Please can we have a report post button added to the forums.
I see many Myst sites are starting to get spamers and script kiddies
just like here in the last few days and we need that button instead of
sending off a pm that prolly never gets read.
Also some of the members on the list still have porn sites listed in there profile
are these members going to be deleted?

I don’t think a report button is going to speed anything up. I would rather have greydragon focus on getting URU Live out then spend all his time MOD’ing this forum. I can easily live with the spam for a day or two till greydragon can find the time to MOD. Folks seem to keep spam bumped to the top which will make it easier for the MOD’ing.

That we should. If it counts for anything, I am a forums moderator over at the poetry site your-poetry.com, which incidentally uses the php/BBC as well.

The members with porn sites bother me as well. I wish they were deleted/banned as they are obviously spammers.

I also asked GD in a PM about more Mods on this site as he is the only one
either in house or outsourced from the community
but have had no response from my PM to him.

I know he has better things to do but I hate coming here and seeing the same porn posts
last one i noticed stayed on this site for over 5 hours before being deleted.
I know many of us did pm / Msn GD but he gotta sleep sometimes Smile
AS live gets closer this site is going to get more traffic and many diff timezones come

I don't think a 'report post' button is that effective. They are often abused as much as the forum itself is. I remember when the Ubi forums were at their liveliest - the 'report post' button became a real pain. Members were using it to tell us that - ' This post should be moved', 'This person posted in 2 places', 'This post is the same as that one'....etc. Not that a heads up now and then wasn't appreciated, but we had several mods and by the time we read through all the complaints, one of the other mods had usually taken care of any problem that may have existed. It got to the point where I rarely checked the reported post list. It was usually redundant.

A real live moderator is more effective, IMO. From my experience, there were always one or two cruising through the forums and not much got by us. If we did miss something, a PM usually got a quicker response from us than a 'report' button.

It never ceases to amaze me how these people always manage to find the newer forums to start their trolling in. I wish I had that kind of spare time....I'd never leave Uru! Very Happy

Real live Mods, I think will always be more effective. But I am getting the impression that Cyan wants to keep all things Uru Live close to home, now, so that may be why Cats PM's in regards to Moding may have gone unread...

A number of us are Mods on other forums and probably could be of help. If the spaming and abuse gets bad enough, maybe then, our assistance will be requested...
