There was a time that we had a fan based system that showed us who was in game. I think something like this would be very helpful now as I can very rarely find my buddies online. It would also help with events and meetings.
Is this a possiblility in the future?

Your KI keeps track of your buddies for you and tells you when their on, whether their on your age or not.

Right. But Natika writes about a system used in UU that based on the on-the-fly data of the server and the current players' and buddies' list was visible in a web page. You hadn't to login a dozen time a day to check if a buddy is in-cavern or not.

I would be in support for a system like that implemented in MOUL, although with the exception that only avatars who want to be listed online will be. It is true that someone can always add you to their buddy list once they see you, but for some avatars who don't want others to know whether they are on or not, I don't think this would be a fair idea.

Another idea could simply be a webpage that you could log on to with your GameTap account and choose your avatar, and it would list the online status of your buddies and neighbors. I think this would work out much better given the current situation of having MOUL as opposed to UU.

Given that the goal is to get people to log into to Uru, I'd rather see people log in to find if friends are online or not myself.

Ah, that WOULD be handy.

I agree. What we really need at the moment is people logging in to do just that - more logins = better promotion remember. Wink

So, no I'm against a list like this unless GameTap change the system! Wink

This system made sense in UU where there were multiple shards. Instead of logging in over and over looking for people, you could see what server your friends were in, then go join them. Now that there's only one server, a who's online list would be a bit pointless when you could just log in once and look at your KI. /shrug

It is a chicken/egg thing... Seeing a friend online will motivate people to login, even if they didn't really plan to at the time. However, if everybody waits for others to login the cavern will remain empty.

I would rather have an in-game system which allows us to find people who are not in our KI lists.
A second Nexus machine would be perfect for this. The machine should also support transfer of people to our KI lists. This would be limited of course to those who have registered themselves as "public" at their own Nexus machines.

That is a really really good idea, D'Lanor.

Let's hope it can be implemented some day.
