Recently i've been saying that Cyan employees don't check the forums because of Uru Live and other reasons - well today i would like to officially take that back!
Regarding a post further down I didn't think a Cyan employee would reply so soon! But they did an once again i've been proved wrong!

So here is my official appology to Cyan staff because I thought they didn't check their own forums

So with that out of the way here is my idea- I think that with the new age creation tool said to be released soon after Uru Live we could incorporte that into another existing part of Uru so here it is:-

SCRAP RELTO PAGES!

Because when Yeesha says in the endgame (SPOILER coming up
here) "Relto will be your soul changing as you do" she meant it and at the time such a task was not possible! to make Relto OUR OWN HOME! and I think if you put the age creation tool into customisation of Relto then it would give us a lot more freedom to make Relto our home!

This doesn't have to be immediate - players could work to obtain the tool or features could be added to the customisation section on each update!
The fact is I think it would be popular with many other players!

About the suggestion: Definately. I would like to see more customization available for the Uru worlds. Look at a game like Spore where players will be able to create their own creature, plants, buildings, even worlds. Then those are sent to a central database, given the once over, and sent to other players. Why can't Uru have that? What's with all this agony over user-made stuff? That somehow fan-made Ages etc. are not worthy to be in the temple of Cyan-- praised be thy name etc.--

All that would be needed would be to have a library (perhaps the one on Ae'gura) that housed all the fan-made stuff. Not all this "stick them on another server." We should be encouraging new creation, not shoving it away into some dark corner... Perhaps I've missed something? All I've seen is people making fan ages seem like they are automatically sub-standard because they won't/may not follow Cyan's storyline.

Please, someone enlighten me, I don't want to think this community is this close-minded!

I think the concern over fan-made ages is related to the idea that some of them might seem amateurish. Personally, I can't image Cyan releasing anything amateurish, and I'm sure they'd give any fan-created stuff a once-over before releasing it. But you gotta admit, not all fan-created stuff is something you want dumped into the middle of your game (at least I don't). It'd be great to have them as options - I like your idea of a library in Ae'gura where you could go to link to a fan-created age if you want. But don't get your knickers in a twist when people get skittish about it - there are valid concerns that haven't yet been addressed (though I'm sure they will).

actually id like it to be a little different.
most fan-made ages look bad right now because we dont have the actual tools, the stuff we are using is still in an alpha phase, im sure as soon as we get the tools there will be many great looking ages. i still think they should go through a cyan-made admission test, so we dont get crappy ages with conflicting story.

I don't mean to be rude to anyone here, but the Ages aren't great yet because of us, not because of the tools. A tool is only as good as its user. As we progress as artists and 'age creators' so will our Ages. The tools we have right now may not be perfect but they already allow us to do a lot with some work. I think the Ages will get better if we can share tips/knowledge/tutorials/whatever rather than if we get better tools. (That said better tools are always an improvement of course )
But I'm drifting offtopic.

It's self-limiting. The world-class artistic talent required to produce something of the caliber we see in these games is already doing it for a living. If we fans were that extraodinary, we'd be working there, or at, or have founded, other well-known companies to realize our talents. And if we are world-class talent, we probably won't be doing it as a hobby for very long. We can only assume that any fan-made ages indistinguishable from those out of Cyan Worlds can only be altruistic efforts of the highest order. It won't happen often, if at all.

Mind you, making an Age for Uru now might be a good thing, if you have it in mind to one day work for Cyan. Heck of a thing to put in your portfolio.

Relto Pages should be kept, Age creation is not as simple as many people think it is, throwing it in to Relto for people to customise the Age is easier said than done.

IMO I'd rather have Cyan use their time/money/resources/whatever to make their Ages instead of using it to check player created Ages for bugs and storyline conflict stuff. I'm willing to bet that there will be an Age of Restrooms sent to Cyan for UL, at the very least, once a week.

How about Relto pages with multiple options? Several pool shapes, multiple material types, etc...

I must say, I very much like the idea of utilizing a full Age creation system on Relto.

Don't get me wrong, I like Relto, but I think that in the long-haul, eventually it would be a lot cooler to get to trade it in for a home Age I've designed myself, and tailored to my tastes.
