Post Posted: Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:23 pm — Post subject: Minkata Marker Missions?

Since I've already completed Minkata legitimately once, and I got seriously fed up during it, I am doing the Age with the help of the walkthrough with my new avvie. However, the fourth Kiva (as I recall they are called) continues to elude me. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone was able to make a marker mission with routes to all 5 Kivas, or if anyone was aware of who I might be able to get one off. Anyone?

Shorah DLordofTime,

Annabelle and MrMouski are the likeliest folks to have marker missions for Minkata. You might try PMing them here (they are both very active on the forums).

Also Mac_Fife's website has a very well done map for Minkata here: http://www.mcintoshuk.plus.com/urulive/MinkataMap.pdf
There is also more Minkata information at his site just up a directory (http://www.mcintoshuk.plus.com/urulive/).

Will do. Btw, how about having that meet-up in the Cavern that we were going to have on Sunday?

Shorah DLordofTime,

Sounds like a good plan. What time will you be in Cavern this Sunday? Now that you have a new avvie, you no longer show up on my buddy list so I've had no idea if you were around when I've been down there (but if you send me your KI#, I will add you by hand).

BTW, I sent you an email regarding our research project. Hope you got it!

I've got a set. You can find me in the GoG hood around CST 6:30, 7:00-ish, and I stay until about 8:30. That's 1730-1930 KI time.

You don't need marker missions

Edit : This is now a broken link, see this post for the new link.

I use instincts for Kiva, I'm a desert fox Laughing

I always bring back the soccer ball first since it's the "hardest" task to do there.

By the way, a trick Wink

In night time when you stand right in middle of the "prison", you see clearly all the kivas.

I don't do it like that because it's too easy but here's the simplest way to solve Minkata without even link out of it Laughing

1st) run to the 1st Kiva, touch the sign, do all the stuff to run back to get one fifth of the portal

2nd) touch the button inside "prison" to return to night time, spot one of the 4 remaining kivas, run there do all the stuff needed

3rd) touch the button inside "prison" to return to night time, spot one of the 3 remaining kivas, run there do all the stuff needed

4th) touch the button inside "prison" to return to night time, spot one of the 2 remaining kivas, run there do all the stuff needed

5th) touch the button inside "prison" to return to night time, spot the last remaining kiva, run there do all the stuff needed

6th) Voilà! you're done with Minkata Very Happy

Am I a cheater or not? Cool Wink Laughing

Annabelle,

You are not 'cheating'. The only problem is: not everyone can see the glow produced by the kivas at night. I do but i know a bunch who can't see this. Of course, this is the simplest way to solve it.

I realised that that is the only way to assist someone else with Minkata when I did just that, but I never realised that you could spot the Kivas at night... I'll go investigate.

well...cheating is going around the intended way to solve a puzzle.

In the case of Minkata, Cyan's intentions were for us to use the complex system of coordinates not to do a workaround like I (and many others do too).
