After a long search on YouTube, I turn to here to see if I can find somewhere where I can listen to the recorded speech from the Bevin Community Room podium. Can anyone help me?

According to this thread, the speech you are interested in was a recording of someone talking in D'ni; and both this speech and the Kirel recording of Dr. Watson are only in the offline Uru (not in MOUL/MOULa). So I would guess that you will need to find the sound file in your offline game (assuming you have one) in order to listen.

If you don't happen to have an offline installation, PM me and I'll see what I can come up with to help you out here.

If you have the full Uru CC version...

The path...
Uru Complete Chronicles game folder/sfx subfolder/file "krelWatson eng.ogg" (audio file). There are other language options.

Free IrfanView can read "ogg files"
Free Audacity can read or reformat "ogg files" (to wav or with the Lame add on to mp3 format)

Btw, I beleive your thread could be renamed to Kirel Podium Speech (from Bevin). Wink

Actually, I suspect DLordofTime really does want to hear the Kirel podium speech, not Watson's speech. I believe he's been studying the D'ni language for quite some time and I expect tracking down this recording is in pursuit of these studies.

However, for a final answer, he will need to enlighten us himself.

Yes, I do want to hear the D'ni. Staring at a transcription that somebody else made can only get you so far... And, unfortunately, I do not have an offline version of Uru yet.

I now suspect that it is more about the small and very bad & low quality voice audio file found in the streaming cache folder...

And that would be for the Bevin's podium.

The path is:
Myst Uru Complete Chronicles\sfx\streamingCache\nb01DniPodiumSpeech.wav

Edited: new suggestion

Go to the new shards site(s) and ask them if that file is included with their's installaton. Wink

:tongue-in-cheek: I thought Bevin was a single neighborhood where the DRC dumped all those annoying folks Zandi kept sending down into the Cavern. Now Kirel was where the DRC hung out... the place with the coffee and soda machines and a real working toilet. There sure seem to be a lot of places around that look like the Bevin neighborhood....
