I’m not, since I don’t speak Greek, but maybe someone else is… Wink

Seriously now: If you think it would be worthwhile to make a Greek localization, then by all means go ahead – all contributions are welcome! Of course a localization also needs to be maintained over time, so having several people who can continue contributing after some lose time or interest, and can also review each other’s translations, is a plus.

Point of data: to date, there have been zero downloads of Zik Clock from Greece. Confused

And you’ve been prolific – thanks much! Very Happy I have added comments to some of your translations, I assume you have been notified of them.

Zik Clock joins the URU Localization Project!

Since his return, OHB has been hard at work extending the ULP infrastructure to support localization of iOS apps, tirelessly submitting to all my nitpicking Smile, with the result that Zik Clock is now ready to take advantage of the flock of polyglot Uru fans at the ULP, as it was originally planned.

Go to http://rel.to/ulp and log in, then select Zik Clock among the three projects to see what there is to do. The English and German localizations are complete and are what Zik Clock currently ships with, French is in the works, and further languages are awaiting your contribution!

We are gearing up for a new release of Zik Clock right now, and the French translation that will be part of it is almost done. It could use some reviewing love from French-speaking users!

Any discussion about Zik Clock localization can happen in the URU Localization Project forum.

The previous localization service at http://www.getlocalization.com/zikclock/ will stay active for the time being, however I expect most activity to move to the ULP eventually, at which point the project on Get Localization can be retired. Synchronization between the two is manual however, so they might not always agree.

Zik Clock 1.3 is now available in the App Store!

What’s new in this version:
  • High-resolution graphics on retina display devices
  • Accessibility for visually impaired users using VoiceOver
  • French and Swedish localization, thanks to the fine folks at the URU Localization Project

Don't know if this has been asked before but, is there any chance of porting this app over to Android?

There is little chance of me doing it – I’m happy with iOS and have no plans to expand to another platform for the time being. As instructive as it might be, I just lack the time.

As for the chance of you doing it (or convincing someone else to do it) – the source code is here, and if there are any questions about it, I’m happy to assist.

Actually, I'd me more than happy to try porting this to Android. Not long ago I finished quite a few (60+) tutorials for android development, and I've been itching for a project to work on. No promises, but I'll try. Wink

Edit:

Also, for the Android users, is there a particular version of Android you prefer? My phone runs 2.3.3, but I know there are still some people on 2.2 that are rooted, or just with phones that don't yet support the newer OS.

I'm one of those on Version 2.2, on my Samsung Captivate (AT&T), and it's doubtful they will update it any further. So At least for now I'd be very interested in this app, if it would run on Android 2.2 (Froyo). Thanks much!

Okay, I'll just roll with 2.2 then, because I'm fairly sure 2.2 applications will work fine on 2.3.3.
