In Watcher's Words 1:10, 13 it says:
"The grower will have Ages....Have Ages, and link to them without bindings."

And in 2:51 it says:
"A grower to link at will."

Does anyone remember ever seeing Yeesha link at will without a book?

In PotS she links you from K'veer to the docks and back.

In Myst 5, she links you into the caldera of the vulcano from K'veer.


Completely ignoring the whole "linking-using-holograms" thing.

And "linking without bindings" is also noticeable... Linking within an Age, which the D'ni couldn't.

OK, I replayed the beginning of M5 and saw where Yeesha links us out of K'veer. She stretches out her hand toward us and we poof.

I can't remember what she does in TPOTS, and I don't want to replay the entire game just to find out. Exactly what does she do to link us away? Does anyone remember?

You hear her disembodied voice when you enter K'veer, and then suddenly you find yourself on the docks. That's pretty much it.

Hm, so no one has actually SEEN Yeesha link without a book? I am specifically interested in the physical actions she takes. Esher touches the Bahro pelt to link. I'm sure Yeesha does not use a pelt, but does she touch a symbol on her clothing, or take any unusual action? In M5 she just stretches out her hand. Do you think it is a completely mental activity?

Actually it could be said that back in February this year, Yeesha linked at will to sil_oh_wet's Bevin from where-ever she was!

In M5 she links YOU without anything other than a wave and a "Begin." However, I think this is part of her plot to make people think she's the Grower. If you remember, there are a bunch of bahro in the room in K'veer where she links you to the caldera. My guess is that the bahro is who actually links you.

Thats an interesting possibility actally. Maybe it was the bahro who liked us but we'll never know unless we can get her in a Bevin for more than 5 minutes with a lie detector and a room fo explorers.

However she might have linked us and just harnessed the power of the bahro?

ummm it was the bahro that link you in myst 5. If you think about it and pay close attention to what accually happens and also remember the ending with esher.

trying not to spoil it for people that havent finished myst5. So I put it spoilers tags.



If you pay close attention the sounds you will hear a familar sound that we hear in mystonline on occasion. wings flapping. We also see esher being removed by bahro that are only touching him.

I believe that the bahro put thier wings around us and link us away giving us the fade to black effect. remember listen to the sounds.

At the end, yes, but at the beginning of the game, Yeesha is the one who links you -- without touching you.
