Kind of spoilerish, but this has been bugging me since I first played Riven, many, many years ago. If it's too spoilerish to answer, feel free to ignore...

When the linking books in Gehn's age are powered, the 'vacuum tube'-like thingies surrounding their stands are lit.
When the linking books in the fire-marble domes on Riven are powered, these thingies are not lit. Logically, I think they should be. Am I correct? And if so, why aren't they?

This has really annoyed me from the moment I first solved that puzzle. Wink

Was this a bug/oversight/budget issue?

I have good and bad news guys. Bad news is that Robyn Miller has had to cancel his appearance due to various reasons. Robyn gave his apologies to anyone who's disappointed by this.

The good news is that Rand is still scheduled to appear. Very Happy

If anything happens in the mean time I will send out an update. Until then, feel free to continue leaving questions for Rand!

Since RealMyst is now being re-made for iOS, any chance we will see Myst 5 on the iPad? The tablet gameplay would be perfect for the iPad.

I came up with another one that's really been bugging me:
Why do you have construction sound effects in Tokotah I? If the DRC have supposedly left the cavern, then it shouldn't be too hard to switch the sound effect with the one in complete chronicles.

Were there ever any long-term plans for an in-game way of letting players build or shape ages in Uru? If so, can you talk about them?

Since you are using Unity, will RealMyst be coming to android devices after the initial iPad release (or the Chrome webstore, or any of the other platform targets)?

Would you currently consider Cyan to be an 'indie' game dev?

Can we expect to see a Cyan booth at Pax Prime at the end of August (showing off iRealMyst or otherwise)?

We've now done 2 of these Q&As... how about we just start scheduling them every year?

3-1-4. Why? What does it mean? Was it a setup for a puzzle that didn't pan out? Is it an in-joke or reference to something at Cyan HQ or one of the art designers? Is it an accidental leftover from testing the KI and alpha layers? What does it MEAN?!

And if you don't know, do you know who did the texture work on that age so we can ask them? Wink

Something I've always wondered…

The similarities between the area in Cosmic Osmo where Osmo is listening to the radio, and the Cleft in Uru where Zandi listens to the radio, have always been striking to me. When the Cleft was being designed, did anyone ever throw out a "wouldn't it be funny" type suggestion that Zandi should have a hammer and use it to turn off the radio when explorers came near him? Very Happy

For the last 2 years (on saturday nights), on a regular basis, the DMR (D`ni Musicological Research) Hood has been broadcasting different music genres (through ustream.tv) from all over the world. 9000 listeners, and counting, have hit our website so far. This includes people playing the game or not even aware of its presence.

In order to raise money for CAVCON, we (members of the DMR) think it would be a great idea to welcome Robyn Miller LIVE for a special Myst music concert. This event, in itself, would be one to remember and, at the same time, be the perfect one for a donation to Cyan.

Rand, can you talk to Robyn about this and see if he would agree to be our special guest for this unforgettable event ?
