I think that the download medium is not an entirely good idea. 3 Gigs is a lot to download over the internet. But I havent used gametap so maybe they have something that can handle it. One thing is for sure though, any CD bought will run much faster then any speed through the internet. I would rather purchace it then waiting in line and or waiting for the download.
We don't know how big the client will be. But 3 GB would take me something over an hour to download. That's still preferable to the time and gas money lost actually going out to a store. I just hope they don't force a download manager on us. Ugh. Once installed, the CD won't matter. The client won't run any faster for having been installed from a CD.

However I have been talking with my friends and we do a lot of criticing [sic].
You and the rest of us, pal. We've been critiquing it all over tha place. I'm sure you and your good friends are at least as qualified as the rest of us. *choke*

We believe that URU would not do so hot with the monthly pay.
So true. I'd rather pay annually.

My good friend said that it would be a pretty good thing to try to give the players a few months before they have to pay. I thought that if they gave one free month with the game purchase would be also fine. One month is plenty of time to make up your mind.
Your good friend should join us here too. I agree that one month should be enough. Especially if beta is successful.

My main point earlier though is that why can you not make a patch to go over the current URU game? That is, how much are you planning on re-vamping the game? Because I think that you cant re-vamp too much without excluding the current content which people probably dont want to see go. As for me, my only concern would be the walking. It always bugs me, it feels like I am constantly parallel parking my character.
Both the client and server are reportedly getting major overhauls to overcome old issues such as lag and load times. The "patch" would probably be bigger than the software itself because I'll bet the new code has little in common with the new code. I'm sure Cyan can include all prior content if they wish to given enough time and money. If some things aren't there at first, and we tell them we want it, they'll put it in. Have faith and give them a chance. I've never had a problem walking, but I'm sure it's a worthy suggestion.

Another idea that we thought of was that I remember hearing of the selective closed beta. I think that at some point (And of course I do not know what you entirely have planned) that you should make it an open beta towards the end.
It has been reported that beta will start sometime during what is Summer in the U.S., then Cyan will double the number of beta testers as quickly as the system proves it can handle it, until there are several thousand beta testers.
