Since everybody was happy this thread was resurrected before, I'll do it again . A long, long time ago, a Jewish friend of mine slept over, and we had a very relaxed, intimate evening. He sang Hebrew hymns for me until I slept, and that night in a very vivid dream, everybody called me Narameh. I felt like it fit me, and it suited my requirements for a name (1) It could be male or female 2) It is not a name on -a 3) It is not a female version of a male name). And so since that dream I've used it as my nickname .

I wish I could write phonetic script, so I could explain to all you native English speakers what it should sound like, because the -eh is definitely not an english end of word ee/y sound, but a dutch end of word -e, but between short and long. It has a slight stop at the end, somewhere between a slight g or k. If there are any Dutch people around that can write phonetically, please translate for me . Both the a's are long.

It would be easier if I dreamt names that are more easily international usable .

My main avatar is "Luna(nne)" . At a certain point in my life I decided to use "Luna" as my internet name, and it sort of stuck although now I think the reason why I choose it kind of silly. Anyway when I registered here"Luna" was already taken, so I decided to use"Lunanne". I ended up being "Luna"* in one half of the community and "Lunanne" in the other half. "Luna(nne)" seemed to be the best way to make clear who I am to everyone.

* yeah it is technically "luna" and "lunanne" because when I registered , I ignored capitals mostly. I stopped doing that.

I chose my name 'way baaack when.I'd found an online community called TORC (The One Ring.Com -- a Tolkien fan site) and needed to create a user name to join. I looked around me for inspiration and, just outside my window, a light lavender blossom caught my eye. I chose "Wisteria" and joined up (where I eventually became known as "Wiste").

Then when Uru was looking for beta testers (how many years ago was that??? Seems a lifetime ago!), I needed a user name again. By then Wisteria had become a part of me, so it made sense to choose it again. And with the beautiful settings and the flora of the Myst world, I figured it would fit right in!

After too long a hiatus (I never had a computer that would run the GameTap platform decently enough and I couldn't get the MOUL to run with Vista), I am back, exploring all the wonderful work everyone's been doing while I was too long on the surface. Hello to those I knew before and another hello to all the new people I look forward to meeting!

Grimhilde was a Gibichung noblewoman who was wooed by the Nibelungen dwarf Alberich, the latter having foresworn love for the sake of power. Their loveless affair bore a son, Hagen, who was drowned by the Rheinmaiden's in Gotterdammerung's finale as he uttered his last words: Zuruck vom Ring!

The quotation in the subject heading is when Hagen acknowledges his mother in Gotterdammerung (Act 1, scene 1)

I'm aware that Grimhilde was also the name of the evil queen in Sleeping Beauty. Heh, heh ...

Nope. That one is Cecil. He worked at Dot's Diner. The character's name I use, technically has no name; just goes by Al's Waiter. He works at Al's Wait and Eat down in Level 31 (Do I sound geeky enough now?).

I'm a huge fan of ReBoot and can out geek/trivia most people I know on it. Check out my old webpage if you want. It's been a while since I updated it, but there's plenty of info on it.

Nice! I used to dress up as one of the Rhine maidens when I was little . I think I still have that costume somewhere, I designed it myself when I was 8, and made it with some help from my mom ... Wonderful to meet someone else who was inspired by Wagner .

my name is an accident. it started out as my rl initials, repeated, but somehow I made a typo. I liked the result, but later discovered that people were mistaking me for a Palestinian woman, so it got modified somewhat. then, I found that it had been "used" (probably by me) when I went to create a login somewhere (maybe this forum) so I added more. I decided the resulting name should be pronounced like the fade-out chorus of The Beatles' "Hello Goodbye".

it happened that, after a brief period of creativity, I found that my desire to create more identities has abated. can't remember 'em or their passwords after awhile, and don't want stray identities floating out in space with no tether to me. I have a Google account but have no idea what the login and password are, for example.

I like hailahh and maybe after awhile, that will become my sole identity and I'll just leave off the others.
