Fortunately, that flow of new content is already beginning to take shape. It's not there yet but it's on the way.

How's that going, by the way?

Is it me, or is the latest CAVCON report running very late?

We're missing the last few weeks of login metrics as well as the CAVCON update in this thread. The welcome message for MOULa still reports CAVCON 2 but that may not be accurate. I suspect RAWA is either busy, out on vacation or otherwise occupied and simply hasn't had the opportunity to collect and report the data.

Well, I'm confident my donation has catapulted Cavcon to at least a 4. At least, that's what I'm hoping... I cashed in my 401k for this. :!:

Ok, maybe not. But I'm thinking we'll see some kind of move in the right direction.

Yeah, if only. :) But then, of course, one reads the "Ok, maybe not." :)

Even so, while I don't expect anyone to ever donate that much money here, all this talk on the forum recently about fan created content and how to bring it about, along with the screenshots by matthornb and such, does give me some very cautious hope for great things in our future, money or no.

Also, slow and unstoppable does certainly seem to describe how things run around here quite well. :D

I was about to make a large donation, but that's been postponed for a while. I'm sure it's still afloat, it's just getting a little unnerving having to wait a bit longer.

Slow, yes - unstoppable, no. Not as much so as we'd like to believe.

There have been a few notable people in the fanbase, in the Guild of Writers, who've basically drifted away since MOULa's launch. Jonee has not posted any updates on Breldur for about a year, last I checked.

It's a lot of work, sometimes tedious and frustrating, sometimes really exciting and creative - but a lot of work goes into making a (fan age). The progress we're making is the result of hundreds of hours of unpaid effort.

So that progress isn't inevitable. It's totally contingent on the fans in the Guild of Writers sticking with it and not giving up.

Apologies for missing last week's update. I was trying to hammer out the details for updating the CAVCON calculations with the accountant. As you can see from the updated initial post, September's CAVCON was 4.2... Those who have been asking for a bit more "resolution" to the CAVCON meter have been granted their request. :)

You may also notice another stat, that October's CAVCON "Donation Meter" is 2.3. What does that mean?
Have you ever been to a fundraiser where they showed the current progress toward their goal on a large drawing of a thermometer? Well, it's like one of those. It gives you a chance to see how close the current month's donations are to meeting the estimated monthly costs.

The "2" means that the reserve funds have enough to meet expected expenses for the month if the donations do not. (i.e. CAVCON 2) The ".3" means that this month's current donations have met roughly 30% of estimated costs for the month. Since the stat was provided on the 10th (roughly 30% of the month), so far we're on track for hitting CAVCON 3 (donations meeting expenses) for October. Yay!

:)
