I went on a photo safari for Sandscrit and Urwin today, and got shots of both, though not the best.

Has anyone seen a Two Tailed Monkey in MO:ULA? I watched out windows in Negilahn for hours and never saw one. Their calls are in the background audio, but they never seem to show.

No I haven't spent enough time to see the monkey. Which windows are you watching out of. Top are the best. I prefer the top window where the relto page is. When he/she does turn up it stays there for a bit longer that the other side. In my experience that is. Very Happy

Thanks for the tip. I was watching out of the mid-level window and the top-level window across from the Relto page. Next time I go photo hunting, I'll try that one.

Between my associate at work and I, we have a few good photos. Does anyone know of a way to export pictures from MOULA, or do you have to use screen captures?

Unlike the offline Uru game which saved KI pictures in a folder on your computer, our KI images are saved on the MOULa server. I'm not exactly sure if there's a way to get these off easily.

For screen captures, I use a registered version of Fraps, which allows me to take jpg images on the fly as well as capture movies within MOULa. The unregistered version has a few annoying features, so I paid to get the registered version.

I've recently been playing around with a 3D maker in Roxio 2011 that merges two images into a Red/Blue 3D pictures. I use Fraps to get the two images using the side step to create the 'right eye' view. Here's an example just for fun:

Now all I gotta do is remember where I put my 3D glasses

Wow! Well done, chuckles ... I'm glad I didn't throw my glasses away the last time
I dumped useless stuff ... I've thrown away my old 3D glasses, but I kept the red/cyan
anaglyph glasses which are turning your Kemo so realistically into 3D now ... Awesome ... Very Happy

Edit: When I look at it again and again, it looks almost better than In-Game lol ... Razz

Well, still haven't taken time to try to catch a monkey on camera, but I have something a little unusual to share.

How about a monkey's eye view of Negilahn?

Another Outside picture - Kiri, up close and personal.

I was slightly disappointed that they didn't skin the pod, but you can't have everything, I guess. Smile

Edit: I got my monkey picture. I created a new topic for my pictures, and am writing a little IC travelogue style commentary to go with them. The topic is called "From the Age Zoologist".

I tried using Fraps, but when I hit the hotkey (F10) to get a screencap, it jerked me around in another direction. I suspect it was because I was in fly mode.

As is, KI pictures are doing me well enough for now.

If you are using Windows, a copy of your KI pics are saved in C:\Users\<yourusername>\Documents\Uru Live\KIimages. These have the 4 byte code padding at the beginning so no Windows program will open them. I believe Irfanview(?) and perhaps Photoshop might open them. There are also utilities to remove the first four bytes of the saved JPEG files so Windows graphics programs can open them. Sorry, but I cannot remember where to get them... try googling "KI image bug".

So they are.

None of the programs I have on my computer right now open them, but that's okay. What I'm going to try is importing pictures from my Offline Uru and see if they are visible. That'd allow me to share them with other players.

I can't find it at UO but the MYSTlore link works.

That's where the KI pictures go. I seem to have forgotten that, although Irfanview does open them. Thanks Johnsojc!

And if you use Irfanview, you can open them and re-save to another location after unclicking all the boxes:

From here you have a windows-ready ki-shot that can be opened with any program

I downloaded and used KI Image Fixer, and that did the job nicely.
