Having just read the books, I have a question regarding the Elder Wand :
Harry says the Elder Wand is his (he is it's true master) because he disarmed Draco, but Harry did not disarm Draco of the Elder Wand itself, so surely Draco is still the true master of the Elder Wand?

What, and then leave Draco as the only one who could kill Voldemort? Just go with the plot.

Justin Finch-Fletchley is the master of the Elder Wand.

I liked how the Ghostbusters took out Voldemort at the end of those books.

:Lemme recall the story.. been awhile since I've seen or read either book or movie...

As I recall, Draco disarmed Dumbledore... then Harry disarmed Draco. While it's true, Draco wasn't actually using the Elder Wand, but the wand was in fact PRESENT for those events...

I would say the wand has some kind of inherent awareness of who its master is, and whether its master got bested by someone-- but its probably not conscious.. & therefore wouldn't even be aware of whether it was being held by the master & used in a battle or just laying on the ground, when the master got beat...

All it "knows" is its new master just got beaten.. so, time to switch.

I liked Draco as a character.. he was learning, he was expanding his horizons, he was a good friend to Harry.
Then one incident, a big one admittedly, and, well...

Oh, and before you wonder "Wait, a friend? How do you get THAT from the books?!" I'm talking about Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. I treat it as required reading for that sort of thing. It's "fan fiction" in the way that the three books are Myst fan fiction (but better done). And right now it's already longer than most of the Potter books (I'm not sure if it's longer than Deathly Hallows, but it's running there).. and isn't done. And every word is good.

Really, that's part of what I like.. taking a story, and twisting it to fix all the little holes like that. (Oh, and it changed 'masters' because Harry is a Protagonist, and exudes an Aura of Plot which means everything plot-related gravitates towards him. Just watch, notice how it happens all the time.)
