For those with a slow internet (read: Main_Avvie), you'll probably just have to pause it and let it buffer for a while, and then come back. I could probably pull it from the site (it is my stream) and upload it elsewhere, but I don't see how buffering that would be any different.

no need to be dropping names Tanshin Razz well i can tell you with complete assurance that letting it sit for any prolonged length of time to let buffer does not work. i came back like twenty minutes later and the video just disappeared. hitting play did nothing but make my mouse button go click. Rolling Eyes youtube and megavideo work fine, dunno why livestream is so bloody difficult. Rolling Eyes

Well I'm uploading it to YouTube right now... it'll be up soon. When it is I'll send a link out.

You're probably having that issue with Flash where paused videos don't start back up when clicking play. Have you tried moving the seeking slider thingy just a little bit?

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEEetMBatBE

Since I have nothing better to do I'll probably end up making a transcript.

Well I got tired of transcribing... but I got a fair amount done (not really). What I have should be fairly accurate to what is being said, but who knows.

I've put it on Google Docs in the hope that somebody will continue transcribing from where I left off.

Did you really have to transcribe my "um"s and "uh"s? Wink

Let me tell you, it was hard sitting on the other side of that camera.... I could never think of a good retort to his witty banter ;p

Thanks a million for the youtube link tanshin! I guess I'll inform you that the audio and video got about 10 seconds out of sync at around the 19 minute mark. Other than that, it was very enjoyable just to listen to. Rand seems as cordial and busy as always. Smile Though I would tell him he looks nothing like Gary Busey. Razz Laughing

I'll have to toy around with the audio then... try and get it back in sync and reupload it. If there's one thing that really bugs me it's when voices aren't in sync.

And I guess we don't have to transcribe all the uhs and ums Razz

EDIT: I'm noticing that there is this strange little moment around 18:00 where the video skips... not sure what this is. The voices also stay in sync more on the livestream version... I'll have to try a different download method (perhaps there is a problem with the exporter). I have no problem going through and manually fixing things in the file (which I have been doing), but I'd rather not have to reencode it, etc.

IT'S WORKING!! /me does the super happy fun fun time happy dance!! ^_^

Tan the Man delivers... thanks, bud. yeah, if you hate out of sync voices, i hate the sound of audio getting interrupted when a video is all wacked out. i mean the sound instills homicidal rage so i'll stand for a ten second audio delay anyday ^_^

thanks Tanshin

least i don't have to ask if Rand still has his ponytail i can see for myself Razz he's one sharp look'n fella Cool

ya know, something seems oddly familiar about how he's framed so nicely between the Skype video chat window Razz
edit: now that i've watched more of the vid apparently Rand thinks the same lol

Some of my favorite highlights from the chat...

- "I have people. People that inform me of all the things you guys are complaining about." Cool
- "There is no timeline. However, there is a timeline for the release of the timeline."
- "OHB can join me for dinner if he doesn't leave the state of Florida." Razz
- and my favorite "They want you to get in the fireplace" HA!!

I also got a kick out of his reluctance to play Myst III and IV because of his acting. I'm with him on that. I don't think his acting is bad, I think it lends Myst nice charm and it's better than I would have done (or even brought myself to do) but from his perspective, I can see why. we are our own worst critics. if it were me i'd cringe.

Oh! and i like his comment about the games on his shelf "Those are some games I've heard about." HaHA!!!

Mr. Miller has such a quick wit. and it was so gracious of him to give us a tour of his office. I must say it puts the Myst Library to shame!! and just look at that view! Shocked Awesome!! Cool

I also love the fact that he had the Myst novels on the left side of the fireplace. I would love to have hard covers of those books.

I also laughed when they asked for an Achnar impression.

It was a very enjoyable, and definitely not boring interview.
