Uhm... I don't know what to say here. Sorry I can't help with your problem. Embarassed It sounds really weird to me. I would suggest deleting UruExplorer.exe and launching UruLauncher.exe, but I doubt that'll fix your problem.

Try firing up a bunch of CPU hungry programs in the background when you play MOULa. Since it has worked once before I expect that in your specific case this may just slow down your computer enough to experience the new (or old pre-MOUL if you prefer) landing behavior.
Sounds silly huh? Well, that's how broken the current physics are. Wink

Yes, that’s the exact problem (or one of them) that Skoader’s modifications – which I haven’t gotten around to checking out yet – are supposed to fix.

Here's the short story...Christian Walther wrote a post on my topic "Hard Skydiving Stuffs" here on this forum explaining to me why I didn't raise a flag when it was tested on Minkata. I answered back that it was because of the ratio framerate issue. THEN, I logged on MOULa to find Henry there. I reexplained to him all the story and the post made by Christian and my answer back, he told me: "the server load is different since Minkata is less populated"

That’s almost correct, except that it’s (most probably) not a matter of server load. It’s the load on the client (which depends on how fast your computer is, how complex the age you’re in is, how many avatars are in it, what programs are running in the background, and a lot more) that affects your frame rate and thereby the physics behavior. Hopefully that will soon be a thing of the past.

We’ll be sure to organize some more group testing events on the Minkata shard in the future, where the effects of crowds can be judged a bit better than in the usual solitary testing.

Exactly the same happened to me, I just logged in again to be sure, Leighana, so you're not alone ... Razz

This is not my computer btw lol, I don't have a proper standing jump on the Minkata shard as well,
I never had a good one there, but I have a wonderful and perfect standing jump on the Gehn shard
and on the TOC shard, it is so perfect and smooth, you can almost feel it personally lol ... Very Happy

Edit: With all the testings on all shards I almost forgot to mention, dearest Lyros, thank you
so much for the wonderful fast, and elegant solution for the skydivers and all interdimensionally
travelling explorers in our community ... Smile

That’s because the Gehn and TOC clients have an unlocked frame rate, which has the side effect of circumventing the bug that causes the shortened jumps.

I just find it funny that it does the short jump at 30FPS, but when I get it to 29FPS (Gahreesen at full settings on my laptop) it works! Laughing

Literally no one thinks that "cyan is god". Can people not disagree without weird assumptions and insults?

And if it's just one mod, that's not a "following". Most people can't exactly hide/close threads.

Not all of us are even all that good at picking up on that sort of thing.

I just get afraid of people falsely grouping each other to certain extremes. There are enough disagreements over what people really think, let alone what people think each other think. And then you can have people/groups with an exaggerated image of how unreasonable or rude another person/group is.

Guess I've never been a fan of exaggeration.

Sorry, this is Off Topic here.

Ya we can figure out Cyan's puzzles in a heart beat but seem to be totally clueless in figuring each other out. colon pee

Post Posted: Thu Jun 28, 2012 2:13 am — Post subject: Torn

For me, I'm torn between the loss of My Quests and the coolness of the changed PhysX.
The programmers and coders, tested and made changes to the MOUL,a physics believing it would help to fix bugs, close out exploits of them and improve the overall MOUL,a. intended game experience.
My own best guess is that Cyan and the powers that be, never intended for the physics bugs we found and exploited to be made into or incorporated into all our Quest Games so much as they were.
And so they accepted the fixes and changes.
Because so many Quest builders for many years from MOUL, last to MOUL, again made as a theme for their Quests those physics glitches to out of normal play places, this created a conundrum for all that has now to come to head here.
I CAN NOT disagree with the point of view that MOUL,a is not a guaranteed game with which any Quests made will survive indefinitely.
I also don't feel the programmers/ coders did anything wrong by trying to fix and improve MOUL,a bugs and physics to a better contained game play.
Nor do I think they missed that their changes would mess up so many Quests involving out of normal play places.

I know the message and connection I wanted some to get and make is that Our Quests aren’t just games!
Our Quests are the New In-Game Fan Created Content for MOUL,a until Open Source actually is able to get some actual real fan Age created content into MOUL,a, something that seems to be very far off and unlikely to happen anytime soon, if ever.
Look, I have heard MOUL,a referred to as a bare bones dead game that survives in spurts of donations made by those IN-GAME explorers playing it!
All Quest Game Makers hold and have an important role within the cavern community and destroying their's and upsetting them has gotten the expected reaction.

I think what is needed to be heard from the programmers and coders are, we are sorry that the updates we gave to Cyan messed up so many Cool Quest Games. And we aren't discounting you or their value to the community.
But when you chose to incorporate something not meant to be played in the game into your Quests, you did so at your own risk and that someday it might eventually get fixed. And it got fixed to a large extent and we are sorry it hurt you.
Stay and make new Quests please? OK

For myself, I'm moving on. . . and would like to thank the programmers/ coders for the cool stuff they did for me!
Thank you for fixing the last Minkata sparklie for me to get all mine completed and working.
I'm very tickled over the fix you all did with restoring the load and save columns feature in Jalak Age.
Huge to get that back because that alone opened up again great possibilities for future Quest making for me and to host a Quest already made much simpler to do.
The new physics has my avatar actually acting like a real life explorer within the game now and being carried forward by momentum when landing. It does add more realism and a new challenge to master.
Wow I have a lot of Quests to fix!
