I've been bored during school lately, and also reading the Book of Ti'ana, so I've started doing some sketches for designs for the Guilds. The only Guild emblem I've actually SEEN is for the Guild of Maintainers; but they can't possibly be the only ones with a Guild emblem.

I started doing these really complex ones, then realized that maybe I should do something a little simpler first; so I went back and did some simplified versions. *shrugs*

So, some hypothetical designs.

Caterers
Ink Makers
Book Makers
Surveyors

I also did a design for the Surveyor's uniform - the book says Aitrus is wearing a sort of jumpsuit thing when he's working. I figured that when working they'd want to wear something practical and comfortable, with pockets for their stuff. So the result is not really 1700's ish but for goodness sake D'ni is underground. It's not very fancy; but they've got fancy stuff for special occasions. other than that they'd wear these.

There are a few "unofficial" (not yet sanctioned) guilds. Some of them may be designing their own logos (such as the Guild of Fine Artists), but others may want a creative person to offer some suggestions.

The active unoffficial guilds of which I'm aware (and persons you could contact about them) are:
Guild of Archivists (Alahmnat)
Guild of Astronomy (andylegate)
Guild of Comedy (semplerfi)
Guild of Fine Artists (Tweek)
Guild of Healers (ghaelen)
Guild of Ideas (subumbra)
Musician's Guild (unknown, sorry... I just know the forum is at http://www.musiciansguild1.proboards105.com/)

There were more unofficial guilds hosted at the UruGuilds site, but that site has closed and I don't believe any of those guilds continued to operate as they were.

I really like the simplified version of the Caterer's seal you did. The bundled grain stalks already look graceful and symbolic.
Your surveyors' symbol looks a lot like the seal for the Cartographers which has been adapted for the guild pubs (and is thankfully less busy-looking now). Great minds.... eh?

Definitely expand on the ideas you've had for the guilds not yet represented. There are many different guilds both in D'ni's history and in the universe which we're still creating.

Not at all; one of your designs might one day be retconned as an official D'ni logo, just like the Cartographers'.
I just wanted to point out that some of the D'ni guilds have logos already, specifically Maintainers, Cartographers, Surveyors, Messengers and Writers.

I like your idea for the Caterers, but I'm not too sure about the Ink-makers' one.

Yeah, I'm not sure about the Ink-Makers either. I DO think they'd use a lot of scarab iconography in their designs, but... yeah. That's the one I like the LEAST. I also don't like the Book Makers much either.

For those of you who've suggested unofficial guilds - I'm MOSTLY looking at guilds that existed in D'ni. Been reading BoT and have been wanting to do designs for the formal Guild robes, and to do THAT I wanted to be able to put the symbols on the backs If anyone could give me pictures of the extant guild symbols I'd be VERY greatful. Furthermore it'd help me get a better idea of what style the symbols should be in.

I know that the emblem is incorrect. Nobody was able to get me pictures of the proper emblem though (and google image search did not help me) and when I drew this I didn't have internet access anyway.
