If you turn the wheel more than once (you may not have realised you did this)
you turn the current back on ... ie one turn is off, two turns is on, three is off etc

my suggestion is to try going back to the hut and turn the wheel just once.

I hope this helps

DHGirl,

When you rotate clockwise, current is on. When you rotate counterclockwise, current is off.

how do you turn it in different directions?
I just carefully click on it once and the avatar turns it

Good. Then, if the avatar turned it clockwise, you will have current.
Click it again and it will turn it counterclockwise. Current will be off.

Ah ... I've never noticed (probably as I only ever turn it once)

There's supposed to be a visual clue of what turning the valve does. When Ahnonay was brought over to MOUL from CC/POTS a few things got broken and were never fixed.

Turning the valve shuts off the current but the water still appears to be turbulent. There's supposed to be a texture-swap wherein the water takes on the calm appearance of the water inside the maintenance area. I don't know why this was never fixed.. something for our CWE team to work on I suppose.

Loshem,

When current is off, sound is not the same. Much more calm outthere, from inside tower i mean.

Yes, exactly. I agree with these pics and it was much more obvious that something happened to the current.

I don't want to hijack the thread but this particular bug irks me more than any other. It's part of the puzzle as far as I'm concerned and without it the solution becomes needlessly less obvious. There are a few other issues with the MOULa version of Ahnonay such as the fact that the quabs make the same sound effect as an avatar which is not the skittering sound effect they made in CC/POTS or the entire layer of mist that is missing from sphere 2 which also causes an odd blur in the texture around the ground of the tower.. But those are minor issues. The water is a major one in my opinion.
