Hi all - it's been a few months since I have played. I know I have missed some of the montly sparkles and problaby many other things. I got busy with other things plus maybe a little disenchanted when I tried to get through those portals which only came about once every several hours or so.

Plus - I had to unintall and reinstall gametap so I think I may have lost all my progress with my current explorer. I'll see how that goes.

So - what next? Any suggesstions? Thanksl!

Your progress is stored on the server, not on your computer, so you will find your avvie just as you left him/her.

The current thinking is that the sparklies will recycle at the beginning of the year. We still don't know if something special is going to happen when you have all twelve, so I wouldn't worry on that count.

As for the pod portals, there are several excellent predictor programs (and one web site that I know of) that will tell you when the pods appear. Just look for a time that will be convenient for you to grab them.

The story has been moving along, but you can get caught up on it by reading the summaries posted on the forums. A very good place for this is UO's Cavern Today section. There have been a couple of new ages released as well, one that is a sort of an orienteering course, and Er'cana where you make pellets that feed the lake algae, which in turn will brighten the cavern (at some point).

Welcome back, and enjoy!

Well, there are some proper ages for you to explore since the pods, with no hanging around waiting for portals! Make your way to the Library in the City

Thanks Tofer - that's good news that my progress is stored. Not that I wouldn't mind playing all the base ages again, but it's still nice to be caught up with the rest of the explorers.

I don't mind not having the all the sparklies - I thing that if having them were important to another level, they would be available. Or maybe they'll all become availabile to everyone at some point.

I got the first two pods as they were released - the third I missed twice. The first time I was waiting on the wrong level, and went downstairs just a few seconds too late. The second time I linked it a few seconds too late.

Thanks again for the info - I'll get back on soon!

I'd give up, its pointless anymore unless u wanna just walk through what you've already seen. No new content other than some small age called Jalak that most of us have no idea to do with. Worst part is no real promises of actual "New" ages. I think next month we are stuck again with what we have already seen. So anyways...if it wasnt for my dumbass trusting Cyan to deliver some new material, i wouldnt have subscribed to Gametap. but here i sit.

Slip Jigs, if you didn't play since around the pod releases, besides Jalak (via Library), Kirel (extremely renovated edition Wink ) and Watcher's Pub (Nexus), and Ercana (via Watchers's Pub) there is also Minkata (never-seen-before-new), linking book is in the Library. Make sure to check out the journal that goes with it. I really enjoyed Minkata's puzzle. But if you get lost, there's helpful info here on the forum and if you get really frustrated and just want to walk through - there are marker guides for it around, too, just ask for them.

EDIT: I forgot to add: Story release (DRC appearances, age releases etc)has moved to episodic format. A week per month. The date for the next episode isn't known yet.

Just to be able to visit Ages already known to me with new explorers who have never been there before... trust me, it's worth more than each single month's international subscription fee.

Well, if you solved Minkata in half a day you either used a walkthrough (Using a walkthrough is going to make any puzzle somewhat boring IMO) or are a genius. . .and if you are a genius, why are you playing games? Why don't you design one?

The capacity for doing something does not imply the desire to do so.

Like most of the puzzles that come out, if you attack it with friends, it will cave pretty quickly. Three of us working together had Minkata completely cracked in about 6 hours, and we were probably behind the curve. Nothing genius about it. Heck, the pods only took everyone so long to solve because they're so inherently slow.

Now, if you insist on tackling the ages alone, you may be there for a while, 'tis true.

As for geniuses making games... it doesn't take a genius to make a game, and being a genius won't help you make one. You could win the Nobel prize in medicine, doesn't mean you have any talent for using 3DSMax.
