Shorah everyone,

I have not been able to play Uru as much as I would like, and even less now that I am on my own, but there is some time coming up that I will be able to play again.

I was wondering if a few specific locations are available to explore:

The Great Shaft
The age where you meet Escher in Myst V

And I need a Walkthrough and some Bullet Points of what needs to be done to get back to Myst Island.

I have completed Yeesha's Journey, but have not finished any POTS Quests, and I really have not done much as far as the Great Zero goes, I have the first set of Markers and am working on the second.

And and all comments about this are welcome.

Thanks everybody.

The Library is the only part of Myst in Uru, and to get to it, you'll need to complete the POTS journeys. You can find walkthroughs on the Guild of Greeters website

(called Decent in Uru) by finding the bahro stone at the end of Takotah Alley where it drops off. It may only appear in the neighborhood instance, though.)

I'm not sure what age you're referring to about meeting Esher. IIRC, he first appeared in the caldera, and then in the Great Shaft, and then in the other ages in that game.

If you are referring to Direbo, the entrance to the other four ages, then no. Neither Direbo or the other four ages from Myst V are accessible in Uru, sorry.

The volcano in Cleft is where Esher first appears in Myst 5, but it’s not accessible in MOULa, if you do somehow manage to hop the fence surrounding the volcano you’ll fall through if try to climb it & panic link back to Relto.
As the others have previously mentioned the only part of the Myst age accessible in MOULa is the library and you do need to complete Ahnonay & Er’cana to get there.
The Great Shaft is just a bahro stone away, but you can’t really explore the shaft itself, go too far in either direction & an invisible wall pushes you off the ledge if you try to go further. But Descent aka D'ni-Tiwah does have a couple of perks not available in URU CC.

Marion,

Dereno was not in Myst V, maybe you are thinking of Taghira.

Descent in MOULa is not the same as the Great Shaft in Myst V,
The linking book to Direbo is gone, a sparklie motif has appeared, and some reading books & a Relto page are also there now.
The lift in the shaft does not work, and if you were to manage to get to the bottom, the two side entrances are gone, and the button in the middle is also gone.
(The graphics are also not quite as detailed)

K'veer is also different,
Gone is the "bubble" that contained the tablet, and now there is a Nexus book. Up in the round room, there is now a linking book to Myst Library. The book to Myst island (in Myst V) is gone.

Yes, obviously she's thinking of Taghira, but saying that it's the same as Dereno. ICly-speaking, no, it's not, but obviously, the pod ages in MOUL are a recycling of the basic idea from Myst V and some of the same textures and sounds may have been used.

I was referring to the very beginning of Myst V, in the when Escher first introduces himself, in him Jumba Jukeba voice, IIRC, I guess it is near the Cleft but inaccessible? But okay, I can't go there.

What are the Benefits to Descent? I got there, but I found a Relto page and a Sparklie, is that all? Is there any lore behind this?

And on a different note, once I get to Myst Island, can that code I found in the Alternate Vault from Kadish Tolesa be used there? If not, what is the purpose of that note.

The beginning of Myst V, where you first meet Escher, is in the Cleft, inside the dead volcano.

Yes that's about all you'll find in Descent (along with a KI light dispenser I forgot to mention above).
In Myst V, Escher tells you "Re-gah-ro-ti-wah, The Great Shaft, amazing, is it not? Built by those from beneath, My people. I am D'ni. It was this shaft that permitted the great Grand-mother of Yeesha to find our city. ... She killed us all, and the Great D'ni City lies lifeless and ruined."
There are fans to supply fresh air to the D'ni, and you see one of them in Myst V just before you enter the Great shaft.

No, the code in Myst does not work in MOULa, you cannot climb into the fireplace in MOULa.

(someone correct me if I am wrong)

@ Alien:

You can climb into the fireplace in MOULa. It's a bear trap though. Once there, the only way out is by using relto book and nothing work, we cannot close the panel and input code. You cannot enter or exit the fireplace like we are used to do in URU:CC.

How did you get into the fireplace? I just tested it, and it's not clickable so your avatar can't crawl in. I've certainly never been able to get in there in MOULa.

That question has been around since GameTap (at least). It's obviously a leftover puzzle scrap to a puzzle we never got to see. Much like the allusion to a cottage in Noloben.

If I remember correctly, the code that you find in the Kadish vault is one quarter of the code used in the fireplace in The Path of the Shell, so I can only imagine that they were going to add the other three quarters of the pattern later, probably hidden in different locations as a new way of disseminating the answer to the puzzle.

There's another quarter in the game as well, it's just well disguised.
