Report for the record (in case it helps someone): After long AFK absence (the server seems to lose track of me sometimes this way) I returned to buzz around Fun House freely with Giant Bahro and Arch , and and some age overlay showing; bjk asked, w/text (out of age, it seemed) "Where did everybody go ?".. I noticed that I appeared to be the only avie remaining in FH age (no age members)...took a KI pic and put it away (small KI), then screen froze the view without error notice and no working keys or controls to move avie or KI or shut MOUL down; MOUL wouldn't "Window", and a PC Task manager summons wouldn't work. After time and confirming no obvious Disk activity, hit the PC power-down button with instant shutdown, on Vista 32bit PC.

Powered back up normally (Phew !), co-incidentally found a Flash update screaming for attention, tried to load MOUL and saw 'Auth. Fail.' after Licence query. Kinda knew what that meant, but still I failed to resist the temptation to keep trying, knowing full well nothing would change and this could be a Tuesday repair: Stopped trying some hours later to impose this on you'all, in hope this might help bring it forward to Monday.... if anyone is desperate enough to check this Forum:))

Thanks Chogon !!

And thanks to others' posts, I now know I wasn't alone Smile

@Abjab: that disconcerns me. i had to perform a hard shutdown not too long ago as well. scared me to death because this PC has already had it's OS wiped after having done so before and trashing it. this didn't occur along with an auth failed incident (afaik this is the only time we've encountered it at least to this extent since i've been here) but it occured after trying to minimize the uru game window. screen went black, controls locked up, couldn't call up task manager. that has never happened before or since. whether or not it has anything to do with our recent log in troubles i do so terribly hope it's not a new issue and that i won't encounter it again.

This appears to be simply a failure of the authorization server. Without that we can't log in (or, if we were ingame, we would eventually lose access to the vault server and freeze or go to black screen). I suspect the game and vault servers are still running which is why the online status widget some people have show the game as up.

The issue of turning off the power and trashing your operating system is a separate problem. This particular problem hasn't happened to me since Win98. Having the system freeze completely for me on a program crash happens only rarely on Vista and very rarely on Win7. XP is still a bit sensitive to crashing programs but I never had it eat the O/S.

The cleaning crew probably tripped over the cable to the authentication server, or someone flipped the wrong breaker to shut down the office power for the long weekend... Rolling Eyes

For some reason the database machine got tired of talking to MOULa. I put them both in a 5 minute timeout and now they are ready to talk to each other.

MOULa is back up.

Dunno why it says that. Not even sure how or if this works anymore. It's OHB's trick.

No, it's not "OHB's trick."

But, perhaps your version was acquired from OHB's site and that's why it doesn't work - which is why it's always best to go to the original source. Wink

It doesn't work because it doesn't check the Auth server. I've noticed before that it doesn't work when the auth server is out.
