I'm still waiting to be able to donate to have this done. Confused

the donated funds in general are meant to go towards keeping the server online and fixing bugs and glitches whenever cyan can manage... at this point CAVCON is at the point where the finances should support bug fixes provided Cyan can find the other resources required... such as time (obviously of the precious variety) and somebody to do it...

so, as far as i can tell, CAVCON is in a position to support bug fixes, Cyan, however... may not be... however involved the task...

so if you wish to contribute, all contributions go into the general CAVCON fund for use wherever appropriate...

If you look back through the threads about donations, a wish was expressed to be able to donate for something specific.

The fix is to move the three "cPythCalStar06" Python components from the minkExteriorDay page to the minkExteriorNight page.

Eh, are you sure? Confused

All Cyan has to do is set the boolean argument in the Python component for cPythCalStar06Get (xCalendarStar file) to true. Then it will do its required initialization stuff during OnFirstUpdate instead of OnServerInitComplete, which it missed due to not being loaded at that point. And that is even less work. Wink

Edit:The night page btw would have the same problem since it is not initially loaded either. And storywise there could be a reason for the sparkly to appear during the day time so moving it to night Minkata may be be undesirable.

I like your fix even better than mine in that case Wink

D'Lanor has three changes checked into our MOULSCRIPT-ou mirror repo here so far:

https://bitbucket.org/OpenUru_org/moulscript-ou

We would enjoy another as a Minkata fix pull request from D'Lanor. At the very least it will improve the chances of getting implemented in MOULa. Wink It would be better if it were also tested and confirmed as a fix on a MOULa compatible shard.

The simple one byte fix has to be done in a content file (prp) for which we do not have a license. The Python script already has a fix which becomes active once it receives the proper information from the prp file.
That is how it was fixed back in 2007 and if someone had not changed the value of a certain parameter from true(1) to false(0) since then it would still be working.

Ah, gotcha. I remember that now that you mention it, and I assume the info has been passed on to Chogon. Given the circumstances of the times, I suspect Cyan would not implement it until there is a more substantial reason to produce an update to MOULa. If we know when such an update might happen, it would be worth a reminder to get it tested and included at that time.

With the latest attention to the CAVCON Meter, and the work that Chogon was about to embark on, maybe this fix is becoming closer to reality. We can hope.

Aren't we a bit beyond the point of IC by now? not that it would hurt...
