Post Posted: Wed Feb 01, 2012 9:31 pm — Post subject: February 2012 Monthly Calendar Release

Shorah,

Charura has gently chastised me for not posting that the February 2012 calendar wallpaper has been placed on mystgallery. I usually have the wallpaper automatically post at 12:01 AM the beginning of each month but I occasionally wait until sometime later to actually post in the forums. So here goes...

The February 2012 monthly calendar wallpaper image has been posted at www.mystgallery.com/wallpapers. The image is of J'nanin from MYST III: Exile. I posted why I think I used the image on my website. When posting here, let me know where you are in the world and what the weather is like. I'm curious.

Hope you all enjoy the image.

Regards,

Thank you Almak for the February 2012 calendar.
Great picture which brings back nice memories.
I must confess that I had a sneek peek on your site and that the calender was already on my desktop. Very Happy

This is absolutely breathtaking and beautiful, Almak ... I'd really like to install it immediately
to breathe in this atmosphere and the appealing beauty personally ... You just always intuitively
know what we all need ... Thanks a lot for such a wonderful surprise, Almak ... Very Happy

As of the weather here in Berlin in Germany, we've had so far (as of myself, most people prefer
the cold and snowy winter lol) a wonderful spring-like winter with unusual mostly mild temperatures,
but by the end of January a strong winter has arrived with much snow in many parts of Germany,
no snow here in Berlin (just one day a little bit), but temperatures around 18-20°F in the daytime
with 'feels like' much colder and now at night time, let's see ... ohhh, it's unbelievable, we have now
13°F (7°F tomorrow night) and 'feels like' -1°F ... Shocked ... Yeah, this too will pass lol ... Razz

And isn't it sweet, Almak, when they're often going to grab your gems already beforehand? ... Cool

Ohhhhhh! That is beautiful! Exile is one of my very favorite 'other worlds' I visit, so this is perfect.

Well, here in Paradise, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, it is always pleasant. Funny to others, I know, but when the temp drops to the 70s during the day, and down into the 60s during the night (Brrrrrr) it seems cold. It's 72* right now and I"m bundled up in a sweatshirt, long pants, socks and shoes...and still chilly. LOL (Of course, when it gets up to 89*, we think we are dying from the heat!)

Love it! Really brings out my desktop.

Weather here is muddy, with a chance of rain. Kind of like Channelwood but without the channels. Very Happy

Oh beautiful Almak! As usual. Although I did feel I needed a nice red heart, after all, it is Valentine month so I took the liberty of giving myself one. Now it's perfect!! Happy Valentine's Day Almak!

OK, Almak, after looking at your beautiful Feb picture for several days, I couldn't stand it anymore and downloaded Exile. The game has some of the best worlds ever, particularly Armateria. **sighs contentedly** Thanks again!

I know it's the end of the month now (which just means you've all had 28 days to look at it),
but has anyone spotted what is wrong with the picture?

In case you can't spot it :
The door is not on that side, there is a viewing window there, the door is on the other side.

I wonder what you mean, Alien ... The door is on the other left-hand side with that
bridge leading to the stone pillar, the door looks very similar to the window though ...
Please, have a look at these original ones for comparison ... Here and here ... Very Happy

From the angle in the Feb 2012 calender pic, there is no door there.
What is there is a viewing window.
As you show in your 2nd link the door is on the other side with a bridge to it.

I'm playing Myst III now and anyone else who can fire up Myst III should be able to confirm it.

In the first picture, I can see the bridge. But it is still on the far side of the building. The viewport should be where the door is in that picture.

Here's an in-game pic from Myst III from the same (ish) angle :

Maybe Ubi Soft tampered with the viewing angle or so to make it look more
beautiful and appealing haha ... as Almak's one is the one on every cover for
whatever edition, gaming device or OS etc., like PC, Play Station, XBos,
international versions etc ... (see Google Myst Exile pictures if you like) ...Razz

However, the beautiful J'nanin environments are so amazing and captivating,
even if they turned that tower upside down it'd be just wonderful to look at ...
Thanks for posting the real in-game view for comparison nonetheless, Alien ... Very Happy
