .wmv file), which I intend to upload into YouTube, as YouTube URLs use considerably fewer characters than dotsub, leaving me more room for my signature messages. However, I don't want to get into any legal hot water with Cyan, dotsub, YouTube or anyone else. So, what I need to know is: can I legally do this?

Thanks.

I am afraid that this will conflicts with the YouTube copy right policy.
It does mention GameTap and possible you do not own the copy rights for this video.
Since YouTube is owned by Google the policy is becoming more strict and they might deny this video.

I believe that both of those videos remain the property of Gametap and that the Creative Commons license statement given by the poster on Dotsub is incorrect. All the Gametap branded assets (like the Myst Online: Uru Live 101 video) were removed from this site after the association with Gametap was dissolved.

It will come down to who's money paid to produce the video - If it was Gametap (which would seem most likely) then it needs their permission. If it was Cyan, then I wouldn't expect they'd object, but you'd need to check with legal@cyan.com first.
