What does 3 1 4 mean in this picture?

It's just a fun little play on words, nothing to do with solving any of the major puzzles. However, I think this thread should be moved to the Spoiler section.

Thank you, veralun. Smile

Now, samd, you've translated the D'ni numbers accurately. What do you suppose they mean (to humans, not the D'ni)?

Perhaps this thread will give you a clue.

I don't believe that's been proven to be the meaning in this case (besides, what on earth does it have to do with anything? It's not a play on words if there's nothing to play on).

I vaguely remember the claim that it was to do with a puzzle that was removed in development, but I don't know if that's been proven either. Something like it was connected to the map of Teledahn and when they reused the image for artwork in the Baron's office they took some shortcut that hid the numbers normally but revealled them on KI pics.

The best answer I can give is that it has no real meaning and is just a curiosity of the game.

Clearly, you didn't get the joke, Bogardan Mage. I believe it is an intentional Easter Egg and yes, it is a play on words if you figure it all out.

Mushroom pie? I don't get it.

You sure it doesn't have some deeper meaning planned? I mean, what was it, 1904 I think it worked out to? Is that a date of note in the chronology?

Clearly. Or perhaps there's no joke to get. Do you have a source that states this is definitely what it is or are you just guessing like everyone else?

It doesn't work out to 1904, because the numerals are separated. It works out to 3 1 4. It does not work out to 3.14, nor does it work out to 3/14. It's not impossible that it might be aluding to those things, but I consider it unlikely.

Here's a previous discussion with many theories including my own (3rd post) and what appears to be Tai'lahr's (which still leaves me unimpressed)

There is also a drawing of a double mushroom in the top room with a number on it . I asume both are part of a puzzle , or several puzzles never fully implemented .

Well, I am ashamed and embarrassed on multiple fronts. First, that I allowed myself to be duped by a more experienced explorer into believing this fallacy about an Easter Egg back when I was just a naive explorer in 2007. Second, that I attempted to foist the same lie upon another naive explorer. My sincere apologies to samd. Third, that I failed to find the earlier thread about this. I must go tear up my librarian card and burn my greeter t-shirt!

Y'all have fun picking it to pieces. Very Happy

Hmm, in that case the numbers are joined so it says 32 ([1][7] in base 25).

This has been driving me up the wall since 2003. It was one of the first things I've checked in every update of Uru since Prologue, and to this day I'm no closer to having any answers than I was when I started.

And what do you usually do when something like this bothers you? Wink

Weren't there plans at one point for a second area of Teledahn to be opened?

Teledahn II?

It was listed as Phase One on the DRC site... which suggests that it never progressed very far but that it was part of the long-term plan for Uru.

I wonder if this was an early clue to a puzzle in a part of Teledahn that was planned but never finished.
