Yes. You can make your hood public/private, but you have to re-log on afterwards for it to take effect, so in order to bump up your hood on the nexus you have to make it private, log out & back in, then make it public & log out & back in again.
This bug also effects KI mail. It sends ok, but the recipient won't get it until they log in again.

we definitely have no luck about the KI. this is the 3rd time it went broken. and each time some days after a reboot

see u in city or do we have to make the greeters hood the new place to meet ?

I have another stupid question...

Let say he is a res engineer, when was the last time he was in the public city? I want the exact day and KI time.


I'm under impression someone is messing around.


Here's a little fairy tale about a soothsayer


Once upon a time there was this little explorer named Annabelle.

One day she logged into the Cavern, all was fine the KI were fine, all went well, the next day she went back into the Cavern, she saw that "Dogherra" was there, KI went berserk, all went wrong. She was upset.

Three weeks later, she logged into the Cavern, all was fine the KI were fine, all went well, the next day she went back into the Cavern, she saw that "Dogherra" was there again, KI went berserk, all went wrong. She was mad.

After the holidays, she logged into the Cavern, all was fine the KI were fine, all went well, the next day she went back into the Cavern, she saw that "Dogherra" was there once more!!!, KI went berserk, all went wrong. She was out of her mind.

"Now what about the soothsayer?", you might ask, well...let me finish this fairy tale about a soothsayer, you'll understand

She then decided to visit a soothsayer (here is your soothsayer, the one of the story).

"Oh wise guy, can you tell me what is happening in the Cavern?", she asked

"Oh my child, something mysterious is happening in the Cavern, everytime you'll see "Dogherra" in the public city, this will mean the KI will be frozen until the next update 2 and half weeks later!!!", he answered her back

"Might be the time I asked about who is behind "Dogherra" then", she thought


Well, the moral of the story is that this fairy tale was just written for fun don't take it too seriously.


Serious Part:

I would like to know if the "Dogherra" I saw 3 times in the City was the REAL one which happen to be a REAL ResEng or if it is someone hacking the server a BLACK HAT who causes disruption in the KI each freaky time he goes online just to PISS a whole community OFF.

That explorer wears a ResEng hat but that doesn't prove anything. I noticed he wasn't talking to anyone. A ResEng, shouldn't he supposed to be helping the community, to take the pulse of the community, to understand what is going on? I doubt the guy is a REAL ResEng in my opinion!

It's an interesting story. But I wouldn't be so sure, at least not for this time.

We first noticed the KI issue when we couldn't see bjk in our buddy lists, on Thursday noon my time, and about 05:00 ki time. I don't have a log anymore, but janeerah and Wabbit were there as well and can verify it for you. Only a couple of explorers were affected at that moment, and by later that night, about 12:00 ki time, that I got back to the City, the KI bug had turn massive again and the ResEng avvie was there. After the bug appeared, anyway.

Also, it would be harder to explain how the KI number that a few of us got from TOOO (he had it from back in the day) and added to our buddylists, that was supposed to correspond to ResEng M.Dogherra would now belong to a hacker.

This is disconcerting. I don't know what the problem can be attributed to so I'm not going to speculate (or point fingers) but it has become a recurring problem that hasn't been getting fixed in the usual manner.

So then what can fix it? Or is that going to take a while? because it's pretty blasted hard to interact with the game and other explorers when the programs interface is dysfunctional.

btw, about what happened this time, MANY THX to whoever was on this to fix the issue (heard and read about a server down event yesterday)

Thank you Mac_Fife that answers my question. In other word, my whole point was: is he or not the real ResEng? You made it clear, he is the real one.

I saw him only three times and it was always when there was a KI issue so he must be there because of that afterall.

I was under the impression that a ResEng was a game support guy a little bit more interactive with explorers. The first time I saw him I introduced myself and welcomed him but I had no reply. That was the thing that made me thought of someone illegitimate.

At least, next time, I will know that he is a real ResEng and that he might not interact with explorers in Cavern. I will let him work then in peace.
