It's legal because he has contacted Cyan's legal department and they have given him permission. They are quite good at allowing fans to sell items they make themselves as long as it's not a commercial enterprise.

I have ordered and received a full set of 5 Journey Cloths, and 3 Shell Cloths. I could not be happier with the reproductions I received. Each one is an unique hand made Cloth, In great detail with no two being exactly the same. These are true pieces of Art and worth every penny of the cost.
