I've noticed that Myst, Riven, and Exile are available for download at GameTap. Is it helpful for Uru Live to play the other games online at GameTap (i.e., do they keep track of how many times the other games are played and consider that when they look at how many people are playing Uru Live?)

Also, last night I was at a New Year's Eve party in the Cavern, and a couple of people sent me KI photos, but when I go to look at my KI photos in My Documents, those photos don't show up. I know that the Incoming section also lists two messages from DRC and one that says "Downloading," could it be that the "downloading" message prevents the KI photos from being transferred to My Documents?

The photos taken by the KI are stored as JPEGs, but the files are corrupted for some reason. However, Chucker made an amazing little tool that fixes them for you - you'll have to search it, as I forget where he put it.

As for helping Gametap, I wouldn't have thought it did, but there's certainly no harm in playing them anyway, a) in the hope that it does help, and b) just 'cause they're bloomin' great!

Yes it does help URU and Cyan to play the other Myst games on GameTap as well as being FUN to see them again, or for the first time if you havent played them before.

As for the pics, Look in the Age folder ion your KI for that Age you were in when you recieved the images, they should be there, as long as there was room in your KI, it is a good idea to "empty" the pictures into another file before playing, for such eventualities. Enjoy and Shorah!

you can open the KI jpegs with photoshop or most image programs, depending on what you have. This is a funny thing in that the URU KI program adds some code to the jpeg file name making it impossible for Windows Explorer and some other programs to open automatically. Chucker did have a fix, and I will look for it after I get off work.

OK, that fixes the images that I took that are in My Documents/Uru Live. Thanks Chucker. But I still can't figure out how to get the images that were sent to me that are under Incoming.

I think you might need to "file" them first. In the KI, select the image to view it, then use one of the arrows to the left to associate it with a particular age (i.e., to file it inside a folder).

Then it should show up in My Documents\Uru Live.

I tried moving the pictures to Bevin, but they still don't show up in My Documents/Uru Live.

Such images are not downloaded to your harddrive. Only images that you made yourself are stored on your harddisk in addition to the KI.

Well, I tried contacting the people who took the pictures, presuming that they would have the files on their hard drive. One responded, but the attached JPG's wouldn't open, so I sent them the info about Chucker's program. Maybe if they run that on their files, they can email me their photos.
